    *As many of you are still very intruiged over a year later, this is what happened to the Offset Casterbridge:* Sven started a run of custom order, hand made Casterbridges for Offsets and was selling them on Reverb to gauge how many people were interested enough to actually buy one before he made a production run. The problem was that because they were custom made, they were a fair bit more expensive than the production Casterbridge, and he didn't sell too many. After getting some feedback from people who were struggling to cut good string slots, he decided to shelve the offset version of the bridge and not take it any further. Last time I spoke to him, he still had one 9.5" and one 7.25" offset bridge left. It's a shame because I think it had a lot of potential to be cool, but you can still get a Strat or Tele one and mod your offset bridge to make it fit if you want one!

    Really enjoyed this video. I think he would make bank if he produced and marketed one for the JazzJag community. Bridges (or rather saddles) like this for JazzJags easily go for twice or thrice the price of these. Just ordered one for the strat style bridge on my D'Angelico Bob Weir Bedford.

    I bought a CV Squier Mustang recently and I was considering replacing the tremolo. Do you recommend the Korean one then? Is it worth it investing a bit more¿ Thanks :D Pd your Mustang is gorgeous, it has an amazing pickguard :)

    • @MarkB.Guitar
      @MarkB.Guitar 5 дней назад

      @@Lalairu Awesome! CV Mustangs are great guitars ☺️ I definitely recommend the Korean one as the best option that you can buy new - it's much better than the Japanese or Chinese versions. It works best in a non-floating configuration (i.e., lowering the pitch only) but it has very good tuning stability in that configuration. I'd say it's the best vibrato for tuning stability. I personally prefer the vintage one. It's not necessarily better for tuning stability, but the feel is much nicer and it improves the tone by about 5% - 10% over the Korean one. You can get them for about £80 ($100) + tax & shipping if you keep an eye out on eBay, so a vintage one works out about 3x the price of the Korean one! Really, it comes down to your budget and priorities. I'd say most people would probably just be happy with the Korean one, but if the extra feel and tone improvements of the vintage one are important to you it's worth it! Thank you mate! I got the metal octopus pickguard halfway through filming the video. It's from Indra Guitars. The other pickguard was made by me out of wallpaper!

My GAS is very thankful for it, but my picking hand precision not so much... I'd say the most important thing is obviously working out the best placement for the bridge posts and a bridge that will give you enough intonation range - a normal bridge won't work if you want your pickguard to line up nicely on the body. I documented every step of the process - I'll start working out how to format it into a watchable series 😊

      @liamtahaney713 Hi mate, since I published this video a year ago, the price of the bridge has increased by about £50. It was £125 when I bought it but it's now £175. It's a shame the price has gone up but it's inevitable, I guess... In the UK a Mastery is £225 delivered, the cheapest Halon option is £180 delivered, and the KMS is £175 delivered - so the KMS is still 25% less than a Mastery and £5 cheaper than an all-steel Halon. But you're right, the bridge was very good value for £125, but there's a lot of competition around the £200 price point...

      @MarkB.Guitar Месяц назад

      I missed this comment yesterday! Originally, I went for the Alnico 3 Mustang/Duo Sonic Set because I wanted to try a vintage style Mustang set. I generally prefer the clarity and dynamic range you get with lower output pickups (I have plenty of fuzz, boost and overdrive pedals to get higher gain sounds, so don't need my pickups to be really gainy). I swapped to the Jaguar pickup because, as I explain in the base plate video, the Mustang pickup was just lacking in midrange and output (even with the pedals) and the low end was loose and flubby - just not my sound! I love the sound of my Jaguars, so thought it made sense to get another Jaguar pickup to put in there. The base plate did make the Mustang pickup a lot more like a Jaguar but I eventually found that it still wasn't quite was I was looking for and I just didn't enjoy the sound/feel as much as my Jaguars. Someone has asked me to make a video demoing the Mustang properly, so I'll try and get that together in the next couple of months and I'll explain it all in detail in there!

But your demo really knocked my socks off, clean-wise, so thanks for any tips you might have. Oh, and what pickups are installed? Incidentally, the KMS JAM Bridge is fixed, whereas the High Spirit - as you kindly pointed out - is somewhat moveable, so that‘s another point in favor of the HS.
