Best camera I've ever owned!
Did you have any issues importing the drift or either of these to Australia? I’ve heard of potential issues with it having ability for single hand opening.
@rhysdixon2597 No problem importing these or any other knives. As long as you're not contravening State laws, you should be fine.
Thank You for this Good Comparison,I am sure that more and more People will be watching your review. You solved a good one....which one?.....Both!
To get that tower you said you zoomed hundred times, but the optical zoom is just 25x. So I don't understand that..?
The optical zoom is 25 x. After that, the digital zoom kicks in to 100 x.
okay that's clear. but How did you use the digital zoom in one movement after the optical zoom?
Вы еще пользуетесь этой камерой ? Стоит ли ее сейчас покупать или посмотреть другие камеры такого же размера?
Just translated your comment. No. Have not used this camera in a while. Have been using the Canon EOS R for a long time now. The G3X is quite an old camera and I don't think it is in production any more.
@@GearSlobспасибо за ответ. А как вам g3x хорошая камера или не надо ее покупать. Хочу купить ее с рук, Стоит или не стоит покупать ее? Или поискать другую камеру? Мне нужна камера для походов путешествия.

Just got the deka with Magnacut red g10 scales from knifecenter I really like the deka
Nice one ! Did you get the clip point or the Wharncliffe ?
comparison is useless because you rendered this in only 1080P, not 1440P or higher. Quality still looks bad on both.
Thanks for your thoughtful comment on this 5 year old video. Apologies that you wasted 4 1/2 minutes watching it.
I have a Samsung Tab S8. Would that fit in the tablet sleeve comfortably?
Think that should be fine. From memory, you can get a 13" laptop in there.
It will be fine. I got a zen book pro 14 oled in. iPad also fits no problem.
Where's my check book ... I need the RED bugout . Where can I buy
Think it was an international limited edition, so you would have to look on the secondary market. Just get the Flytanium G10 scales instead.
Hmm? Did you say something?
I have both knives. I prefer the Deka
The Bugout has a pretty serious fan club, but the Deka is all round better value.
i feel like if this knife would have the finger choil a bit wider, to fit more hand types, and have a button or compression lock would be the ultimate EDC, fidget, useful knife out there
Maybe if the choil was a little bigger, wouldn't be a bad thing. Doesn't stop me from carrying it frequently the way it is now. A button lock would be interesting but as far as I know, that's not a Voxnaes thing.
The drift is not that good. Overhyped on RUclips in my opinion. It’s not a good cutter. I do want to try the waypoint.
Disagree with you about the Drift. Carried mine yesterday. It's so reliable and comfortable. Don't understand your comment that 'it's not a good cutter'. The blade grind is very thin, and Vanax holds an edge for a long time. Not sure you will like the Waypoint if you don't like the Drift. Thanks for watching.
@@GearSlob I have the drift man. It can’t even slice an apple without using a lot force. Maybe your cutting open boxes with it. I carry this knife mostly for cutting fruits and food in general.
Sounds like you might need to put a fresh edge on there. Like I said in the video, the edge on mine ,out of the box, was dull. Sharpen it up, and you'll be a lot happier.
Benchmade bugout is realy made in Usa?
Yes. In Oregon.
Nice comparison. Those Vero's have been calling me. But after the F5.5 I just don't know if these kind of knives are for me. I always just end up using my Buck 112. Buck just seems to be my one knife for life. If you have never tried one I recommend the Buck 112 or even better the more modern Buck 112 Slim TRX. The 110 is great too just bigger. Keep up the good work.
The Veros are great knives. Functional and well made but with a really distinctive and modern look. If you're happy using the Buck knives, maybe stick with them for now. Thanks for commenting and your support.
*'Interrupted by a Cat'* should be the title of your memoir.
Not the first time it's happened and certainly not the last. Cats have no respect when it comes to content creation.
Just ordered it...Said stevie dropped a reminder they were in stock!
Nice one ! Hope you like it. The White and Jade G10 versions are in stock as well.
Hey, just wanted to give you a heads up. Fox is releasing a liner lock Yaru with Micarta scales and a M398 steel blade. Hopefully, this new version fixes some of these issues and may even come at a substantial discount over the Ti frame lock and S90V blade steel.
That sounds really good. With lighter scales, the action should be better and if the lock bar access is improved, they'll be on to a winner ! Thanks for letting me know. I'll keep an eye out for it.
I got the same one about a year ago I guess and I can’t seem to fall in love with it! I want to like it but it’s blade is thick. Mine loses its hair popping sharpness quick. My s35vn we roxi 3 holds a fine edge longer. Maybe s90v is like that. The ergos are good. The lock bar is hard to get to. I rarely carry it. I carry my f5.5 more. Hell I carry everything else instead really. I like the detent. Maybe I need to spend even more time with it. Maybe I’ll send it is to get a hollow grind on it. The ergos are the best thing about it. I think if the blade was thinner I’d carry it more. I carry my ace biblio more also. Over all meehhhh!
Put a fresh edge on mine and it's like a new knife. I find with most knives, it takes at least a couple of sharpenings to remove any fatigued steel that remains from the factory belt sharpening. This is my only S90V blade so I don't have anything to compare it to in terms of steel performance. The lock-bar access sucks and the action is sluggish but once I get it in hand, I remember why I like it. Thanks for watching.
S90V sucks to put a proper edge on. I would recommend letting a professional sharpen it and check to see if there was a significant difference. Your sharpening tools might just not be up to the task. Are you using diamond plat?
Aww man... if mine arrives with a dull edge I'm going to Be DISAPPOINTED
Hopefully, Quiet Carry has sorted out their edges, and you end up getting a decent one. Since I got my Drift, I've carried it more than any other knife in my collection. It's a great knife.
@@GearSlob That's reassuring. The fact that it's impervious to rust lured me in. I've heard mixed reviews, so I'm hoping it will be a mainstay for me. Thanks!
Thanks for the video
Thank you for the excellent video. This was the comparison I have been looking forward to the most. The Yaru sure seems to be a lesser known Vox model. Yet, the Suru seems to be talked about quite often. Sounds like I made the right choice going for the F5.5. And I agree the finger choil is way too small. I feel the Yaru could have been perfect. If they simply removed the flipper and made the frame lock easier to get too. Vox designs seem to share allot of similar parts. As the Yaru blade is simply a shorter GiantMouse Ace Grand blade with a different handle. Hope you have a Merry Christmas and a happy new year.
I do like the Yaru but it would be so much better if the lock bar access was improved and deleting the flipper tab is an excellent idea. Same for the F5.5 if the choil was a little larger. In a nutshell, that is pocket knife design. What may be perfect for you or me, does not work at all for someone else. Glad that you liked the video. Thanks for watching and all the best.
For me Bugout wins in pretty much every measurable category. Maybe I'll like my Deka more if I get some custom scales and change the horrible thumb stud. I love the shape of the Deka blade, but the magnacut has already chipped with lighter use than my bugout goes through. The deka's flipping action is still not as smooth either, even after polishing the washers and oiling it. Still a great knife for just over $100. But I think I'll always reach for my CF Bugout for EDC.
Wow ! That's pretty disappointing that your Magnacut blade has chipped. The new Dekas in Magnacut are relatively cheap, so it makes me wonder if there are some compromises in the manufacturing ? One thing I didn't mention is that the action on my Deka is glassy smooth. I usually disassemble my knives and give them some love but haven't had to with my Deka. The upscaled versions of the Bugout, the CF/S90V and Aluminium/M390, should be excellent. They're quite pricey.
For me deka wins in every category. More durable construction (don’t go into the high end bugout - they are too far out of price range to compare to magnacut deka), smoother action, grippier lock and thumb studs, better more aggressive blade grind that is just as capable for slicing but better for delicate work and stabbing. I think you got a lemon because the MC in my deka is more likely to roll slightly than chip in my experience
Deka in Magnacut with custom scales wins to me. But i might prefer the Bugout out of the box (Assuming you are unwilling to upgrade the Deka scales). I do prefer the action on the benchmade though. Did you have the drop point which chipped? curious as the Warncliff seems very durable to me
My bugout had a broken spring within the first 3 months of owning it. It’s real.
Yep. Wonder how many more broken Omega spring victims there are out there...Benchmade or other brands.
I have a 940, Bugout, Mini Bugout, and a Deka Wharncliffe. Never had any issues with the Benchmade springs however the Deka broke both springs in a month. Hogue sent replacement springs so hopefully the springs were just a bad set. I have aftermarket replacement springs if needed...
When you do your review of the Fox Yaru. Could you do a detailed comparison between it and the F5.5? Talk about a tease using it to open the package and not even using it to compare... It's a comparison I've been dying for. As these two knives I consider to be the best of the Vox designs.
Sorry. Was not my intention to tease. For some reason, there's not many Yaru reviews in English on YT, so when I make mine, I will do a comparison with the F5.5.
@@GearSlob looking forward to it! Very little information out there in English on the Yaru. I was between the two but ultimately went with the F5.5 Ti because it was cheaper. Unfortunately, expensive knives aren't really my thing and now wish I just went with the Micarta instead. As I suspect the hand satin finish won't hold up over time.
I like that first opener knife.
The Yaru ? Might have to do a video on that one...
The F5.5 is such a good knife. The action and ergonomics are phenomenal. I have the blue denim micarta with the acid etched blade and I love it. I like it so much I now want a titanium safe queen version.
Totally agree. Voxnaes knows his ergos. Get the Ti version and see if you can bring yourself to use it.
That's a very cool knife and I'm a sucker for micarta handles. Is that black micarta or green? You did say black but it looks green in the video.
It's definitely black. My knife has darkened up a lot over the last couple of days. Urban EDC do have a version in green micarta. Here's a link: urbanedcsupply.com/products/urban-edc-f5-5-green-micarta?_pos=9&_sid=7c27e223b&_ss=r
Looks black on my iPad.
Nice review - keep it up mate
Cheers ! Thanks for the encouragement.
I have a Waypoint on the uh.. way. That will make my fourth knife from Quiet Carry, along with: The Chase, The IQ, and The Drift. The Chase and The Drift both arrived with absolute laser beam edges, but the edge on the IQ was absolutely abysmal. Now I'm looking at the fixed blade, can't recall the name of it.
Hope you get a decent factory edge on the Waypoint. Mine wasn't too bad. 'Abysmal' is a pretty good description of the edge on my Drift, although it did give me the opportunity to sharpen Vanax, which was nice.
Have you experienced any rusting of the hardware? Mine went in the ocean a few times and I got some pretty good rusting going
Haven't noticed any corrosion so far. Carry the Drift a lot and don't live too far from water... The clip and other parts are meant to be marine grade stainless steel so that sounds a bit unusual.
@@GearSlob I can send you some pictures. I did take it scuba diving for a week so it was getting unusual treatment.
I watched your video on the peak design sling 10L v2 shoulder bag. My question is, do you think I could fit my canon R3 with a 24-70 lens attached?
It would be a tight fit but I think so. Wouldn't be much room for anything else.
Where, how much???
Quietcarry.com Think the Drift is $300 but there is an option with G10 scales. The Waypoint is similar in price.
I'm a big TRM knives fan but I've held both of these and really liked them. Especially the Drift. I just can't decide which version I want. I wish they had the textured raw Ti Drift in stock
I have a TRM Neutron 2. It's a great knife, but I almost always grab the Drift. It just feels better in hand and I definitely prefer the QC thumbstuds. Would like to pick up some contoured scales for the Neutron. Apparently they completely change the feel in hand.
@@GearSlob I have 2 Neutrons, one with flat G10 and the other Contoured. The flat ones are more grippy, but the Contoured fill the palm of my hand alittle better.
@@GearSlob what angle are you sharpening the Drift at on the worksharp? I do 17.5 on most knives.
I've since got a KME and sharpen everything on that. The last time I sharpened the Drift it was about 18.5 degrees. Came up really nicely.
Thanks pal. A very useful summary. I bought this camera 2 days ago so this is good information, thank you.
Glad to hear the video was helpful to you. Cheers.
Does a 70 to 200 USM lens fitt in there
I don't have a 70-200 lens but I think the lens, on its own, would fit standing up. If it was attached to a camera body, you would have to reconfigure the inserts and place it on its side.
Hi. i bought one 6L and find my camera didnt fit weel so i changed to 10L and love it. The camera goes in the center always with several lenses so whet the bag is with lots of stuff the middle tends to strech so i can not make use of the origamis, since i can not turn them OUTSIDE, only inside, but thats no problem at all. i end up pilling stufff on both interior compartmentes, left and right :) I also have the Zip 15 L but thinking of changint it to the 20 L, I love her to,
For a sling bag, you can fit so much in the 10L. Such a versatile option. Thank you for watching.
I have been using the edbp v2 for over 2 years now. Those plastic hooks are no problem at all, very sturdy!
Curious how you carry around water with a bag like this?
It's not really designed for that. You could carry a short bottle inside if you had to, otherwise you're looking at going to a larger, backpack type of bag.
@@GearSlob I've been hoping to see someone with a water bottle strapped to the bottom with the included straps to see if it works before making a purchase 😅
@@alexfns2427 you would have to cinch it down really tight and there’s no guarantee it won’t come loose as you’re walking around. From a guy that uses one of these slings every day (I have the 6L version), walking around and cycling, it just doesn’t work for a standard water bottle. There are flat pack type bottles that will fit inside (almost like a flask), but honestly I will just carry a small bottle around with me if I absolutely need it. Absolutely love this bag and after 2 years of daily use, all the materials have held up very well. The only noticeable wear is on the material lining the padding of the shoulder strap.
@@alexfns2427 I’ll try that !
@@alexfns2427late comment I know, you could easily cinch a water bottler to the bottom
Lighting is 50/50
OK. Could you expand on that ? Not quite sure what you mean.
@@GearSlob half the time the object was lit....other half it was lost in less than light like a shadow...so you turn it one angle and it's like the knife has no light on it
Right. It's tricky as the main light source is daylight coming from a window on the right hand side. I'll have to figure out a way to light the shot more evenly. Thanks for the observation.
@@GearSlob you can have a small lamp between you and your hands ...but I was also thinking how the black on that knife really wanted to obsorbe light
i dislike the sticker being NOT the knife i just got.
Feels like they release a new knife every week. Would be hard for them to keep up with stickers as well.
Просто - восторг !
Not sure what you are saying but thanks for your comment.
What did you upgrade to?
Ended up with the EOS R. Wanted to use RF lenses and still be able to use EF/EFS lenses. The best of both worlds.
I love getting limited edition knives, being able to say that you have one of some many that were made feels nice
Maybe invest in a better microphone? "Why didnt i buy that"
Duly noted, pokemon hat guy. I used a cheap lavalier mic for this 3 1/2 year old video. My equipment and recording techniques have improved since then...

@@GearSlob Very welcome, really very good video work or creation in all respects! More success in strength, health and have a nice day everyone! 👍☀️👆
I am sorry, but these rounded shapes are definitely less pleasant than the V1 of the bag.
Not quite sure what 'rounded shapes' you're referring to. Seems like you preferred the original version.
@@GearSlob Yes, exactly. My wife has Tote V1 charcoal and it is a real beauty. Tote V2 is dull, almost no accents, shapes more rounded. Ditto for the Sling bags. But - we will go for the Everyday backpack V2, as it is still nicely "boxy" :-) I know that aesthetics is a matter of personal preference ....
@@PetrKrenzelokentirely subjective. I feel the polar opposite
What about the weight distribution and sling pad’s comfort? Once full the bag looks to be quite heavy/eat into your shoulder?
I think Peak Design got the shoulder strap just right. It's thick enough so that it is comfortable to wear for long periods but not overly bulky. Weight distribution depends on what you're carrying and how you have the bag set up. Personally, I haven't had problems with the bag becoming uncomfortable, but I guess that everyone's experience will be different.
