    You, breaking it up in three parts and me, pronouncing it 30 times, might have finally done the trick. "Can I have the Woes-tuh-shuh sauce please?" Okay, I wrote it phonetically for the Dutch among us. "We are all out of Woes-tuh-shuh sauce." "Well, can you write Woes-tuh-shuh sauce on the grocery list then?" "I don't think Lidl sells any Woes-tuh-shuh sauce..." "So, buy the Woes-tuh-shuh sauce somewhere else!" "But I have no clue which store might sell Woes-tuh-shuh sauce." "You might try Tesco for Woes-tuh-shuh sauce." "Really, are you sure they sell Woes-tuh-shuh sauce at Tesco?" "Well, I wouldn't know any other supermarket around, that sells Woes-tuh-shuh sauce." Etc. Well, now I got it. Finally. Have to come back here a few times probably though :)

    • @PepEnglish
      @PepEnglish 2 года назад

      Yes good question, you can depending on your accent. The ending does change according to various accents in the UK. My accent is standard British English but there are accents in Britain that pronounce: shur, so it is also correct.

    • @PepEnglish
      @PepEnglish 3 года назад

      I agree, English pronunciation can be tricky. It is because of our history. There are Germanic, Scandinavian, Latin and French origins in English. Worcestershire is a place in England and the sauce, which is still made there, was named after it. The origins of the word are Latin and Old English. There will be many more pronunciation videos to follow . I hope they help. Thanks for your comment
