Despite the urgency, adoption of these technologies has been slow. The study investigates how the positioning of farmers along irrigation canals (from upstream to downstream), water availability, and social costs influence farmers' decisions to adopt these technologies. This iterative process of re-thinking our organization and comparative advantage is really valuable. The danger is that it may translate on constantly re-writting our projects, negotiating with donors and partners, re-making project templates, making workplans, budgets, report dashaboards, etc. ....and that the most important asset of the CGIAR (i.e. human) spends most of its time on the process itself.
