Awesome, finally got the achievement. Following closely along until ~minute 16 in the video (~28min in-game), I was about 5 minutes in-game time behind, but it gave me enough of an edge to beat purple, orange and yellow without much issue. Ended up flooring green and blue with cannon galleons only.

A bit disappointing considering your usual talent to manage everything... but much closer to historical reality, a withdraw to the northern brythonic kingdoms and Wales and germanic-speaking Saxon roaming around.

Only way to win is save scum, I was lucky that they attacked the back of my town (bashing walls) and I had a lot of Siege Onagers. After I took out most of their army (my city still got owned) I just ran around the map with Cumans luring the remnants to the castles. I won with only 5 units left on hard.
