Hi Everyone and welcome to the channel.
We're an Irish AFOL channel based in Dublin originally created to catalogue the building of a new Lego City in a spare room of our house. However, it quickly became apparent that we needed more space to build the type of city we wanted so we moved to a new building in the garden and started to build the city all over again! We're going to try and capture all of the building steps for the entire build on the channel.
My interest in Lego started at 7 years of age when I got set 7740, 12V Passenger Train as a present and trains are still a big part of my Lego hobby. I'm trying to automate the new layout as much as possible using Arduinos that I will code myself to control Lego motors and third party motors in 3D printed Lego compatible housings. As I am an electrician by trade, well, it only made sense to also wire the city for lights which we're trying to do as we go.
I hope you enjoy the videos and all comments and suggestions are welcome.

HUGE Lego City Room Tour 04 - Long Overdue Update!
It's been TOO LONG! I'm back with a huge update of where we're at with the Lego City and now all the fairground rides and trains are working!.
Since the last update, we've added new Lego Storage, tidied the shelving and added a lot of sets to the city. The biggest set we've added is Barad-dûr and we're really happy how that looks side by side with the Disney Castle and Gringotts Bank. The design has also changed, yet again! This is to allow more modulars to be placed into the city later and to allow for a viaduct to be built across the sea level at the far end of the city. We've also added a few vehicles, like the Lego Delivery Truck and the Tour Bus.

Thank you for sharing this !!! I have exactly the same problem and will follow your very nice suggestion ! Many thanks and greetings from Portugal 🙂
Very nice! Where did you get the storage cylinder things? 🤔
2:00 - I thought my headphones were broken, but bro, it's the mic on your camera. One side of the stereo had issues. Same with the video where you put the coaster in the corner.
How tall did the coaster turn out to be?
Your fix is working well, but I found a way to solve the problem without adding pieces (I didn't have enough extra pieces): you just have to move the white pin that you can see at the top right at 4:10. You put it as the instructions say, but if you put it with the protrusion in the inside, instead that in the outside, the part will friction with the rotating wheel. It will almost stop it to rotate, so it will slow the elevator. I totally agree with you, you built it perfectly, and for that price, I expected more attention to quality by Lego
That's a GREAT idea for a LEGO City road sign. - Nice one!
Nice nice
Good video
Nice video! It's great you are back! I have an idea-maybe you can build a beach somewhere in the city.
Thanks a million! Yeah, I was hoping to fit a small beach in around the fairground maybe but not sure if I'll have the room!
WOW! YT just suggested this vid and I found your channel. What a GREAT set-up you've got. Love the Arduino control and your custom pull-out storage. It's also nice to see an epic LEGO City without an American accent attached to it ;) ! I've sub'd and I'm starting to look thru your back catalogue of videos, and noticed you've got 7740. It was the train set that I always wanted as a kid, and I finally got one a few years ago. I'm planning a LEGO City of my own, to build on my YT channel, but until then my Channel is mainly a lot of City set MODs, with quite a bit of Classic space thrown in! Glad I found you! - Cheers.
Thanks a million! Yeah, 7740 is my favourite Lego train, probably a nostalgia thing with me, the design is just great. Best of luck building your city, it's a daunting task! I just had a quick look at your channel and I like the look of some of your builds, like the tube train etc, looks great!
@@brictronic just seen you also have the other essential Train... The Metroliner !
Yeah, had to get it. I'll hopefully be getting the club cars for both 7740 and the Metroliner at some stage next year!
@@brictronic NICE !
The city is looking great 🏰🏢🏥🏗️🛤️🏠🏨🏘️🏘️🏘️🎢🎡🚁🛥️🛫🚦🌆
Nice looking city you have there
Thanks!
Model railway 'compression' philosophy 👍🏻 looks fab!
Calling majisto, mephisto is hilarious 😅
🤠 My bad 😂😂
Congratulations to LBB
Incredible work
what size is your garden shed
Hi, the Lego Room is 7m x 3.3m, 21 square metres (226 square feet)
The city is looking great, very cool layout with lots of diversity. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you too!
Welcome Back!! Great update!
Welcome back, great update, always improving, looks amazing, some grea5 ideas there. Keep up the good work
Amazing build! I was thinking about changing the motor to a quieter one - has anyone tried that before and can recommend something?
Thanks a million. All the Lego motors are quite noisy and it is something I want to look into myself but haven't had the time to spend on it.
My problem is, I can't get the train to make it back to the lift chain, the middle car always stops at the corner of the platform closest to the lift chain
Now join in with the new city robot coaster and make a mega coaster
Great idea, I ended up splitting them again but I've made the loop coaster twice the original size. Have the Robot Coaster ready to include in the city too.
@@brictronic gotta record a short or something if it and post it. I love your coaster!
And look who his attic neighbors are
Thank you! Your fix worked like a charm 🙏🏻
Thanks! Glad I could help.
Not fake. That’s like saying RC Cola is fake Coke… it’s just another company that makes carbonated caffeine rich soft drinks. Same goes for these plates. Be happy that there are other company’s (besides L) making building brick parts for less money.
How do you make sure you tie the dumb string right? I just knotted mine. They are tight but I’m not sure what I can do to make it more smooth without undoing it.
After you tie it, just a knot, then you should have loads of slack left that you can spool onto the counter-weight?
I bought mine used for $140 and I gotta say such an annoying set to play with. It looks beautiful on display, but I’ve seen the knock offs of this coaster floating around there are similar sets that just do more at way lower than this price. I’m happy I didn’t pay close to full price
Awesome!
Bonjour oui trouvé le rail gris cordialement
The song
You made a jojo refrence
yeah this was helpful but another problem im having is it gets stuck on the track itself, its not going the whole loop
If that's happening, it could be one of the axles on the cars is slightly bent. That happened me and the cars wouldn't do a full run.
Very nice
Hey there! I just found your channel and already watched a few of your videos and have noticed that the Cafe corner hasn’t changed. When is it going to be built?
Hi, thanks for the message! Honestly, I haven't fully decided on where I'm going to place the cafe Corner and I am easily distracted with other builds around the city. BUT, I will decide on where it's going and hopefully continue the build this year!
Looks great 👍
You have to put it at the right level😂
I'm fairly new to Lego but I got to say this is freaking brilliant!!! Easily one of the best MOCs that I've seen!
Thanks a million! Great to get the feedback.
Great city!!
I think you should make the head in white and the mouth plate in a light blue and make the hands in black
i added two more bricks to the counterweight and it was a great fix
Im having similar issues it keeps breaking apart loads and only had it line up and successfully complete the layout a few times mainly for me it breaks apart where you showed at the top and the big loop does aswell i can live with the breaking apart every 5 times round the track it does but its quite annoying having to push the train from the lift to the connecting track ill give this a go tho thanks
if it Jeeps working then keep it together but if it has a toi important issue on it or an issue you re incapable of fixing then i would sparte them to make two roller coasters seperate
I found out what the problem with this is and I can bet 99 percent of people here. The coaster needs to be put on a perfectly level table. When I moved it to my display table the weight would do same thing. I would move it back to my building table and it would work perfect. Finally I got a level and sure enough my display table was off by the slightest tiny tiny bit and that causes the counterweight to lean one way or the other. U can use this method but just realize it most likely your own fault.
I just discovered your channel and I really like your city. Looking forward to more updates.
Thanks a million! Appreciate the message.
Hi. It's my first time visiting your channel. I would like to just say how cool your roller-coaster is. It is so nice seeing you go beyond and incorporate it into your environment in such a creative way.
Thanks a million! It took a while but we're really happy with how it has all turned out
super fun setup
Looking class, keep up the good work
Great city! Will you tile the water in the future?
Hi, thanks! Yep, I'll be tiling all the water areas, hopefully this year we'll finish the port.
