This might be so late and im so sorry Bert, but in case you are still active I wanted to ask if you'd consider these an upgrade from the Emu Teaks. I have a chance to buy Z1R for a very good price ($400). But I mean setting aside such a deal, if both headphones were $1 and you could only choose one, what would you feel has more value? I am looking for an all arounder as I listen to all types of genres (hip hop, r&b, nu metal, rock, jazz, electronic noise and whatever Bjork is) not only that but I spend most of my free time watching RUclips videos, movies, or gaming. I love the bass, but I am willing to give some of that up if the imaging and sound stage on the Z1R is that much better for things such as gaming and listening to live performances. I play a lot of horror games, and wonder if a pair of Z1R's as a daily driver would make each creek that much scarier. Appreciate any inputs!

Hi Bert! I got my pair of MDR-Z1R based on this review about three years ago, and I absolutely love it. I really look forward to your coming back! Can’t remember how many times I revisited your videos. Seeing that you are still responding to recent comments make me feel that I must tell you this. Your videos are humorous, enjoyable, and so on-point with really valuable opinions (not the “rate everything 7/10 for safety” type). I’ve watched many headphone reviews in the past four years, both in English and in my native language Chinese. There are other in-depth, more hard-core professional reviews that I like, but your videos are on another enjoyable level.

it's funny to listen to headphone recordings through headphones the soundstage was a good thing to point out that is definitely quality you can pick off that, but overall sound signature is modified through headphones you listen to :D Yet I'm not gonna lie HD800 sounds pretty great through HD650 :D they all sound like crap through th900 XD

They may look and feel fragile, but I had mine for around 15 years and they survived various falls without much issue. Their main Achilles heel are the ear pads, which will disintegrate after a couple of years of regular use, but KOSS sells replacements for around $5 for 3 pairs.
