Thank you! I am just seeing your comment. Jonas is now 20 years old. He graduated high school in June 2023. He plans on becoming an electrician. Just waiting to get into an apprenticeship program. He is pure joy!

From his home country to a very strange and foreign place with strange people, that'll take some getting used to I bet. Sure would be interesting to hear from the child's point of view at some point in the future, how he felt leaving his home country and how he feels now. Glad you adopted him, seems like a great kid.
That was such a beautiful, touching video. Jonas looks very happy. It is nice to see an older child get adopted. I hope all is well with your family.
It is really nice but there are also so many American children who are desperately in need of parents. Why not adopting an American child? I am really curious about that choice.
We would LOVE to adopt from the US! We plan to do that in the future. We actually looked into foster to adopt route before deciding on China, but we didnt meet all the requirements. We still dont. God knew our child was in China. Cant imagine our lives without him! He was just meant to be!
Jonas looks like a real good young man. Now he has a big family who loves him and cares about him.

Thank you so much! He has been home 18 moths now and is still doing amazingly well! He is pure joy! He speaks fluent English, currently reads at a 5th grade level (he only knew a handful of English words and less than half the alphabet when we met him), loves his family , and loves life! He has been the biggest blessing to us all! Oh, and boy has he grown! He is 8 inches taller, 30 pounds, heavier, and healthier than he's ever been!

We plan on updating soon. Jonas has adjusted better than we could of imagined. He is pure joy!

He has adapted beautifully into our family. He is a GEM! He is the kindest, sweetest boy and our family has truly been blessed! He knew very little English. Just a few words. He has been home almost 8 weeks now and is already reading Dr. Seuss books. He starts school tomorrow.

Thank you! In China, children age out at 14. His time was running out. Yes, older child adoption can be very challenging. Our son has been the poster child for older child (out of birth order) adoption. We are so glad that we didn't let fear get in the way!! We could have missed out on the most joyful child who has taught us how to appreciate EVERYTHING in life!
