For years I scaled the carp and then cut between every rib bone to the backbone and then the tail section I scored about every 1/8 inch cut it in three or four inch sections battered it with flour egg and cornmeal and deep fried it it. But later on I started filleting them and pulling the skin off and then removing the mud line vein you find in the bloodline taking that out takes the muddy taste out of the fish. Then I would take and cut the fillets in slices about a quarter inch wide and then put them in my batter and fry them like french fries don't have to mess around with any bones that way and it Cooks all the why Bones out, very delicious. My neighbor knows I bass fish so I brought them over a platter of deep fried carp fries in about 10 minutes later he brought back the platter and said that was the best bass he ever tasted. And I said that was carp Johnny he says can't be carp there was no bones. It is good to see people realizing the value of this fish.

Nice video bud :-) use the same method for morels and fish… but some recommendations, try them out, lmk know what you think… first of all soak those fillets overnight in milk, then when using crackers for batter, toss crushed crackers in a ziploc, crush with hammer, gives a better coat… when frying up, try using Irish butter… the good shit my guy ;-) Try it…lmk man… if you ever wanna go fishing together hmu home skillet I am not far from ya 🤙

New sub. Know this is an older video, but I'd like to add a few tips. one is cut the mud line out of the carp first (the vein on each side of the carp). Second if you want to really enjoy the carp then cut slits in the upper section of the carp where the Y bones are and then fillet it or cook it whole. This may change the outcome of what you think of carp.

those are good for fish tacos too i bet, i caught me 10 slab rockies yesterday and doing it the same but i use panko ,hope to get some nice fillets out of those slabs ,you use salted crackers? ,been along while i have not tasted rock bass so i hope they are good cause i was not sure last time i had one if it was too mealy or muddy or fishy tasting,,hopefully not ,man they are fun to sight fish and the fight is fun and they hit hard enough to see the bobber go down too unlike others that eat quietly and you would not know it less you see it

We rip the gills out to bleed them. Also, scoring the fillets before frying makes the bones “cook out”.

carp is the most farmed fish in the world only few countries like Australia american such give them term trash fish. when I get one I cut gills both sides and all blood gone. As for bones y bones are hard to remove

I never knew you could eat rock bass. Thought there wouldn't be much meat, like a bluegill or shellcrackers (redear sunfish). I always use nightcrawlers to catch rock bass. Fun little fish to catch. They hit hard.

I hear that you don't take out the bones out of the fish when it's raw. It breaks apart the somewhat few bones into a lot more smaller bones. It's better to take them out when it's already cooked as they won't break apart as easy

As a proper carp angler I couldn't bare to kill one or see one killed eastern Europeans steal and eat our carp in the uk it's shameful.

My fox pod cost a hundred pounds here in the uk .Good idea but in the uk fishery owners can be insistent on bank sticks or pods and some won't let you on if you don't have any carp antiseptic for their lips can't blame them when fish are worth hundreds and some thousands of pounds.so a home made pod like this they wouldn't let you use it.good idea though.

Add some betalin ,betaine in if you can add some amino Acids carp love aminos and can detect the main 5.Yeasts drive carp mad as does powdered bovine blood.spurilina does too.If you make pineapple glug put some N.Butric acid in you only need a tiny bit they love it.Had loads of success in the uk when field testing baits.
