It could mean that Link is only playable in the prologue (obviously). However, if we take into consideration further deeper, we may be looking into one of 2 approaches. Let’s look at Paper Mario, once you complete a certain section of the story, you’ll be transported to a “meanwhile” section where players have to control Princess Peach as she sneaks around the castle gathering information that will aid Mario in his quest. Meaning, Link would only be playable in certain sections of the game. The other approach could be in the same style as in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser’s Minions. Once you’ve played certain sections of the base game, you’ll have access to continue the story in the perspective of Bowser’s underlings. It could mean that once Zelda progresses through a story, players will stop and switch to the perspective of Link’s journey throughout the gap between dimensions. At least, that’s how I see Nintendo pulling this off, all for keeping Zelda at the forefront of the game. I wouldn’t really expect it to implement the “which journey should you follow?” mechanic. Unless it really wants to compete with OCTOPATH, then the way I see it could end up limiting Link’s playability. I do expect an overview trailer in the weeks before release.

I’ll try to keep tabs on this one. But I’m wondering if we’re getting anything Zelda-related in the launch lineup for “Switch 2”. Kinda hope it’s not going to be a “deluxe” package for the Era of the Wilds titles… Those already had their glory on Switch, and given the sales of both, users can just receive next-gen patches for little to no extra cost… Should backwards compatibility be possible… They better not repeat the past with how long it took the Wii U to gets its Zelda games, including Breath of the Wild at the end of its cycle…

So the idea of Echoes being a Princess Zelda-only game is no longer the case here. I’m okay with that. I mean for a mainline title to keep Link entirely in the sideline, would’ve just had it as a spinoff. Kinda glad that he remains playable… but much playability do we have with him? I still want my Zelda-only spinoff. Only the next time Zelda becomes playable, no Ganon, no Link, just neither at all… Just my favorite stomping troll from Smash Ultimate in her magical prime. :) Good-Feel, I hope you consider this too. Or Bandai Namco, because they practically designed her by order of Mr. Sakurai… or maybe just… (random mumbling)

I kinda hope that Link is only slightly more playable in this game than Peach is in Paper Mario.

A lot of Zelda games have a mechanic where you switch between different world states. Like going between two time periods, between four seasons, between 3D and 2D, etc. So this game will probably have a mechanic where you can switch between Zelda and Link, with Zelda in Hyrule and Link wherever he is.

Man, if that was the case it would be similar to older RPGs that I vaguely remember. Where one person dies/is trapped and the plot instantly switches to a new set of characters as a Team B. Team B eventually comes to Team A and can work together. (I believe Luminous Arc is one of those examples as well as one of the Neptunia games. There are a couple even older games but they escape my memory.)

This reads more like a translation error to me. The description clearly says at the beginning that players play as Zelda in this game, not "Zelda and Link." I think the focus sentence here is trying to say "Zelda does not fight in the same way as Link always does. Where Link is a character who fights with a sword and bow, Zelda will instead be summoning creatures and objects to fight."

It sounds like we will be playing link and zelda again like we did in spirit tracks. That's amazing its been so long since we played both of these characters again. I'm looking forward to this game alot and getting the hyrule edition switch light. I'm hoping to see more trailers for echoes of wisdom. Now I want to know more about this game and how will switch from zelda to link.

I'm predicting an official plan to release it in november along with the new mario-game, so that people plan on buying it. And then releasing it in may like last time, so that people maybe buy the new mario game with a switch-oled to holidays for those who fail the marshmallow-test, and then release the switch pro in the spring.

Finally, a Zelda game where we play as Zelda

This may be not the case, but any Zelda remake/remaster announced in this direct… BOOM! All possibilities of others coming out for Switch are blasted into pieces… And from there on, would there be any point of having these in the existing Switch from this point on? And let’s be real, the Oracle titles, Minish Cap, and A Link to the Past have already been made available in NSO. Nintendo is not going to bother… A Link Between Worlds may have a better chance. With Nintendo, everything they announce is a DOMINO EFFECT! I still want my ideas for this playable Zelda game to come to fruition, but even when it’s not in the direction that I would hope, I would still want to see it happen.

YES!!! It's time for wind waker HD and twilight princess HD to come out on the switch this year we've been waiting for these games to come out on the switch for a long time. Its time for these games to come out on the switch this year. Next year will be Ocarina of time HD to come out on the switch with the switch 2 who knows they could have a switch Ocarina of time combo pack. Soon after that we will get other zelda classics like the Oracle games, link to the past, link between worlds, maybe phantom hourglass and spirit tracks. Nintendo needs something huge to get the hype going...Metroid Prime 4 needs to be shown. A new zelda like a link to the past but double in size etc

I think, there will be 2 nintendo direct left for this year, one in june 2024 and another probably around november 2024. In june will be for big games, big studios and around november will be an indie world. The last Nintendo direct in June 2024, I think they will announce more remasters and probably an announcement for one last big game like Nintendo usually does at the end of their console's life. I think they will announce metroid prime 4 for the end of the year 2024, retro compatible switch 2 with 4K patch or HD patch. I think Nintendo will give us a complete presentation of the next switch between september to november 2024 for a release in March 2025. Is it possible they release the next console on March 10? March 10 (Mar10) it's the Mario Day. What I would like to see in the next Nintendo console. - A better, smaller dock. - The placement of the Select button - this button is small and blocked by the joystick. - Adaptive triggers for new joycons or a new pro controller with adaptive triggers like on the PS5 Dualsense controller - Better HD rumble - Magnetic joysticks to prevent joystick drift - M.2 Mini SSD storage - A better menu with customizable wallpapers, customizable folders and customizable sounds, like we had on 3ds but with our own pictures.
