Character depth, plot, music, graphics FF6 was way ahead during its time Still impressive even close to 30 years on Mad respect for the production team
If y'all like that you'll LOVE this. Here's what someone was able to remake the entire ending piece with a full 40-piece orchestra using modern libraries. It took him half a year. How he was able to enhance the epic parts is incredible. Just give it a chance. Halfway through your jaw will be on the floor and by the end there'll be tears in your eyes. ruclips.net/video/LY84R7zcYpI/видео.html
While I love the remastered, pixel remastered, orchestral remaster and all the modern interpretation of FF6's ending theme, I still prefer the original SNES soundtrack to it. It still holds high value to my ears. Favorite sections are Gau all the way to Shadow in particular Locke and Celes - their storyline tugs at the heartstrings and the music works!
7:25 and Terra has to be the saddest part. She is half human, with the espers leaving the world she will be able to remain. But she loses her family forever.
The translation to Shadow's portion is better in the GBA port. He says something like, "Baram...I'm tired of running. Come find me, will you?" I find that much more impactful and sad.
Damn, Shadow is such a attention whore. Everyone's themes are just chilling and mostly lighthearted and then Shadow's theme goes full dramatic soap opera music. (I know he can potentially die if left behind, I was just kidding)
Im here in 2022 and i greatly love these game so much, played all FF till dissida which was the best of the best because they brought back all those amazing characters
To explain the "unlogic" of Shadow ending himself after the finale (and explaining a theory there): It's been said that Shadow basically "paid his debt" after the finale. You may wonder, what debt? For that I have to talk about a theory, about who Kefka is and what the game hints at in colloration to Shadow. You see.. Kefka apparently is a brainwashed Baram(!), the friend and possible lover (Shadow might be bi, its unconfirmed so dont look too deep into that) of Shadow at that time who asked Shadow to rather kill him instead of being used for experiments by the empire back then. Shadow didn't do it and left him back and we never get clairvoyance on that case. And now think about it: Shadow was in relation with the Gestahl empire, Shadow and Kefka were never really in one scene.. UNTIL the floating continent where HE out of all people kept Kefka at bay so the party could escape, and the case that you could let Shadow die there also feels to some extend (even if it isnt meant to be that way I think) like a deathwish for him to either be killed by Kefka or "end his despute with him". When you have defeated Kefka once and for all, Shadow basically had lost his will to go on, not only because he killed so many people due to his job and his guilt of letting Baram becoming Kefka, but also because with all he did, he didnt think about being a father for someone so innocentlike Relm, even if Strago might have supported him with that and such. That's also why his final moments are with Baram.. because he never got over what happened to him because of him. Also another reason to end himself might be, because of what he told Terra at one point, that he "killed" his emotions (even if it sounds kidna edgy/over dramatic) and that no one else should repeat that move, that he feels unworthy or unable to be a father figure for Relm that way. Also Kefka & Baram having the same hair colour can support that, and we dunno if Baram actually lost an eye or if its just an eyepatch for example for shooting etc.. Also one soldier mentioning that Kefka apparently wasn't "always like that" and that he one day appeared in the empire as Gestahl's servant kinda hints at that theory too. There are probably more hints about Baram being Kefka or Shadow being around the empire and such but those are just some allegations I have for this, so let me know if you caught "more of that theory".
Its just heavily implied. Now, if you want to be more positive, he survived and started a new life, but he cut his ties with the other party members. That or he died, either is possible.
With the success of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, we are one step closer. Seven was good but Six was the first Final fantasy for me. I've been waiting for a remake of it. With what I've seen in ff14 and now FF7R. I rest knowing it's in good hands. It feels like Squaresoft night be back.
Relm's theme segueing into Shadow's breaks my heart to pieces everytime. Death of Aeris has nothing on this, Shadow had a reason to live after all, and he never knew. Before anyone says anything, I'm aware of the cut scene between Strago and Shadow, and I really wish it had been left in.

greatest FF game ever
Definitely one of the best Final Fantasy titles in the series.

They did shadow so dirty here.
Ikr. Thankfully there's a mod called Divergent Paths that has him live at the end
Edgar flipping off the camera after Sabin's scene always made me crack up
Setzer fell in love with Lady Luck. You might say she’s just always out of reach. ❤

Shadow brings a tear to my eye every freaking time. God, I love this game.
8:20 Terra into Relm's theme is my favorite part. Hits me in the nostalgia feels pretty hard.
God damn. Still tear up at the Celes/Locke section
こんなのあったんだ…
9:16 that music changing...
when the Umaro piece hits...UWAAAAAAAGH
1:30 - I'm pretty sure Setzer was cheating...

This shit is the absolute cream of videogame arts, to convey so much with so little tech.

Uematsu says this is his favorite score and you sure can hear it.

If they ever remake this gem, I wanna be a part of it as a game dev student myself
SPOILERS Wait a minute so Shadow still dies even if you save him or not, that's shitty
Its just heavily implied. Now, if you want to be more positive, he survived and started a new life, but he cut his ties with the other party members. That or he died, either is possible.
@@setro5582 True, true but since we never got any spin offs or sequels like FF7 we may never know.
Who else accidentally let shadow die so his part of the music hit even harder than normal :((
大好きで未だに何度も聴いてる。
There's so much soul in this game. Brings back so many childhood memories :')
ジョセフベンチャーズすきなんですね。素晴らしい。日本でも聞きたいです。
この歌手凄い👩🎤ね。完璧なベンチャーズソングうたってますね、かっこ良い。
Aw terras bit with the dangling necklace and the martini glasses is so elegant

WOW that black leather outfit
<3
They killed GoGo...
we all here to hear Gau theme merges with celes
Nothing sounds as glorious as 2:17 kicking in.
"SHADOW AS SHADOW"... damn straight.
シャドウのテーマが泣ける
The part that begins with Gau and end with Locke's theme always get me. So beautiful and sad at the same time.
What if sabun adopted gau as his son and student
