      @@martinidry6300 I've met some really nice lovely women in my life. The woman who I dated before the one I married was quite a lovely and decent person, I just wasn't ready to get married yet. The one who I did marry I also felt was a nice decent person but that was the act. She turned out to be a covert narcissist which I didn't know what that was at the time. No quite as violent as Amber Heard but every bit as conniving. These"people" are pure poison who bring you down on a daily basis. My takeaway is that everyone needs to understand cluster B personality disorders and heal any wounds from childhood.

    • @martinidry6300
      @martinidry6300 2 года назад

      @@brianwalsh1401 You have my sympathy. It happened to me once. Professor Higgins was right = "I will never let a woman in my life". Consequently, I retired at 45. I live fairly frugally but very comfortably, alone, stress free and haven't aged much at all (I'm 57). I indulge my love of reading and painting andspread no trouble around me. I look at the wreckage created by scheming women primarily and fickle men secondarily and am relieved I read things right from the outset.

      @@martinidry6300 Hey if it's working for you and you're content than that's all that matters and I wish you all the best. We have to be careful about who we invite into our lives. Having that experience with a narcissist slapped the naive off me and gave me a wakeup call to who these people are in the world. I was brought right down to the ground and started working on my issues because of it which I doubt I would've done without that pain. So there was some good to the story. I was lucky and got away, my sister stayed for 27 years and is destroyed. It's ironic because of what you said because he's a cerebral narcissists and thinks of himself as "the absent minded professor" even though he is an assistant in an old folks home. I actually bought his schtick and so did my sister for many years until I figured it out. She still doubts it even though she is a shell of her former self. You can't make people believe anything. Good luck my friend.

    Another good..but oh so sad and touching moment was at the end of the funeral. Steve Stone said towards the end of his book "Where's Harry?"...that at the end of Harry's funeral as they carried him out the organ started playing very slowly.."Take me out to the Ball Game". Stone at that moment lost it and balled. Upon reading that, the tears came a coming from me too. Great book.

    For those of us seeking the meaning of life, here it is. This is the message of a lifetime. Friendships and relationships are what make humans fulfilled and happy. Harry was rich, and famous but what mattered at the end was friendship, kindness, and generosity. I saw this tribute years ago, I keep coming back to it because there is no better example of the meaning of life. “If you have a friend, take time and tell them, I love you my friend, because in the end, our friends are all we have” paraphrasing, may be an error in there, but forgive me I’m drunk on Budweiser. This speech by Pete is a tribute to Harry but also a tribute to humanity. It’s beautiful. To friendship. To Harry and Pete up there together.
