Cloudland Canyon State Park Georgia
Let us take you along to Cloudland Canyon State Park in Georgia. We went here for Mookie's birthday, and though it was raining when we headed out, it turned out to be an amazing weekend spent with family! Cloudland Canyon has a lot to offer. Two campground areas located on the East rim and West rim, with the West rim campground being a little more desirable. Many hiking and biking trails, waterfalls, and gorgeous views for the ultimate camping experience!

      It was likely ours that you're looking at! We traded it in recently for a larger model Lance. The 1575 was a great first travel trailer for us, and helped us "learn the ropes" to RVing. We LOVED that travel trailer, but wanted more room for more long-term trips. We had no major issues with that particular RV which is why we stuck with the Lance brand. We have heard great things and horror stories with all RV manufacturers. Good luck to you!

    Ahhooorah! Once...Always... GREAT video. Oh, you can get replacement windows for that front door. They are clear but have a similar shade to your windows as a blackout. My wife wants a travel trailer for her Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk that has the six cylinder with the trailer package. We have a 28 footer with slide trailer and truck but she wants a weekender and has her own money so... It would sure be a lot fewer logistics and we can get more places here in Montana with this. I heard you can flip the axle on this to get a few inches more height. I did that once on a 22 footer. Anyway, she has her Cherokee limits for payload (1000 lbs/surpisingly good) and weight 4500 lbs towing, AND she has her "requirements" and hates single aisle units with the dogs having to back up to move and most important is a "DRY" bath. This is about the ONLY unit I have found that meets her minimum requirements and the Cherokee's weight limits. IMHO, this is the best use of space I have ever seen in a travel trailer. It packs a lot in a small space and Lance's are made well also. A dealer that replaces a fridge in a few days? You are lucky. She runs through water like a fish (get it) so that will be an issue, but I warned her... Thanks for a great and certainly in depth vid on this unit. Very good hitting all of her points for sure. Good decision on the weight distribution hitch. People do NOT realize how they can reduce stress on a driver because ONCE the trailer attempts to drive the vehicle like with a wind gust, the driver ever after has to up their level of awareness when driving and it will wear on you after a long day driving. I had to get a bigger truck to address that with the big trailer. We do long trips as I'm retired and she is partially. But, we have a lot of "secret" places here in MT that the big trailer can't get to and this would for weekends, three days trips. Once recommendation for you is to get the smallest portable gray tank (GET RHINO ONLY/Orange and black ones) and that will extend your time out as it will drain two thirds of your gray water and still be manageable by two people. They can also store (empty) on the back of the trailer with an adaptation. Gray water is always the weak point in trailer water systems. But not having a truck could be an issue, but the RHINO ones are very well designed (As in do not leak), can even tow at slow speeds on the hitch of your car to get to a close dump station in an RV park or go in the back of an SUV if a bit further to dump. GRAY WATER ONLY. I've been camping my whole life.

      Thanks for watching! Hope your wife gets exactly what she wants! Mookie and our daughter took this travel trailer out by themselves, and did well with it. It's the perfect amount of space for one person, weekender, etc. We have since purchased a larger model as we were traveling with 3 adult size people and 2 dogs. It worked well for a first travel trailer for us, but wanted something bigger and for longer trips. Happy adventuring!!

      The Schwintek slide recommends fully extending the slide or fully retracting the slide when operating. The manual does not indicate what could happen if you don't, however, other RV forums have stated it could affect the slide track, etc. I would recommend researching more information on the Swchintek slide rooms. We, at times, did not fully extend or retract for your exact same reasons and never had a problem.

    The door is not supposed to touch the awning and if it does its because the awning is not adjusted correctly, you need to adjust it with a 5 mm allen wrench. Contact your dealer for additional info.

    Awesome video!! We also made a velcro/cloth cover for our door window, but it has an foil insulation cloth in the center, since we camp in thr interior west where the temperature swings 30 degrees daily. We use a Dollar Tree plastic bowl in our sink to conserve water and put the rinse water in a home depot bucket for putting out our campfire, since we usually have no hookups. We have extra storage space by putting two flexible laundry baskets from Walmart in the shower. It only takes a moment to move for showering. I recommend waxing the trailer twice a yera with New Finish. Out trailer looks like new and is stored in the desert sun. I also reccomend using 303 rubber seal protectant on all the window and hatch weather seals. We had several leak problens on the roof skylights, vents and windows, so check after ir rains and inspect the roof and windows yearly. Caulking the winows with flexible caulk is easy. Check below winow at bed for moisture after the rain. We had black mold grow under bed after an undetected winow leak. Lance is made an hour and a half away, so at least we did not pay to ship a matress.

    I'm so happy for these nice follks that they got a good 1575 before the company went down the drain. I've had a 1575 on order since mid-September that I am now cancelling. The company had been heavily touting a new frame, suspension and other changes for 2022 so I held out for that. I verified all of that info with the regional sales manager 7 weeks ago as the news about internal problems with this company was making me nervous along with the total lack of updated information form Lance. I now find out (and only because I badgered them) that the model I ordered will not have a new frame, suspension, skylight in the kitchen or even a stove vent. No stove vent on a 20' single axle trailer that stickers for over $57,000?!! Mind you this is 5 months into the process and probably 6 weeks or so from anticipated delivery and they pull the rug out on major things like structure and suspension. You won't hear this anywhere else because Lance has so little respect for their customers that they won't even update their website to show so much as a photo of any 2022 model or least of all update weights or anything like that. My sales person didn't even know what I knew about the product he was selling so the indifferent disrespectful treatment by Lance extends to everyone. Please remember that this is not the Lance company of old. Lance has been purchased by the Rev Group and the product and company are no longer what you may be expecting. The production units that I saw had fit and finish issues, sloppy caulking inside and out, no interior skylights, no stove vents, cheap looking and feeling upholstery, huge gap at the door and chinese tires. These were the things that I could see and it makes me wonder how cheap they went on things that I can't see. The camper no longer felt premium and had a certian "corporate coldness" to it. So I'm out and won't part with that kind of money for a company that treats it's customers like Lance does. I refer to the last 5 months of dealing with Lance as being in an absuive relationship. The lack of care, engineering and the apparent incomptence at every level of Lance is breathtaking. This is my experience and I have been incontact with others on Lance forums that have had the same experience or worse. At the moment Lance is riding an inflated market that won't last forever. They are also trafficing on the reputation they inherited when the company was purchased. Soon, they'll have to rely upon the reputation that they earn. That should prove interesting.

    We have lived on a sailboat for years, often months away from fresh water. We learned/invented some water-saving methods. 1. Use less soap. 2. Use a collapsible basin smaller than your sink to wash dishes - you will \use less water. For rinsing, fill a liquid squirt bottle with fresh water and use sparingly. 3. For showering, get a showerhead with an on/off switch, so you can turn off the water while lathering up, and just use the shower for rinsing. (Uses less than 1 minute of water per person.) 4. Buy a few solar showers for rinsing doggies outside. We could live on 75 gallons of fresh water for 6 weeks. (Of course, we had salt water toilet flushing.) You can do it!

    Hi Folks, thanks for the detailed overview. I've been thinking about getting this trailer. 1. Loctite for the screw threads - one time and you're done. 2. You can use your A/C with a generator (if you don't mind a little noise - though you may disturb neighbors). 3. With a portable water purifying system, you can take water from lakes, streams, ponds, etc. (not from mining runoff though). And rig up your gutters to capture rainwater in a collapsible, portable container. Then purify and add to your onboard tank. Thanks again, Jim Leute

    • @AdventuresofFlashandMookie
      @AdventuresofFlashandMookie 3 года назад

      The dinette length is 78". Our daughter who is 5' 5 1/2" fits comfortably. And even though it's 78", after seeing my daughter lie down there, I can't say for sure how someone 5' 11" would do. I guess it would depend on their sleeping position. While the cushions are comfortable to sit on, sleeping on them is rather firm. We purchased a custom made foam pad for her to use, and it works out great. It is a hassle sometimes to have to make up the dinette for use, and often times when we are away, we spend most of our time outside, so she just keeps it as a bed.

      @@AdventuresofFlashandMookie Thanks for the reply! I'm contemplating between this and the 1475 now (if my car's towing capacity would not limit it, I would likely choose something bigger, but I don't have much choice at this level). In the 1475, we can access the bathroom, but the slideout is much smaller. I think I would choose the extra space over the inconvenience of accessing the toilet. ;)

    What does the slide look like when it's closed how much room do you have

      When the slide is closed, there is no access to the bathroom. We have access to the bed, refrigerator, closet, sink, and the drawers in the kitchen. We can reach the panel for the tanks as well as the microwave. Thanks for watching and happy adventuring!
