66 Chevy Biscayne trunk lid rust repair

Here is a short video of me making and installing patch panels in a 66 biscayne trunk lid. I’m not a professional body guy and I’m probably not doing it exactly right. That being said I thought this video might inspire someone to tackle a similar project. Hope you enjoyed, and I apologize for the number of times I say alright.

    I thought in these years the pipe went low then came up at about a 45 degree angle with a short length at the end running horizonal.

      I have a 1974 ts 400 in very good shape what kind of ignition would it have it once in a while will kick back and send me over the seat when it's warmed up

    • @Erics-project
      @Erics-project 10 месяцев назад

      @@timothyscott6365 I believe the ts400 has a cdi. You may be able to retard the spark by turning your stator plate. I know that the TM400 was one of the first Suzukis with a cdi and the early one did the same thing when starting, and they could be very difficult to ride.

    Good information. I have a 63 Biscayne with the same issues. This video will help a lot. I haven't seen anyone use the bead roller like that with to die you used. I'll have to play with that. Doing the outside first is one thing I was wondering about. I would have liked to see how you closed your seam.

    • @Erics-project
      @Erics-project 2 года назад

      Glad you found the video useful. I used the male portion of the two largest beading dies that came with my bead roller, I believe I slipped one of the dies out one eighth of an inch to achieve the shape I wanted. I came up with this by playing around with the different dies on scrap metal. And for closing the seam I used my sheet metal brake and hand seamers to bend the lip just over 90 degrees. I followed it up with a body hammer and dolly to close it tight. If I get a chance maybe I can make a quick video showing the process.
