The Black Egg -up cycled bluetooth speaker
Here is a video of a how I up cycled a bluetooth speaker my son found in the street. I use these laser cut parts from a lamp I made using plywood from scrap parts. I try to show more of what I did than tell it. But there are some parts I have some text telling what happens. Don't no what else to tell.

Halloween Synth

Happy Halloween! Here is a demo of a noisy drone synth I built. It has a Halloween themed case. I named it Dr. Frank Z. the III. It has joystick to control all the parameters. One for mixing 4 waves, one "sawthootish" and three squares. The mixed waves go to a lowpass filter. One joystick controls the rise and fall of an LFO. The LFO is routes to the pitch of the VCO and the filter cut off. One...

Hi Here is a short demonstration/build video of a drum machine I built. It is based around two Arduino Nanos and the codes are from Look Mum NO Computer and Jan Osman's XR-10 drum module (links at the end). I has six voices and you can control the volume and pitch of each sound individually. The sequence length can be chanced from 1 to 32. And I build an internal clock for it and an Lm 386 amp ...

Stuff - Vola Yo (8 minutes of noise)
Просмотров 7992 года назад
Here is a short demo video of a noise maker I made. It's called Vola Yo. Yo being short for Ylioppilas (high school graduate). I don't remember why I thought it was a good name. Made the panel for this maybe 7-8 years ago, but when making it I did not notice that the switches used did not fit any protoboard or stripboard. So I left it for years. It kept hunting me in various places in my worksp...
Swedish furniture company hack for Eurorack

Here is a video of Swedish furniture company hack for eurorack. You can make a nice little skiff from a bambu tray they are selling. Have not seen anyone done this before (that does not mean that someone hasn't done it already :D ). It's around 56 hp and a the smaller one that comes with the package is 22 ph. They are 50 mm deep so only low profile modules. It very very cheap to build and easy....

Being Noisy - Circuit Bending Test Equipment
Me encanta
Thanks, this is a really clever hack!
You are welcome. Happy to hear this is useful!
Awesome video. I love this style where all steps are shown. I need to get better at making this style.
Thanks. Yeah I like watching videos that show the process and mistakes too. I think you can learn a lot from these types of videos. And the mistakes an solution for those can be the best parts sometimes. But it's a lot of work. For this one I filmed around 95 clips. Not all are in the video but almost.
Sounds rad
Thank you! Still really happy how it turned out.😃
so cool. If you ever make this available for purchase I will absolutely buy one.
Thank you. Well everything is for sale if the price is right. 😉
Hi. Saw a Guitar Pedal that you made being used on a Simon the Magpie video. I thought it looked and sounded great. very unique and interesting. Do you have any more Products? Love to check them out
Thank you. And thank you of being interested in my work. I have a noise maker on the works. I think there will be 3 for sale. And some of the things I have made videos on are for sale too. Let me know if any of them strikes a chord and would be interested in them.
nice sounds. beep boop.
Thanks! beep boop.
Cool! I circuit bent an old toy I just probed around got some good glitches. Lost interest. Prefer mixing shortwave..police scanner..baby monitor Korg synth modulator A multi effect sampler pizo contact mic field recordings.
Thanks! That sounds cool too!
Makeeta saundia ja tykkään kansikuvasta erityisen paljon! 💃
Kiitos. Olen kyllä vieläkin tosi tyytyväinen miltä tuo ep kuulostaa. Ja tuo kansi kuva kyllä kruunasi kirsikkana kakun päällä tuon konseptin. Parempaa kuvaa ei olisi varmaan voinut löytää.
I kinda love this.
Thanks! I am still really proud of it. Turned out great. I has took my too long to upload this here. :D better late than never.
How did you get a pitch for each button? I thought you would only need 1 pitch for each toy circuit. Please help me out to understand this I really want to make myself something like this. Thanks!
Hi The sequencer is controlling the pitch. So each step can have its own potentiometer (pitch resistor). I may or may not explain it somewhere in the video (can't remember any more :D). But in a nutshell the toys (in the cartridge) pitch resistor is removed and it is wired to go trough the sequencer in stead. at the end there is schematic that may open up how it works better than my explaning it here. Hope this helps you and good luck.
I'm aware I may be 6 years too late, however, it doesn't hurt to ask! Is it possible for me to buy one pre assembled? Please and thank you!
Hi thanks for the interest. At this point I don't have pre assembled and if I will make they will not be the exactly the same as this. But I am tempted to may be do a small run of slightly striped down version of this with a simpler case. We will see. If this is something you would be interested let me know.
@volanoisystuff2879 Absolutely interested, however I'd be waaay more enthusiastic if it were as close to the original as possible! I'd have to see this "more simpler case" and the final product and how it compares before I guarantee you my money lol!
@volanoisystuff2879 Thank you for the reply btw, that was really cool of you! I'd love to keep in touch, that way I can be close to the top of the lost IF you create any more amazing gadgets that you may want to sell!
In the right hands, this could probably save humanity.
You are absolutely correct sir! May the right hands come soon.
Pretty cool!
Thanks! Not sure how I missed this comment... Sorry!
do you keep your builds? do you build and sell?
Well if the price is right I will sell almost any of my projects :D I do sell and make custom orders from time to time. There are a few things I don't think I can sell and some I won't want to sell. I made some projects just to try circuits and they are not build in a way I would be comfortable to sell to anyone. But to some up: yes, I do sell them. :D
Very cool! Great job!! 🔥😎👍
Thank you!
Another awesome creation. I love it!
Thank you. When I saw the Intercom I know I had do something in it!
Great build! As someone looking to get into stuff like this with zero experience, where do you recommend I start in the world of diy synths and electronics?
Well there are a lot of small kits you could first try. Search for Atari Punk Console kit. That is a classic starter to electronics and synth making. Also the 40106 oscillator is a super simple first. And Look Mum No Computer has a good video on a super simple Oscillator too. He used it to make 1000 oscillators. But the kits are good starting point I think. And of course circuit bending.
Well done mate.
Thank you!
@@volanoisystuff2879 it wasn’t a courtesy I really thought you have one of the commercial machines with you, sounded like smth between Vermona DRM and Perkons:)) has some weird resonance I really like, is that the chip or what, I dunno.

I had a hearing test when I was a kid. I remember pushing buttons for when I heard these tonal sounds to say I could hear something, but the nurse and my mum looking up at me expecting me to hear something I couldn't. As an adult with tinnitus, it all sounds the same now 😂 I massively digress, I came here for circuit bending info, and for that I thank you! Still yet to start my first project, but I enjoyed this video all the same!! Thank you! P.s. Simon the Magpie sent me through algorithms, although I'm also subbed to look mum no computer...
Saw a 400 view video recommended to me, always gotta check that out! This things pretty cool!
Thanks! And thanks for checking.

I’m curious about the schematic for it to understand how it works. I’m learning about circuit bending myself.
I don't have a schematic for it, but it is based on the 40106 ic. If you google 40106 oscillator similar things should pop up. I just used all of the gates. 4 for audio and 2 for lfo´s.
can i be schooled by you?
Well I hope you can learn something from my videos. I will try and do more videos here I explain more and not just demo what I did.
ujje rekke
Not sure what you mean.
I have trouble believing this fell within a $70 budget. But it’s even more amazing if it did.
Thanks! Yes it actually is within the budget. I used some salvage parts to keep the coasts down. Like the metal faceplates where from our works spaces junk pile. And I think the faders where from an old mixing desk. And the case is from the recycling center. the laser cutting was free and the peaces I used where from the junk pile and offcuts from other people.
Imagine the kind of absolutely nuts shit Mr. Oizo could come up with if he had this thing...
somebody circuit bend this!!
Thanks! but there isn't much to bent. It's based on an Arduino so almost nothing to bend. :D

@@glnnk_art Yep. Thats the one.
@@volanoisystuff2879 nice! I‘ll get a few and try 3D printing me some rails
It's great! But how are you powering them?
There is no power on the one I made on the video. The other one has only modules that use +12 volts. so it´s semi easy to power with a wallwart.
Awesome! Is there a reason we are not naming the company by the way? I'm sure it's obvious to most but just curious.
No not really just trying to be a bit cheeky. And it looks kind of stupid this compared to the using the company name and I kind of liked it.
Very interesting. During the demo at the end of the video, it came to my mind that the kind of colors this circuit produces are similar to those that are common in industrial/noise music. Congrats, by the way.
Thanks!
Lovely little noisy box.!! 🤖👍
Thank you!
I'd like to know please what the pinout on the cartridges is. I see ground, 1.5, 3, 4.5, 6v, speaker, but how did you do the switches?
I explain everything on the video. I go thought the how to connect the buttons with a transistor on around 5.55 and the pins are mark on the same picture as the other ones around 8.29. They just did not fit under the cartridge picture. They are marked B1 etc. and I explain them too.
@@volanoisystuff2879 I have watched the video four or five times now and I understand what you say. I suppose my question wasn't clear enough. I just wanted to know the pinout of the sound cartridges. I wanted to know how you deal with the different kinds of switches like ST3P and momentary, etc. I understand it mostly now. Are you controlling all or just some with transistors? Thanks for the answer.
@@ryanbareither89 Ok I see. I don't remember the exact pin out anymore but I think it matches the one on the drawing, so the button controls are on the right side. There aren't that many ST3P buttons on toys, and this wound not be able to control them. The transistors are controlling momentary buttons. So I chose ones with only push buttons. I made one cartridge with had a ST1P switch and I just but that right on the cartridge.
@@volanoisystuff2879 thanks for the quick answer. I made a typo, I meant sp3t switch. I could make those as three individual switches. Thanks again!
@@ryanbareither89 No problem. Happy to help.

Nice one ☝️
Thanks!
This is awesome!! would be cool to make it so you could use two sound source cartridges for FM between them and then have another row in the sequencer to adjust the modulation depth per step.
Well it could be. It could be. I'd be really proud if it would be true.
@@volanoisystuff2879 your project was a genius move!! Sounds and looks just awesome \m/
