Chucky Boy Chock Band-Island Music
Просмотров 7 тыс.12 лет назад
This is a cut titled "Island Music" from the Chucky Boy Chock Band album. I used to listen to them at the Canoe Hut back in the mid '80s and even had the pleasure of meeting Chucky Boy Chock himself. Hope you enjoy it.
Both Kawika and Alvin Coit (bass guitar) now with our heavenly father.
This song brings back memories of me living in salt lake Hawaii when this album came out. I'm still looking for the song called the lake on home grown 1 LP!! It sings about the golf course coving up the lake at salt lake Hawaii!!🥲💔
One of my favorite songs
IT BRINGS BACK GREAT TIMES OF ALL THE BRADDAHS PLAYING MUSIC IN MY FRIENDS GARAGE. THANKS FOR THE MUSIC.
Thick horns, searing drums, sizzlin' synth, Pauline's electric, passionate delivery -- what's not to love? Thanks so much for posting.
😔😥🥺😢
Was listening to another song, that I loved as a kid on the Albums, then this came on and like when I was a kid, it made me choke up and want to cry. Love this song.
Mahalo for posting this song. It was the first song I wrote that I sang. Takes me back!
Beautiful song~
true story right here
Manhattan Transfer
Mr. John Kalani Lincoln..renegade but what a singing, song writing legend...to some of us Local boys and Women... I must have listened to his songs hundreds of times...My Fave is O Akua... and My Hawaiian Queen. I am HAPA...born in Hawaii...Watched Honolulu change and felt a great need to get away from the traffic..and high rises. I believe Mr. Lincoln and people born in slower times...found a great difficulty managing so much change...on a Island.. CK Coolhotels2000@aol.com comments?
Awesome tune! Thank you for the posting. This should be a Hawai‘ian Music standard and played and taught to keiki. This song tells the truth, not the BS that was taught to us in school.
Thank you! So many great memories growing up damn near brought tears to my eyes. I had this on cassette tape. It's rough getting old but hearing this music makes me feel young again even at 45 lol! God bless!!
I played in high school band with Art and Eric. I met Katie too. If I remember correctly, there was a special on TV of the Home Grown songs. Too bad those aren't available. I seem to recall that the scene for the video of this song was set by a river or stream.
Wow, thanks for posting this song. This was recorded by the Jensen family. Big brother Eric on bass, Arthur on drums, Katie on vocals and keyboards and Gordon Tokishi played the flute... Brings back a lot of great memories...
Shot in the dark, but do you still use this RUclips account? I noticed that the name on your page is the same one credited on this album, so I was hoping I could ask you some questions about it sometime. Cheers!
My favorite album of all time!!! Aloha for sharing your vocal talent with us Pauline!!!
Mahalo! Appreciate it!
I just happened to come across your video of I'll Remember You. Great stuff, nice pure voice.
I also love this album! Wonderful music! :-) <3
Just hearing the first few notes still send me "Home".... I see the Waianae coast, feel the sea breeze. The way I speak is not the way to talk... I had to learn to speak Mainland "Yeah" ;-) but my heart is in the islands, always.
Good times!
I remember being introduced and listening to *Chucky Boy* at Point Panic with my "older" friends from Papakolea...I'm speaking of the old Point Panic, when it wasn't really a park and the circus it is today....Great memories of weed, beer and empty barrels..!!!
I take it that you're referring to the album cover art. I couldn't find anything online so I dug up the albums. The artist listed on Home Grown I is Don L. Robinson. The artist listed on Home Grown II is Dwayne A. DeCorte.
Thanks for posting this! I had this album and this song was one of my favorites. So beautiful.
You're correct as to the name of the song and the artist, but it isn't one of the songs on Home Grown I and II. Sorry. :-(
Oops, sorry, maybe my memory is playing tricks on me. Or maybe the title is different? I think the artist's name was Miles Lee.
Sorry, that song isn't on Home Grown I or II and I don't have it either. :-(
I think it's from a Habitat for Humanity album in the 1970s maybe?
Another song I loved was "Blue Pacific Nights." It sounded Kalapana-ish. I haven't heard that song for ages! Mahalo!
Thanks! Let me know if you would like me to post a particular song from Home Grown I & II.
One of the best songs from the Homegrown series. Mahalo for sharing!
I searched for years without success and began to wonder if it was ever released on CD. If it was, people aren't letting go of them. I actually ended up finding a promo album on ebay. I can't remember exactly where the seller was located, but I do remember that it was some landlocked place on the mainland, which I found ironic. I've been posting the songs in their order on the album and was at number 3. Brown Man is the 6th cut but I went ahead and posted it for you. Enjoy!
Wow have'nt heard this guy in years ,can't even find his CD anymore ,would you have that surfing song ,Brown Man ?
I love this album.
This is my favorite song from the album.
Awesome song! Nice arrangement.
