A little scrap from the editing room. Felt this was just too long-form for a FGF ytp so I decided to abandon this sequence, at least in this elongated form. Figured I'd post it for giggles though.

Comparison between the two different cuts of Ishtar. Personally, I strongly advise against the DC - it's imo just a cheap hackjob, just a few minutes sloppily excised from Sony's existing HD master of the theatrical cut.

A small mistake I noticed whilst perusing the French dub. Guessing they missed that the effects weren't present as the rest of the scene prior is subtitled foreign dialogue and needed no dubbing.

The vast majority of this track is replaced in the film. The little that remains, mainly the little burst when the camera pans down to the jacket, has a ton of extra synth layered on top in the film and is close to unrecognizeable. Seventeeth track in album order, fourth track in film order.

Had to slow this one and pitch it down to get it to sync with the film version / credits. Future uploads of the soundtrack I'll try and keep it as it is on the album wherever possible.

This piece from Angelo Badalamenti's score to Tough Guys Don't Dance has long been infamous thanks to internet memes, but it hasn't really been properly uploaded before. Figured I'd rectify that.

Noticed that the soundtrack album for 1985's Commando had two cues from James Horner's score that ended up going unused and decided to sync them up for fun. 'Agency' confused me at first because I assumed it was from some deleted scene, but I eventually realized it was just referring to the car dealership.

1:54 Jamie Lee's face is right in the window, same height pretty much as Josh Hartnett, yet at 1:56 the top of her head barely comes to the window, than at 2:00 her face is back in the window face to face with Michael.
I think part of it is her leaning forward and hunching over a bit while she opens the door, the other part is evidently either she was standing on a higher floor or the door had been lowered when they set things up for the reshoot. The promo images of the KNB mask through the door you can see JLC is looking more up at him than head-on.
They deleted this scene because it was to reflective on the crimes committed against Native Americans.. Then turned around and recycled it for the ending in Gangs of New York in which it was the Irish, English and the rest of the Western nations being celebrated.. White people are crazy as hell!
The meaning of his words applies to Native Americans, but is so relevent to many of us feeling phased out... Could be a generational or religion application also. The message is ageless.
Turns out I typo'd "Existing HD master of the theatrical cut" into "Existing HD master of the director's cut". Disregard that!

The most powerful scene in the whole movie that is most often deleted from all copies of this movie. Don't miss it!!!
It's a very interesting scene indeed. It was cut at the last minute before release in theatres, so late that the music for it was still on the soundtrack album. The director restored it for the US/Canadian DVD releases, but it remained removed on the international DVDs + is now gone again on the streaming and blu-ray versions.

i have looked all over the internet and i cannot find a version of the ultimate cut that is region 2, or compatible with systems in europe, could anyone give their thoughts on this please
The reason the ultimate cut wasn't released in Europe is because no foreign language dubs exist for it. Theatrical cut was re-released on blu-ray instead because that's what all the dubs were done for. However! The North American Blu-Ray of the ultimate cut isn't region locked and will play on your player if you import it.

Hope so too. He uploaded some outtakes from the sausages scene and it includes some deleted dialogue revealing even that scene was majorly cut down. Originally Gord's dad smashed the keyboard out of anger at seeing a family photo desecrated - and he would've destroyed the ramp because a mix of spilt ginger ale and the sparks from the broken keyboard electrocuted the family dogs to death. Absolutely wild shit.

Weinsteins (Yes, THOSE weinsteins) were producers on the movie, and they're infamous for demanding lots of cuts and reshoots. They hated the mask when the first cut of the movie was screened for them, and they demanded they reshoot the movie with a new mask. They couldn't afford / didn't have the time to reshoot every scene though, so the film has remnants of the original mask by KNB FX in nearly every scene.

Two versions are identical. Oh boy, how radical, it's missing a frame or two or added an extra second there.
This is why VHS is the superior format and I wish modern streaming services would include VHS over BluRay versions. Look how much better the picture quality is. The colors look so vibrant and alive. The bottom picture is in widescreen sure, but in most shots you really aren't missing much anyway by losing the edges.
I think it’s a really old dub from the 90s they did in Turkey. Some of the words are hard to understand
What makes you think it's Turkish-based? I know the translator for the script, John Gayford, was British but lived in Italy. The credits say the voices were done by 'A.R.A. Cooperative' but I can't find any info.

6:05 I like how the music changes and becomes kind of tetric as he finally confessed what they did. He dismissed his words saying is "An old fool's rubbish" but it was the plain and horrible truth and the reason why his voice is full of guilt, regret and sadness. They killed him and they did it for the most petty and selfish reasons and that was an awful tragedy.
Real tragedy is that this film has never gotten a complete soundtrack release. None of the music from these scenes is on the album! Huge shame.

@@Emy-fv5ny Apparently Vangelis was iffy about releasing expanded scores when he was alive. Preferred a tailored/curated album experience (complete with tracks bleeding together / no clean cuts ughghhgg). Dunno if his estate will let them do more complete releases now, just wish he had come around on it before his passing. :(

The director of the movie, Junichi Hayama, confirmed that he was not the original director and he replaced the director who left the project. Originally he only did character designs. My guess is they changed the style a lot when he took over as director.
