Tweedford Cottage, Drumelzier Place Farm staycation February 2024
Просмотров 1624 месяца назад
In an elevated position set above the River Tweed with far reaching views down the valley lies Tweedford Cottage, named for the ford that crosses the river at the bottom of the garden. The wild and windy Scottish weather did not hamper our winter break here, instead we wrapped up well and enjoyed brisk walks around the local area, before retreating back to the cottage to warm up and dry off in ...

The Old School, Kingairloch Estate, Morven Peninsula
Просмотров 61510 месяцев назад
Nestled between the salty shores of Loch Linnhe and the granite peaks of the Morven Peninsula lies Kingairloch Estate - the perfect place to step off the treadmill, unwind, relax, take in the views and… breathe. An autumn break in The Old School was the perfect antidote to our busy lives and despite the inclement weather (it is Scotland after all!) we enjoyed a wonderful few days in this stunni...

Fiddle Hill Cottage, Hawick
Просмотров 1,7 тыс.10 месяцев назад
The Summer Bank Holiday Weekend ‘getaway’ means many things to many people, for us it meant ‘getting away’ from everything and everyone and we certainly managed to do just that at Fiddle Hill Cottage on the Priestrig Croft north of Hawick (Hoyk) in the Scottish Borders. This stunning log cabin has all the mod cons you could possibly need but in a traditional cosy country cottage style. Set in a...

Thanks for the vid, I just camped that exact spot and it was fantastic
@@sandovali_sepstein pleased you enjoyed the camp, nice little spot with great views and a bit of shelter.
Nice Videography ! Planning to summit this before winter starts. Hiked Ruberslaw and Minto last month.
@@chemmutk1 Excellent, enjoy the views when you get there, they are always worth the walk.
@@maverickd0g I sumitted it yesterday. I started at the Melrose Golf Club, descended to the pond, and walked along the road back to the golf club. thanks !
Great video thank you
Glad you enjoyed it
Hi, it looks awesome. Can I ask how big it is and a ballpark figure if you don’t mind.
This design ranges from £17.5k to £33k depending on what size you want, check the website/showroom has all the costs. It comes complete and is a very high standard. Tim the sales guy is brilliant and tailoered the design to suit your need, tell him Andy from Morpeth sent you and he’ll take care of you.
Amazing guys!
Cheers, they did a good job although it’s an off limits for me. Helen’s calling it the She Shed for her work rest and play

Wonderful! I could never tire of looking at that view! Thank you for sharing. .
Glad you enjoyed it, take care.
great video! were going here in a few days - how local are food shops to the site? and are there any activities?
Unfortunately we are walkers so apart from chilling in the tub and walking around the site we didn’t get up-to much more. Take care and I hope you have a great stop.
Beautiful! Hope you had an awesome stay. I'd need a step ladder too! :) Gorgeous area!
Thanks, it was a special weekend and we will go back shortly. There’s a small stool in the bedroom to give a leg up to those that need it.
I'm not envious, I'm always this shade of green
Looks ace. Must take a look one day
Hope to se yuo tomorrow
Looks idyllic guys.. what a lovely place to stay. Thanks for sharing ATB Steven
Thanks for your comments Steven, it was a lovely place to stay (a bit more luxurious than a tent 😉) and great to see a different part of Scotland! Take care 😊
As a youth (when jumpers were goalposts) I started my backpacking career in this area! I regularly return for walking and cycling to this beautiful area. Thanks for the great memories this video has given me 🙂👍
Thanks for comments, making and sharing memories is what these short videos are all about.
Great video footage with matching music, cheers 👍
Thank for the feedback, v.much appreciated. Take care
Beautiful 😍
Thank you, it is a fantastic area. 👍🏻
My 13th great grandmother was born there .
Impressive and worth a visit.
Anything could happen now hell seems to have frozen over...
Glad my stone arrow is still there!! Are you sure you were over the red wine?? Glad you enjoyed it but you need to go back and check out the burial cairn and 5 kings! All the best Pete
stone arrow, cheers showing us the way again…. Yep always up for another visit. Take care
After all the staggering about I’m beginning to think I was still drunk 😜 🍷 We definitely need to go back, but will try to get to the Five Kings from the other side, they are five standing stones to the south-east of the Trig Point, I think there is a trail passing Dues Hill Farm and a disused quarry which takes you right passed the stones, so watch this space 😉
Brilliant. I hate walking through heather, always ends like this.
Walking in heather is always interesting, you never know what your going to get. At least it’s normally a soft landing. Take care
I love the way your dogs appear to ignore the drone and don't go crazy at it!! Nice film.
Thanks for feedback and they are happy with the drone, it’s always following them somewhere new. Take care.
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the shout out. I’ve been back and walked it a second time. Saw some wildlife, it’s a quaint little village.
If you ever head back that way try the Rocking Horse cafe at Rock Midstead Farm, we missed it on walk the but it’s just off the trail and worth a visit. Agree it is a quaint little village and will revisit in the spring/summer.
@@maverickd0g you’ve read my mind, I was just going to say all it lacks is a coffee shop !! Will definitely have a dodge in.
I stayed at Rock hall as a teenager. It was a youth hostel at the time. Lovely day for a walk.
It looks like a great building, must have been fab as a YH. Thanks for the info. Take care
Loved it Andrew & Helen…thanks for sharing absolute soul warming stuff in the Cheviots…ATB Steven
Thanks and take care out there.
Great high quality video. Thank you for sharing. This castle belonged to Sir John Selby, my ancestor. His family owned it in 1537 and soon began to restore it. They lived there for the next ~130 years. By the 1760's it was later owned by Sir Francis Blake who made additional renovations to it for the next 50 years by demolishing the tower, clothing the building with a ‘Gothick’ masonry skin and adding turreted wings linked by a corridor giving separate access to the hall and chambers. Eventually, the five-story castle was deconstructed down to the original two story structure by the Blake family when they decided to move to the opposite side of the River Till to build Tillmouth Park House, which is a hotel today. I hope to visit both someday.
Hi Jennifer, thanks for the feedback and for the interest info, wow. You’ll have do the visit when you get the chance as it’s a lovely area. Take care.
Brill !! Booked to go end Feb...... Can't wait.
All the yesses from me. Superb dronework. I was glad to recognise all the paths, the gate and the crags 👍
Thanks for feedback, very much appreciated. Take care
Nice video! Just found your channel a subbed! Love walking around there especially in the snow!
Thanks for the feedback and yep, the snow makes it the place even better. Take care
My car once broke down just north of Cheviot. Had to spend two days there waiting for a part to come up from Christchurch.
I never get tired of the Cheviots. Wish I lived closer, I'm in Norfolk. As you say it's good for the soul up there. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it
Tell me about the emergrncy exit. Is it a parachute....bouncy ball....zipline??? I need something for my 3 story.
Not certain but I think it was a cable rope ladder. Thanks for watching.
@@maverickd0g You have to get footage inside of the mini-turret. Any kid seeing that would make their parents buy it. Same concept as putting the cartoon cereals on the lower half of the aisle.
Nice 1 👍
I'm really enjoying the content and format of the vid. 👌😁
Excellent video! its a place ive never been so will certainly get it on the list given those views..cheers for sharing Steven
Thanks Steven, its worth a walk if your in the area. Feedback is appreciated
Great stuff. Must now watch your other vids 👍
Thanks for the feedback, take care.

Hahaha, nice one lol. It's just me and the durg now 😂 Nicely video'd you two, looks like an ace place to explore.....happy halloween :)
Really enjoyable video. I have walked up there a few times but hoping to camp there shortly
Thanks Graeme, it’s a bit of a hill to drag a tent up but it’s well worth it. Have a great camp when you get there.
awsome vid really enjoyed that's thanks for share with us all atb byan
Hi, Did you notice any potential wild camping spots whilst on your walk?
Hi, David, No unless your happy camping on heather. From what we remember most of the walk was uneven and heather covered, we wouldn’t camp there. Thanks of getting in touch and enjoy your walks and camps.
Thoroughly enjoyed this video. You definitely showcase our area beautifully 😍
Thanks Emz, we got some good scenery to capture and it changes throughout the year. Cheers for positive feedback, take care.
Delightful content…fantastic views and music. Such a shame the amount of storm damage across most of Northumberland. Really enjoy what’s you guys do…thanks for sharing ATB Steven
Hi Steven, it’s just great to record the memories although seeing the damage to our countryside is tragic. Pleased your enjoyed and thanks for the positive feedback. Take care.
what tank bag is that and how does it stay on the bike .. I got the rear bag but I'd rather see my dog when riding
It’s a tank covers from Bagster that has the bag fixing to then fix the “Bagster Puppy” bag as needed. She just loves being upfront protected from the wind and I can also keep and eye on her.
Great video, keep it up 👍
Thank you, very much appreciated.
Lovely video guys, some brilliant drone shots. Inversions, a fog bow and did I spy a broken spectre on one of the drone shots too?👌🏻 Great stuff, thanks😁 Mark
Thanks Mark, it’s wasn’t as goods a your latest Scottish trip but still enjoyable.
Wow that's great man village life is always better than city's rush and selfish life, God bless you 😇.
