Rocker Replacement On C10! (Rust Removal)
I love those roadster bodies. Keep thinking about dropping one onto a 1 ton chassis and then doing something crazy with the engine. Can’t do the DT360 because I plan on putting one in my suburban. Maybe a CAT engine?
👍 great
That engine wont last long with straight water in it. Diesel engines NEED antifreeze coolant in them. Not water.
What frame is under the rig ? Thanks brother
It’s still the stock loadstar frame.
To get a smoother ride you should have went with the freightliner suspension. The Airliner air ride. And if its the same width, they make a 3 or 5 in drop front spindle for the car haulers. Put that on your front with one or two springs and air bags. A lot more smoother ride.
The ultimate goal is to do bags all around. The ride is definitely stiff now.
Hey buddy ,im in the process of doing my front axel , did you use the original loadstar axel , or you swap with anoher one ,any help will be greatly appreciated
We used an axle from an 04 f650
I see guys push their 7.3’s to 4-500 horsepower through a Zf5- and at that point the weak link is definitely the aluminum case. I bet that Eaton would surprise everybody what it would hold up to
I hope to someday push enough power to test the limits of the Eaton transmission.
@ that would be sweet. Keep everybody posted on the progress! One of my favorite channels for sure!
Sorry I'm 3 years behind but that lodestar is fucking mint 👌
Thanks man!!
💯
Have a lot of questions i would like to chat about, could we email?
Did you reinstall the ball joints that were in the chassis when you received it? I had to heat my arms a little to get the ball joints out i could powder coat the arms, I'm going back in with new ones. Hopefully my small press can handle it!
Yeah. I just used a cheap harbor freight press and they went in fine.
they collect water dirt then rust if you install as the factory did, especially all the water runs down the doors and side. they need to be completely sealed and that factory thin gasket does not work. interesting video
I’ve watched all of your loadstar videos. This is so good work you guys are doing. I have a question for you. Did you have to drill more holes in the front f650 axle to get it to work? I have the a loadstar 1700 with the f650 axles, and my front u-bolt hoes are not lining up to the leaf springs. Keep up the good work.
Any new videos on the Firebird
ruclips.net/video/J91rcNWIwOA/видео.htmlsi=KxTRbI5gpJGLCnx5
what kind of reg are you using on the truck? lowered gvwr and no cdl driver license?
It’s just an old ranch truck as far as the government knows. Truck was bought and been on the ranch since 65. So it was already registered before the modifications.
Hell yeah man!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉
Anyway to get in text contact with one of you guys? Just picked up a loadstar 1600 and plan on doing a dt360 aswell, have some extra queations since you guys are one of thebonly ones inhave found to no take the easy way and just do a newer frame swap.
You can always message me on Instagram.
Any chance you still have the differential from the 2020 load star project?
Yes we do.
Very nice! What radiator are you using in your setup??
It’s a griffin universal.
@gingerauto nice. Griifin is s good brand. Do you have a part number for it?
What reason you had it powder coated yourself and not from the roadster shop?
We thought that they were going to powder coat it. And when we realized they weren’t it was already packaged ready to ship. So pretty much lack of communication.
Great video man , question do you knkw if a gen 6 tr6060 will bolt up to a 5.3 from an 07 classic silverado , and how did you go about wiring it ? Thanks man
I would think they would bolt up the same. But not 100% positive. It all depends on the bellhousing style.
Do you still have the power steering from the 1800?
Yes
Did you run transmission cooler lines of you plugged them off ?
I haven’t got that far yet.
Cheaper and better than buying a Radium dual hanger 👍🏼
Just picked up a 1962 International B160. Would like to put those kind of wheels on it. What is required? Awesome Video.
We did axles from an 04 f650
@@gingerauto Awesome! Did you do a video on that?
@@gingerauto Found the video, thanks.
Looking at building an IAG engine myself. Did you guys go stock compression ratio for this or lowered?
We did lower compression. Just because he found a really good deal on somebody who bought a block and never used it. The tuner said that they recommend stock compression for our power goals tho. So I would talk to the person you plan to tune it and see what they recommend.
@@gingerauto I appreciate you getting back to me. What were your power goals if you don't mind me asking. I am currently in a similar position as your customer. My engine started knocking on my way home and had to drive it home. Haven't taken the engine out yet but looking at getting an IAG shortblock and reusing my heads if possible. Where I differ is that my current car is NA and I do not have the funds to get forced induction right now. BRZ was my daily so trying to get an engine in her is priority. Thinking of building stock compression and if I do go turbo, I would keep it low boost. Not looking for crazy HP. Just a more fun daily. Thoughts? Still looking for a tuner in my area. Not for a lack of options but so many lol
@@Brosignious if you are staying n/A or doing low boost I would for sure keep the stock compression. If you go lower you are going to lose a lot of torque feeling. We are trying for 400whp.
We are running into a problem with our EG. Crank Angle sensot is ok but it looks like we may have an wiring issue. Do you mind if I ask how many wires and the colour of those wires go to the Crank Agnel Sensor. I’m going to make a new second of the harness from Sensor to the ECU., Looking for wiring and connector types. Thanks !!!
What ecu you running?

@@grinstarr ok so are you using the factory harness? Or make your own?

@@gingerauto I having a tought time with finding out if there are two Crank Angle sensor or one. The two as shown in your video are both CAS’s? Cheers!
The past like 5 car projects that I've watched on YT have had simple overlooked starter issues😂
It happens haha. Had a bad starter. But also later found I had my injectors and coils wired wrong. So it was struggling to begin with.
Hello my friend
What kindof wheels and tires do you haveon the impreza i love the setup and was wondering wha the specs are if you get a cance hit me back id really appreciate it
They are 17x9.75 with a +25 offset wheels. With a 255/40 tire.
Man, I would straight up buy one of these from you for my 97 Outback EG project. I've been working on putting a 2015 Audi RS7 4.0TT throttle onto my EG to add DBW functionality through the Haltech, and its been a pain trying to build something to make that particular throttle work. The throttle bores are almost perfectly aligned, but the bolt holes are about a quarter inch off all around minus the center 2. Trying to come up with a design that can mount to the engine, then the throttle mounts to it has been an absolute thorn in my side.
Have you thought about cutting and welding on a new throttle body mount onto the manifold?
@gingerauto i have, but I would much rather have a bolt on solution, which is proving difficult because the the audi throttle and eg throttle have very similar mounting holes but not identical
@@Rexcation if you want to send me pictures of the throttle body on Instagram I would see if I could think of a solution.
awesome content!
What frame mounts did you use? I know dirty dingo on block. Just curious about frame side. Thanks!
Awesome truck!
Thanks
I know this videos not related but i was planning on doing my own first gen impreza eg33 swap but im not confident i have a the knowledge for it since no one breaks it down enough was wonder what advice you got
I am always willing to help people that ask for it. What is your end goal with it?
@gingerauto 600 to 800 hp range budgets like under 10k, preferably 7ish. The ideas a twin turbo set up for boost on a standalone and the sti tranmission for reliability there's more to it than that but that's the gist
@gingerauto But the current goal is just to get the motor in the car using a stand alone
@gingerauto I've got the engine now but not the car yet what do you think I should do for now I've already done spark, oil, cleaned the intake, and a compression test.
@@lowgradetriplea1620 how were your compression numbers? I would think that you should be good to go if you aren’t going to worry about timing belt and headgasket.
What year is the C10?
71
New subscriber bro🔥🔥🔥
What’s the height of this tire and wheel setup?
If I remember right it sits pretty dang close to 33”
I know the directions probably say mount from the bottom why wouldn’t you put it inside the frame?
Not sure. And it’s been awhile since I installed it. But I wanna say because it makes it easier to remove the tank with out having to remove the bed.
sound good
It's looking great! I'm about to install my TR6060 on my C10, have you tried installing the drive shaft? Do you think we can use the original?
I haven’t got that far yet. But I have heard that you can if you get an adaptor of some kind.
HOW MUCH DOES IT WEIGH
Just noticed you have the wrong cap on your mishimoto radiator.
Good eye. What one do we need?
45137FE007 is the radiator cap.
And who did the tune for this? No one I know is willing to touch TGV deletes.

Can 2 guys pick up that cab?
If I remember right we did pick it up with 2-3 guys. Wasn’t very easy. But was possible.
I have a 68 with 304...no bed. Trying to get a ball park guess on curb weight as I'm tackling the brakes and have no ability to run her over the scales. Any guesses? Hoping to have something like yours before the good Lord tells me "You're done son!" 😅
My guess without the bed is between 6-8k.
The engine side mounts that slide are fine, but prefer to use the 73 or newer clam shell mounts. As a full length of metal wraps around them thus called "Safety Motor Mounts". The old style flat ones are not captured and can break. I am not running power adders like turbo's or superchargers. I have my share of turbo failures in the 70's & 80's. Spinning with engine off and no oil, pop-off valves sticking cause a run-away condition. This was factory. Also, clam shell mounts have metal bars to rest onto the bracket for extra support and vulcanized into the rubber. The problem is no metal on the brackets to rest on. Thru bolt is only support, with a OE type bracket they rest at bottom front and rear. I don't like the prices but salvage yards have doubled their price sheet. Still $100+ cheaper than Speedway or Dirty Dingo. Nice build! ASE Master since 78.
I just finished mine….a foam roller on the big flat areas of the frame eliminates brush strokes, also slightly thinning the paint for the last coat works beautifully too. Nice job on yours!
I wish I would have just sprayed mine on. Would have been a lot easier to make it look good. Oh well. At least you can’t see the frame haha
The first truck I ever drove was one of these. It had the gas v8 with twin transmissions. Also a tandem axle with a 22’ potatoe box on it. Fully loaded it could only do 30 miles an hour lol. Beautiful rig. What brand of gauges did you guys use in this build? Can anyone tell me please?
