This would have been my winner at Eurovision. It came 4th in the Norwegian final. I adore Gothminister, my favourite band. This song is more pop than their usual stuff. You're right, Gothmininister is more into gothic & industrial metal. The singer is Bjørn Alexander Brem, the mastermind behind the band who writes all the music & lyrics, production, writing video plots, etc. He also plays instruments on some of the albums. (In his previous band, Judas Disco, he was the singer-drummer.) The band made the decision that they would not appear on stage but rather stick with singers & dancers because you're limited to 6 people on stage in Eurovision & there are 5 members of the band (singer, drummer, synth & 2 guitarists) plus the backing singer. This was their second attempt to represent Norway at Eurovision. The first was in 2013, with the title track of their album at the time, Utopia. Each of their albums has its own concept, based around a horror theme, such as Zombies, the devil, monsters, as Bjørn Alexander Brem is a huge horror fan. Their last 2 albums were themed around an evil king & an attempt to overthrow him, involving a cast of witches, werewolves & skeletons, as well as the evil king who seemed to also be a sorcerer. We Come Alive was from the latest album, Pandemonium II: The Battle of the Underworlds, & its video involved the cast of previous videos from the Pandemonium albums who had been horror characters & the main enemies of the king, a witch & werewolf, but We Come Alive is set in modern-day Norway. It seemed to me they were reincarnations of the original enemies as the king appears in more modern clothing to attack them. The video for the title track of Pandemonium I won tons of awards. I highly recommend you watch it. ruclips.net/video/DbIQ-X2sPyk/видео.html Their live shows are incredible, with a full casts of monsters onstage & include fights with werewolves & monsters, etc. They've even had an animatronic monster about 10' high holding the drummer high in the air by his legs before dropping him down into the pit. They also have extensive, realistic makeup & special effects for all their monsters. When you see him carrying a decapuitated head onstage, you do a doubletake because it looks so real! lol It helps that Bjørn Alexander Brem also works as an entertainment lawyer in Norway & is head of the association of Norwegian entertainment lawyers, so he has lots of contacts in the world of special effects. Their shows & vidoes are full of camp horror, but the music is sublime.
