That's a big fella! 😅
This really might be the best gear video ever made
Awesome. Thank you. I knew none of that as I am a newbie to more a professional home studio set up. Just fabulous.
Please review your butterfly.
thanks for the name of the coffin nail i was looking for that
It’s a baby pin doesnt seem like I can bring back the coffin nail nickname like I hoped haha. Ah well can’t control what catches on
All your equipment is very, very good, but very expensive, not everyone can afford it.
❤❤❤
Finally a p@rn channel for grip geeks “Only Stands” loving it!!
Great to have a catalogue like this on my phone.
Great tutorial
Thank you
go Padres!
What a great video!
Thank you!
Very Nice!
this filled in all the little gaps i needed to know.
We all have gaps glad it was helpful
Wow😍🔥... That's a beast right there
That's cool .. I'd love to test out and review one of your C STANDS on my channel❤️
I learn a lot for this ! Thanks mate 🦾
You’re so welcome glad it helped
very well explained. good stuff!
🙏🫀🙏 glad it was helpful
Thank you so much for this amazing video. Clear, informative and also entertaining as you always are. Big fan
Appreciate you thank you
Very helpful, thank you! 🙂
You’re so welcome
How do you take the lock off knob completely off? I’m trying to clean it because its not rotating easily, but it seems the all of the knobs only come out to a certain length and then stop

Great video, what boom arm adapters do you need for different items? I may want a mic on the end, or a camera, or a light. I know a C stand might be over kill for a small mic, but I already have other stands and tripods, but I might as well get a more versatile boom stand that can support more weight giving me more options.
There’s so many options really what you need to figure out is what you’re putting on that arm. What mount style it has and of course how heavy it is will also dictate the type of arm and stand
Such a helpful video. Love this guy too!
Thanks so much 🫀
Awesome video - explained as it should with simplicity.
Perfect explanation.
Never perfect perfect but I glad it was helpful
One of THE best instructional videos on YT! 🙏🏻 But I do wish it was demonstrated with a strobe attached rather than a reflector.
It’s pretty much the same just imagine a light on that baby pin I show you but it you really need to see it in action I have endless videos with lights mounted and even live stream demos building set ups from scratch if you feel you need to see a light put onto a stand
just got my first c stand, really good info in this video, thanks!
You’re very welcome
Outstanding explanation! Thank you soo much 👍🏼
Thank you!
😂 I thought this was a joke. You look so tiny beside that stand. Wow, great engineering by Avenger
Does the C-Stand come with an E560 as standard or is it an additional accessory to buy?
Is usually additional with any reputable stands but you will find some budget stands that include it ..however if you’re going to invest in grip like I say in this video it could cost you more later going that route
I came into the game and now I know getting my first in a day thank you.
I'm starting assisting and this video helps a lot. I would like to watch a video about the different stands and grips. Thank you so much!
sieg meow
If you are going to watch one video about C Stands. This is it! Seth Miranda was super clear, pleasant and knowledgeable. Well Done! Thank you! He needs his own channel
Thank you! And uhhh here this is my own channel that’s been around for years ;) 🙏🫀
Thanks! Can the upper most leg move up and down the shaft for say when you have uneven ground and need to raise it a little?
11:15 - "Why are you gonna permanently damage a C-stand for no reason?" It's not for no reason, it's to enhance the functionality. It's not damaging it, it's improving it. "Why are you gonna even play a game trying to figure out where to put that notch so it even fits correctly wherever the pin is?" I'm not going to guess. Just measure an existing standard baby pin. Bonus points if you can bribe a machinist with their favorite beer to turn it to spec on a lathe, but you can grind a perfectly safe shoulder with an angle grinder. The reduced diameter portion for the retaining screw to fit in doesn't need to be perfectly round or concentric, it just needs a sufficiently big enough step down from the major diameter of the rod an appropriate distance from the end of the rod. Give me a baby pin, a smooth 5/8" rod, a pair of calipers, and a hand file and I bet I can turn the 5/8" rod into a copy of the baby pin with +/- 0.015" tolerances or better. Throw in a TIG welder and I can slap on the "nail head." Or do it the right way and do it on a lathe with bar stock at least as large as the maximum diameter of the part (i.e. "nail" head in the example here). This kind of elitism and gate keeping is why so few people go into the photo and film industry. Go check out an Indie movie set, the amount of improvised gear can be eye opening. If you're working for a big budget production or photo shoot, by all means, just pay for the gear you need to save your own valuable time. If you're like many folks starting out, you often find yourself with a deficit of cash but a surplus of time, or at least some "available credit" on the time budget before chronic sleep deprivation really catches up. If you're in the latter case, DIY and improvised gear can be an amazing utility that opens new doors to creative possibilities without burying yourself in debt or getting bent over by the rental house.
Excellent excellent excellent thank you !!
🙏🫀🙏 thank you
Great video! Thanks for Share!
Dude, Seth, I really didn't want to watch a half hour video on C-stands but I watched the entire thing. SO HELPFUL! This was amazing and I can't believe how many uses a C-Stand has. You taught me invaluable skills. I definitely wasn't using it properly, but I will now! Thanks so much.
Well appreciate you taking the time to watch and the leap of faith to click. Glad it was worthwhile
I wish someone had told me this decades ago. I had to learn all of this by trial & error. Mostly error. Because mistakes make for excellent learning opportunities. LOL When someone does something wrong, and they get away with it…no correction is apparently necessary. OTOH…when something fails and/or falls, the mistake is learned. Hopefully. Fortunately I figured all this out years ago without injuring anyone…but tips like this would have been massively appreciated. Keep up the great work.
Thanks for checking it out glad it was helpful
Handing off a C stand is one of those self critiquing instructional actions. Ask me how I know. LOL It’s one of those things that “should” be obvious, but unless you’ve mashed your fingers…may not be. Great tip to share.
Well explained and useful. This is a must-watch before one buys a c-stand and uses it/them on set. Thank you!
Really appreciate the high regards thank you
So it's basically a light stand for commercial video use. You should script your video before beginning. I'm 12 minutes in and had to figure that out for myself. My question is: could this stand be used to hold a video camera, battery pack, radar, and cooling solutions, etc. to capture video of a baseball game?
Great video!
Thanks buddy. !
@@LastXwitness Thank YOU, Seth. My first C-Stand arrived 2 days ago and your no-nonsense presentation made first-time set up easy-peasy. There are SO many ways one can go wrong setting one of these up for the first time.
I have never watched a video that was so useful and informative every single second it played. Fantastic job, thank you❤
Oh wow thank you! Really glad it was worthwhile 🙏
Thanks for the tips!! I’ve been using regular stands but want to upgrade to c stands. This helped a lot.
Awesome. They def will open up some set ups and possibilities for you.
@@LastXwitness I picked up a set of full 40” Kupo stands. They will replace my cheap backdrop stand kit. Give me lots of comfort when I use my 108” paper roll back drops.
Checked it out at the Last ECE Trade show and i love the design! Im looking forward to working with it.
