Chicago - Take me back to Chicago (Live at the Venetian March 14, 2020)
From Chicago’s last concert before the covid-19 lockdown began, Robert takes the stage and plays a nice stripped down version of “Take me back to Chicago” on piano. Thank you Karen for providing this video.
I do not own this video or anything in this video, I am simply a fan wanting to preserve some history of one of my favorite bands.

Love watching the older concert recordings that you uploaded! I actually have a recording of robert playing this the previous day (as of this recording) too, he stated that he didn’t write it. Just a slip of the tongue I suppose.

It would have been nice to recognize Danny Seraphine, who wrote the lyrics.

Danny and Hawk Wolinski wrote it. Danny wrote some pretty great songs for Chicago in the late 1970s. He also wrote Little One, for a long time I thought Terry Kath wrote it since he sang it. And Danny also cowrote No Tell Lover with Lee and Peter and Street Player. And in 1980 he wrote Birthday Boy, all great tunes.

Was it so hard for Robert to acknowledge Danny? Robert's kinda weird that way.

@@lamarravery4094 Peter made sure he got 1/3 for melody (after Lee ripped him off on "Call On Me")

For all who have gone to Danny's show, you know that Danny is the opposite of Lamm and is very gracious. He plays some Lamm tunes (25/6, Beginnings, etc.), always gives credit and, in fact, tells everyone that Lamm is one of the best songwriters of our day. Note to humanity: Be like Danny.
