Double screw leg vice on a Moravian workbench

First test of the double screw vice. I still need to leather the jaws and it's a little rough round the edges but it grips like crazy.

Chairmakers' hitch

This is a simplified version of the Truckers' Dolly or Truckers' Hitch. I use it to secure chairs to the workbench and so call it the Chairmakers' Hitch. No-one else does.

Chamfering With A Chisel

13 brackets, 2 ends each, 5 edges on each end. 130 chamfers. Swapping between block plane for the straights and chisel for the curves was no more efficient than doing every edge with a chisel.

Thank you Sir.🎉
Is that a travisher at 11:39? If not, please let me know what tool that is. Its beautiful. Secondly, could you please tell me the makers name/ model of the drill guide you used at the 8:05 mark? Tx
Marvellous work. Just found your videos - I'm bunging now ;)
Amazing work, sir, congratulations.
👏👏👏
Good content but the sound was atrocious, the closed captioning even had trouble picking it out.
Watching you work is an almost Zen like experience. Fascinating, instructional and uplifting. Simply lovely.
Hi there. This might be a long shot given this video is over a year old, but could you tell me where you get the forstner type bits for the hand brace? Thanks in advance and congratulations on such beautiful quality work. Cheers.
Tony, most of my forstner bits are Famag. I’ve got a couple of Fisch wave bits but I hardly use them. I really like the Famag bits.
Beautiful
Really good work my friend. Lovely to see someone using simple tools to make something so nice. I’m subscribing to see more 👍🏻
Where do you get all this lumber from. And what type is it?
Cool doweling machine, where did you find that....
I love your videos. I use hand tools too, in part because they are quiet.
Well done. Making a bench like this to demonstrate the work that would have been done on a bench like this seems like a novel idea these days. Perhaps, along with bowl carving (it seems a bit light for that sort of work) and sawing, you will be able to do medieval woodworking demonstrations, even reenactments at festivals.
I would love to know the sizes of it so I can make one too
Well done, Thank You!
why do you need that butterfly keys? Are they for design only or some stucturural strengthening?
Would also be interested to know. Thanks.
They are for strengthening splits in the wood. And they look cool too.
absolutely excellent
Well done!
Thanks!
Mesmerizing, thank you! Can you tell me about the forstner-like bit?
Thanks Jeff. They’re both Famag Forstner bits. Nothing special; not designed for a brace but work very well in it. They don’t cut as quickly as an auger bit but leave a flat bottom to the hole so I prefer them.
Nice to see you again!
Thanks!
We’ve missed you.
👍👍👍
I like the knife.
Thanks. I had it made for cutting rope. It's very thick on the back and is a bit softer than the cutting edge so that it doesn't shatter when hit with a hammer.
And... Snap!
Not so far. There's one on a Shaker bench (in Hancock Shaker village?) that did many years of service without breaking.
Where does he get those bit and brace attachments?
Which ones?
A true craftsman such skilled work ,tools in excellent condition sharp as hell ,lovely job in all thanks for showing ,the rocking bench would do my head in tho lol ,Greetings from Wales.
Thanks. Very kind of you.
Oh! It’s a Roman workbench.
Good tip. Thank you.
You're welcome!
Где можно преобрести такой затачной станок ?
Beautiful. Excellent work. I like your taste in tools too!
Thank you very much!
Where can you buy the matching hole reamer and leg cylindrical tenon maker/scraper.
They're both from Veritas - Lee Valley.
this channel bout to go crazy i just know it.
you could always build a larger version for larger stock
Wth is that for?
Holding the chair solidly on the bench while I weave the seat.
So how do you build a pole lathe, pal? This must be the most useless video on youtube.
Your surfaces look gorgeous! Beautifully done.
Thank you so much!
Why don't you use metric its what we were taught at school, is it so Americans understand.
I'm bilingual!
I really like this over the peg system seen on most, nicely done sir. Subbed your channel as well. Have a blessed week Dale
Thanks!
Nice work, so much of the woodwork I see on you-tube is done with thousands of dollars of power tools. Its good to see something being done with tools I can afford. Thanks for the video
I'd love to see a video of a demonstration of this workbench! I still can't figure out how the dogholes work without an endvise!
I use them with holdfasts.
Well done. It looks nice. I know you are proud of it
good work bro,, wondering about the machine.from where can I buy that
Sehr beeindruckend! Tolle Arbeit!
What is the name of the measure / scribe tool that you use?. they come in varied sizes i presume
What model/maker low angle plane?
Love it. Almost done building a top for a roubo bench. I'm now tempted to make the base moravian instead.
Very good and enjoyable video. Thanks.
Beautiful videography! I learn from just watching. Paul Sellers have been my favorite on YT so far but this is very good!
Nice workbench!
Love it simple and neat
