Fishing for pleasure
Великобритания
Добавлен 26 июн 2012
This is going to be my weekly fishing journal warts and all! I may not always catch so you'll get both the highs and lows the catches and the blanks (Hopefully not too many).
Been fishing for 50 years and still get excited everytime I go! Still fish for almost every species swimming.
I'm happy Roach fishing in summer, Tench fishing in June, Carp fishing in spring and autumn , Catfish in the warmer months but my real love is Pike in the winter.

Swim choice success : Pike fishing UK
More often than not the key to locating big Pike on big rivers is location!
Wind direction, time of day, time of year overhead conditions are just some of the factors to consider before opting for a venue and then a swim.

This week's episode! With much of the country's rivers either flooded or carrying too much rainwater I took the opportunity to get down to my local! Luckily my part of Lincolnshire hadn't seen much rain and was in tip top condition, but it would not last long! Time to get out on the bank before the floods arrived. Well done on your first 20 of the season! Your doing so well this early on in the season. Hopefully, it continues being this productive.
Cheers pal, had a good week off last week🎣👍
Well done sir , great to get a twenty
Cheers Alan 👍🎣
Good effort! A hat trick on a foul day. Well deserved 👏. Can’t wait to get back to the UK from France to hopefully get into some Esox too.

Realy well done our mate great fish you deserved this you worked very hard my husband thinks this could be a great season for you good luck take care
Fingers crossed! I have had a good start. You both take care, always good to here from you
Great session using your watercraft there mate. Appreciate you sharing your years of knowledge and experience with everyone. Making the correct assumtions and decisions made the difference for you and everyone should be able to take something from your vids and improve thier own chances of one getting of those rare big girls.
Thank you, It doesn't always pan out but nothing ventured nothing gained. Tight lines
Hi mark. Good decision to try lower down pal. Well deserved 20 and a stunner. Well done.
Cheers pal, Tight lines 🎣👍
Cracking fish Mark, well deserved. I was out yesterday in torrential rain. Sunny this morning, so out again & drying the gear off. Waiting for the float to slide away. 🤞🤞
Nice one, I'm on the dreaded night shift all week. Hope that float sails away Pete👍🎣
Fantastic Mark what a lovely pike . Great water craft by you . Lovely big girl and she will get bigger come March. massive head she was in good Nik . They are out there just got to find them . Great video again.🎣🎣🎣
Cheers Graham 🎣👍
Congratulations on your seasons first 20+ 👌
Cheers mate 👍🎣
Great video as always Mark. Congratulations on the first 20 of the season 👏👏👏 I went Perch fishing on Sunday just gone. A 20lb river Carp snaffled my worm. What a battle that was. I think I’ll not bother with the Perch and just get my Pike rods out. I bought some single hooks recently, not circles, so going to give them a try 👍
Wow what a fish 👍🎣
Very well done Mark! Chuffed for you!
Thank you kindly
Well deserved cracking fish 🎣👏
Thanks 👍
Well done sir
Thank you
Well done Mark great fish well deserved plenty more to come
Thanks 👍look out for Friday's video
Cracking video, nice session, are these club tickets or day tickets, what sort of hook holds do you get with circle hooks, tight lines, good health and safe travels my friend, cheers craig
BDAA link in the video Circle hooks take some getting used too but they are rock solid in the scissor when the do take hold
Magnificent creature and great footage (and pep talk)! Thank you.
Many thanks!

Congratulations mark! Excellent angling and an exceptional fish! You definitely deserve that and I’m made up for you! Great words of advice there at the end of the video which I’m going to take on board, I’m on a run of 3 blanks on my local river but I’ll be there again this weekend plugging away! The kindest of regards, Dave.
Best of luck at the weekend Dave 👍🎣

Nice one, got to love a drain caught double
Fantastic fishing Mark. All the effort you put into clearing swims and taking others rubbish home. That 20 could not of been caught by a more deserving pike angler KTF
Keep the faith pal 🎣👍
A superb fish, well done.
Many thanks
Spot on! Played perfectly, great battle!
cheers pal 👍🎣
Well done Mark, what a lovely pike mint condition!. I had my biggest pike of the season today 16lb.11oz and in mint condition as well. My sixth of this season so far. Tight lines Mark.
Well done James thanks for watching and tight lines
Congrats, me too!
The prey fish were in the area with signs of birds. Those river beasts always tail walk holding the flow.
Everyone loves a tail walk
Great video mate lovely 20 that 👍

@@Fishing4Pleasure Hope it lasts for you. You put a lot in!
Where are you piking mate
@@lukeodlin Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire drains and rivers only
@@Fishing4Pleasure have you been in the witham or bain recently in tattershall/coningsby
We always take bags , me and my boys had two black bags of foreign beer cans and laughing gas canisters , so disrespectful 🤬
So sad, but well done to your boys and you
Epic 😮
Thank you 🎣👍
Really good angling Mark. You put the time and effort into your fishing and you care for the fish Its ashame that people do not clean up after them self's 10 out of 10 for picking up that rubbish KTF
The wife wasn't too happy me bringing a full bag of someone else's crap 🤣
The rubbish problem also happens on my local Nene just west of Peterborough.....seems to originate from a certain part of Europe. The disposable BBQ's are pretty common in these parts....Hopefully the winter should alleviate the problem to some degree.... I lure fish for Perch and Pike (in the winter) and do a lot of roving miles.....it's a problem but mostly where it's a short walk to various swims.. I tell you what though, I'd be well happy with those Jacks you caught as the Nene has been a blank fest since the ridiculous flooding these past few weeks...
Used to really enjoy the Railworld section plenty of Zander back in the day
Interesting video, How do you know which drains are free stretches though? Surely chopping and changing locations means you have to be a member of whatever club has the fishing or know about day ticket waters??
I've been fishing the area for over 20 years and know them very well, just experience really
Great Job on looking after the place mark it's a pitty this happens there and here hopefully it will stop or someone gets on to it ,and as you say where is jacks theres a big mama all so ✌️🎣thanks for the vids👍
can't stand litter really gets up my nose
Hi Mark, i'm moving to lincs soon, are the drains any good for Roach, Tench, Bream? Not interested in Carp. Will be just outside Mablethorpe, any info would be useful, thanks.
They are fantastic! Locally Great Eau and Louth canal
@@Fishing4Pleasure Thank you Mark, I'll look them up. Hopefully in by Christmas.
Interesting how you hook your baits. I go in through the mouth and out through the eye socket. The idea being that we're pulling the baits back out, basically, and hook up when the circle hook turns a corner in the fish's mouth. All mine have been hooked in the scissors. The mouth/eye gives plenty of movement for the hook to swivel and find a spot. Sometimes go in through the mouth and out through the top of the head. Both work for soft baits like sardines. Not saying there's a right or wrong, there are too many variables to be didactic about hooking a pike, and if it works it works. Something I find with sardines, is the guts get torn out. This is a mystery as it's often on reservoirs with no known eel or crayfish populations. Best bet is it's small predators like little perch or maybe sticklebacks having a go at the soft flesh. Anyway, it looked like a good day's piking on the fens.
I find coming through the eye the bait is liable to fly off during the cast
The bdaa do an absolute terrible job of look after the drains. All they're worried about is the lake they have! Lots of poachers go unchallenged as the bailiffs are to scared to challenge them.
They only control the match rights for that drain, free fishing and not patrolled by anyone
@@Fishing4Pleasure they always seem to find me on the bank and get me to pay for a day ticket 🤣
good session mark some nice pike love the double take ,definitely with you on the rubbish problem no need for it at all , cheers bud stay safe
It puts you off some venues
Heart pounding stuff.but good fun.
get the old heart rate pumping 🤣
Double Take and you had prepared 2 nets!
Always fish with two nets
Nice video Mark. Really enjoyed it 🎣🐊
Thanks 👍
