I don't expect to see any guest characters until we've had all of the other rivals 1 characters Return, but I realized a reprised ori + a newcomer hollow knight could theme arou d each other as light and dark (whether for lore or just trailer theming), and that sounds super cool. I'm cool with whoever they want to add as long as I don't have to wait too long to get any one character out of Sylvanos, Mollo, Eliana, or Pomme (or Ori ideally, but yknow)

Another charakter from the workshop I'd be incredibly hyped to see would be iroh, i think he has a cool niche, is fun to play and is also just a sick design I think he, sylvanos and bhadra woulds be so cool to see

If they added Awatsu to Rivals 2 I'd buy 3 copies of the game istg - Awatsu is my main across all the workshop characters, and earnestly prefer them to most of the base rivals cast. I love them so much

I recently picked up rivals 2 trying to expand to more platform fighters as a veteran Brawlhalla player. Not sure how viable it would be considering its massive differences to more conventional platform fighters, but it would be awesome to have a crossover character from Brawl be considered for rivals, especially considering how both rivals 1 and brawl have implemented each others' characters as skins. You could also consider making them a stance-changer resembled by the character swapping weapons, staying true to brawlhalla's weapon system. A few ideas I had: Mordex: Trying to balance the pseudo-command grabs from scythe and gauntlets in a game with much different drift and frame data might be a nightmare for the dev team. But if they could pull it off, it would be an awesome character. Also, we don't have an ice-themed character until Etalus gets added. Asuri: She would make a very convincing stance changer, swapping between katars and sword, playing like a rushdown character with the former, and a spacer/swordie with the other. Down-B could swap which weapon was equipped. I imagine katars would be more used at low percent to build quick damage, and sword would be more used at higher percents to fish for kill confirms. The one challenge would be that she doesn't really have an associated element by default. Reno: It's possible he would step on Mollo's toes too much, being a bug that uses guns, but his orb kit flows super smoothly in brawlhalla and I can imagine orb would be one of the easier weapons to translate to rivals, and they could certainly make Reno a different character archetype than a zoner. Mako, Teros, and Munin are also all candidates but would probably overlap too much with orcane, lox, and fleet respectively.

As a Beowulf player in Skullgirls, it lowkey infuriates me that I have to wait so long for La Reina...

If we get another indie rep, I really hope they go with Milla from Freedom Planet. She’s not as well known, but still not totally obscure and basically already plays like a rivals character. She’d sort of be like Ranno, this grounded kung fu fighter with random ranged and burst movement options that you always have to be aware of. Also, there are just shockingly few canines in Rivals for it to be “the furry smash game”. Also, if we do get an UTDR rep, I feel like Kris/Ralsei would be so much cooler, I’d love to see how the team would adapt the signature ACT mechanic and pacificism mechanics of UTDR.

If i remember correctly. The devs said that if the game succeeds and they can support it for a long time, they plan on adding back every single character from rivals 1 (minus the guest characters). Which is gonna take forever ya, but i really hope it does end up happening

idea for creatures of aether incorparation make a items mode as a side thing similar to smash and make it so that that the cards summon creatures from cratures of aether akin to how pokeballs work.

I just learned today that in rivals 1 they added 2 characters at a time (I played like 10 minutes of rivals 1 before saying it was bad and quit, it wasn't bad I was just bad). I really hope they do that again with Rivals 2. At least until until the Rivals 1 roster is fully added. I am tired of just 1 character at a time. Every fighting game does that and its kinda lame. Add 2 mix it up make large changes. Make people adapt. Anyways I am excited for the le reina because I think she is based on a weaver ant which is a really cool any species.

Slade could have a Shovel Knight inspired mechanic with different moves. Amir would have to separate himself from Krag. Dirt (Earth) could be his element. He could make earthquakes and fling dirt with his attacks- Incidentally or purposefully. Artemis could be a weapons master, switching between exactly three different weapons. She could use the sword, spear, and axe- Straight up the weapon trilogy of Fire Emblem. A character named Artemis should probably be using a bow, so she could use a different set of weapons or use a bow in her move sets.

the Rivals of Aether devs are probably the only group that I would trust to do Sans justice in a platformer

I think Hodan will be one of the first rivals 1 characters to be added to rivals 2, along with Absa and Etalus. Out of the Workshop 4, I really hope we get Mollo soon. I feel like every game needs a character like that.

Why are people making videos like this? In case you didn’t get the memo: ALL of the oc rivals 1 cast is coming to rivals 2. That is confirmed. No need to make a video.

In my opinion the fist workshop 4 that will comeback first is Olympia. My fav earth character is Sylvan is, but I think by how her design is, and how popular she is (the most popular of the workshop 4, probably along with Hodan) would make her appear way sooner than any other character, and is my bet for the first post realize Rivals 2 character.

Having Sandbert be a sprite in Rivals 2 would be REALLY funny, but I also think him being designed after the hilarious plushie that got released would be funny too. Have you seen how tall that guy is? He's scary.

Rivals 1 had some guest buddies... so my impossible want is a Niko buddy

As a console player, I have never heard of these new characters.

My main was Absa, my secondary was Sylvano. Patiently waiting... Can't decide if I want to just play random for now, or try Orcane. Orcane always seemed super cool to me, but was a little daunting to play when I already had a definite main.

For the Creatures of Aether thing, it'd be kinda interesting (I'm just thinking randomly while watching the video) that maybe we can have like some hooded ambiguous character who has 4 different creatures, one for each element, kinda like Pokemon Trainer in Smash however they'd be the Rivals equivalent to them while also encompassing all 4 of the major elements of the universe. Though...that might be a lot of work maybe so i dunno. 😅

Devs have said the 4 per year will be divided into 2 returning characters, 1 expanded universe charcter, 1 new, Absa and Etalus will definitely the first returning characters. Slade is likely the EU rep. then a new character (possibly Envy, an Abyss rep) My guess is that Pomme and Mollo will be added together as a future-themed expansion since they're both from the future, and my hope is that the other two from that set will be for Earth and Water to even it out. HARD AGREE on guests being animals. If we're going with how they've detailed dlc characters will be divided, we'll have an assured 4 years of new characters coming (because 8 of the returning cast is pending). Maybe the 5th year will be four guests, in which case my choices are: - Ori (he just fits) - Mina the Hollower (new Yacht club rep) - The Knight/Vessel or Hornet - Afi & Galu from Rushdown Revolt
