A miracle of a band.i cant think of another bandvwith music that is as diverse and complex and catchy as these tunes! You're seeing the fruits of a tree planted over 11 yrs ago. That's a good song indeed, but you have no idea of their diversity yet. Dig deeper.

"Choose Me" -- a song featured in the Netflix original movie "KATE" and the HBO Max series Peacemaker as BAND MAID, has so many great RnR chops, it's kinda unbelievable. From Saiki's old-school phrasing, cadence and a super soulful vocal at the end; MISA's driving bass, her special riff after Kanami's brilliant, rocking main solo (complete with harmonic pinch), and her pulls at the end of the song that really funks it up with Akane's drumming; to Kanami's original composition, off-beat octave stretches during the verses, and her addition of a second uncomplicated yet super tasty solo; to Akane's unique snare & tom flurry that launches the choruses; and to Miku's octave-down, in & out vocal backup and lyrics... all makes "Choose Me" a throwback rocker that surprised me when I first heard it - and I'll bet most anyone - that they would come up with this western-style, rock 'n roll classic. Of course, after years later, it's not surprising at all coming from this important band of geniuses who are, along with The Warning band, almost single-handedly bringing back the joy of rock. Actually she doesn't write many lyrics compared to band founder Miku. She's also Rhythm Guitar and Backing Vocals. Miku writes most of the lyrics, had has since 'Alone'. Saiki has written relatively few songs, though she did write 'Hate?', so I can see why no one would want to piss her off.

It is compulsory enjoyment to react to the live acoustic version of this song at Yokohama. Just Saiki & the piano on stage. Then you will hear the pure majesty of the 'Queen of Maids'. It was the first time she played the piano live in front of an audience, and she has stated that she was extremely nervous.

The lead vocalist is a brand new lyricist for the band. She’s only starting to spread her wings in that sense. The main lyricist since 2016 has been Kobato Miku, the rhythm guitarist and band founder. I guess, starting in late 2021, one has to pay attention to who is the lyricist of a particular track. Choose me is a track lyrically written by Kobato-san.

Choose Me is the very first song I heard from Band Maid in the Netflix movie Kate. In got hooked since then. Now I own all of their albums and all of their available bluray concerts (of course you have to order it online).

I've been fortunate enough to have seen them a bunch of times, both in the US and in Japan. Mainly, due to like you said, they have brought back the excitement into rock music. And at an Okyu-ji (what the Maids call their live concerts, which translate into "serving", to keep in line with the Japanese Maid Cafe theme), the energy is through the roof. If you can, it would be so worth it, even if you have to do a road trip to do it. Welcome aboard the Band-Maid train, as you are now a Maidiac. PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘

Miku (red rose) was in a 3-member idol group before forming Band Maid, little did she know she was meant to be rockstar. Once she donned her guitar, the pigeon gained her wings.
