We are sailing on the breakaway January 29, 2025. We will be in the Haven for this 10 day cruise. Very much looking forward to it, have sailed in the Haven on breakaway four other times.

In the Manhattan room, are you seated with the same people every night?

We just got off the NCL Breakaway on 1/11/25 and here's our thoughts; they keep allowing kids in the adult pool and hot tubs, chair hogging is horrible, showers are too tight, room tvs are tiny, customer service in the dining rooms are slow and terrible! Overall, the staff was really good, ship has an excellent layout and we love the Atrium area! H2O Spice area is disappointing because your smell the smoke stack discharges 24/7...

I recently sailed on the Norwegian Escape for an 11-day Mediterranean cruise from Barcelona to Venice. There were no sea days, just full days in port, and we only had one tender experience. Our excursion through NCL went smoothly, and we didn’t encounter any issues with timing. Despite being on a full ship, the lack of sea days made the Escape feel surprisingly uncrowded. During the first part of the cruise, we were docked next to Oasis of the Seas, and in the latter half, we were next to the NCL Epic. Based on this experience, I’d definitely choose the Breakaway over the Pearl for a Mediterranean cruise or the Viva, mainly due to better pricing and the advantages of NCL’s larger ships. If I were to go with a smaller ship, I’d opt for Celebrity.

I was on the Breakaway in November I like it a lot. The Spaghetti and Cheeseburger was excellent. Cagney, Le Bistro and Ocean Blue was outstanding. The main dining room for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner was Excellent. I always loved the Local. I’m willing to pay $5 or $10 dollars extra for Shanghai. I’m not willing to pay $40 or $50 dollar extra. The service at all the restaurants was outstanding.

We sail on on the Breakaway on the 20th of January. Our first cruise was a Carnival, our second a MSC, it was kind of like the difference between McDonalds and The Ritz.

We’ll be fairly familiar with its layout as we were on her sister-ship, the Getaway, in 2023. A question I have is during your explanation of La Cucina, you mentioned that you only used one Specialty Dining for the meal. I didn’t know you could do that. The really large wine glasses are to capture the aroma of the wine when you swirl it.... There are different wine glasses per wine varietal to best capture the taste and aroma.

how was the weather im going on this ship jan 1st will be my first NCL usually travel carnival.

The 'American Diner' is a massive disappointment in my opinion. This used to be an add-on dining venue, where you paid for menu items, and honestly, the food was much better then. Now the food items are exactly the same as what you'd get a O'Sheehans or at the buffet. The only 'paid' option left are the shakes, if you're into that sort of thing. To me this venue is a complete missed opportunity. Make this into a paid venue, but theme it to something that rotates every 6 months to keep it exciting.

My friends and I were on this cruise. We got Peach Bellinis at one of the bars and one of the champagne glasses had lipstick on it too! I woke up during the night the ship had returned to NYC and saw all the lights and wondered what the heck was going on. We learned a day or two later why the ship had returned to NYC. All in all we enjoyed our cruise.
