FARMING THE FUTURE NAMIBIA

Farming the future is a farming magazine series that highlights on farming success stories. The series will feature various players from the farming sector with emphasis on farmers. We will travel to farms to talk about the challenges of the farming industry and how they are overcoming them( i.e stock theft, climate change and lack of water). We will take our viewers through the elements involved in running a successful framing project both in your back yard and at a commercial level, the aim is to make farming cool and pay tribute to the Heroes of the industry by providing a platform to tell their stories.
The series will not only aim on educating and acquainting Namibians with the local food producers, but also with the type of products that our harsh environment is capable of hosting. The series will focus and promote on unique agricultural strides such indoor farming, and unique desert project (sustainable farming at heart).

Farming for the community of Goreangab dam
From losing her job, and losing a house to fire, she rose from the ashes to create greater pastures in the ruins.
Not all losses are meant to define you, the grass is only greener where you water it. The shanty of Groangab Dam is rife with unemployment. After losing her job in 2015, and her house to fire in 2017. Mama Aguste responded with resilience in the form of a watering can. Starting her first garden in the backyard to feed her kids after the devastating fire, she is an inspiration to those who dare to look for opportunities where there seem to be none.
