What were your concern to going with the next size up at 265/65R18?
Still havent been able to get on the Indian train. They're ugly as fuck. The victory bikes looked SOOOO much better. But the fact that they fucked over so many riders is bullshit. Id snag a nice used victory but in a few years will I be able to find parts? I agree wholeheartedly with what you said. Keep making parts for Victory. Maybe then youll find some new Indian riders. Until then, I'll keep riding my Suzuki C109R and Yamaha Road Warrior 1700.
Awesome I researched for weeks for my 2019 limited and a bunch of people in the groups run them but running them on 20s and or lifted so I wanted to see stock I was gonna go 65 but nobody near me would install if not stock size so I’m going with the 60 series as well
I'm sure you will be happy with your decision! Thanks for watching!
I've bee with General Grabber ATX, for three sets and get over recommended mileage, can't complain
Rock on! Thanks for sharing!
What size is the spark plug socket?
Hello, here is the appropriate plug that you will want. You can also reference the specs of that plug on the NGK website if you want to match it with another plug. Hope this helps! amzn.to/3ZlmPSw
I love the mad stad, but wish I didn’t get one so dark because I’m under 6’ and constantly trying to look over it especially after sundown. 2016 XC Tour. ‘ Wish I had bought at least two of these bikes. Did not realize how good they were until they quit making them.
I'm glad you are liking your madstad. Yeah, it is crucial that you can look over it when you go with the dark tent. I agree with you. Do you have any other wind management on the bike or just the madstad? Thanks for watching!
@ None. The aero mod on this bike is excellent.
I owned a 2004 Touring Cruiser Classic which I purchased new. Prior to that I owned a Harley Davidson Wide Glide which I also bought new. My Vic served me well for 20 years but after Polaris discontinued the Victory brand none of the former Victory Dealers (now Indian Dealers) would do any repair or service work, including routine oil changes. I realized it was time to make a change since I wanted to continue doing long range touring. So, last year I went back to the dark side and bought a Harley Davidson Tri-Glide Ultra. I couldn't take a chance breaking down in the middle of nowhere without the support of a dealer network. Maybe Polaris made a good business decision to distance themselves from the Victory brand but they shot themselves in the foot by not embracing potential Indian buyers just because they didn't want to repair and/or service Victory Motorcycles.
Well said. Thanks for watching and safe riding!
Great video review. But you don't have to defend dual sports & sm's, We know how fun they are😊
Ha! Thanks!
Good job on that video . I hope that will solve my head buffing . I just ordered one. I have same exhaust on my bike I get decal pops always. Have you installed a tuner, where did you get fork Deflators . Need your info thx
Hey there, I don't have a tuner installed but I do have the stage 1 ECU flash on it. Did you have that done when the exhaust went on? Thanks for watching and report back on if you've made progress with your buffeting.
@ no I didn’t not . I try to find someone who can do in spring thx for you help
They are becoming collectable however, the volume is. Not over!😉😉
Thanks for watching!
I purchased a used 14 Cross Country in June of 2017. It had a Klock Werks 11 inch screen which seemed good for my 6 foot height. The buffeting was ridiculous. Having put fork wind deflectors on previous bikes I bought a set that Witchdoctors sells for $179.00 at that time. They look exactly like this man has except they were metal. Cleaned up my buffeting. To make it even more calm I put chaps on the engine guards, which I only take off on the really hot months of July and August. I do know a good many Victory riders that do like the Madstad System also, but fork wind deflector are a serious improvement.
Thank you for sharing what you've done!
IMO...this video is spot on! I purchased a 2006 Victory Hammer in Jan of '06 (coming from the sportbike world, because I couldn't seem to keep out of trouble with the law). I've been ecstatic with it ever since and honestly it really was for the 4 reasons they state in the video! I talked at least 4 friends into buying a Victory and they have been loyal and happy as well. I DO wish Polaris would step up and give the support "Chasing Redline" is suggesting. However, I think it's probably too late to come through. Anyhow, I will continue to ride my Hammer for how long, IDK, but this bike continues to get attention and keeps me smiling along the way.
I'm glad you love your Hammer and thanks for watching! Safe riding!
What height of Madstad did you buy and is it the darkest smoke color.
Hey, I have the 13" in the darkest tint. They call it "dark gray" to be specific.
As a die hard Polaris fan and a new Victory owner I cant agree more, perfectly said. I have already been eyeing up the Indian line and making a plan for my next bike when the time comes. And yes the reason I chose a Victory is because it wasn't a Harley.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and congrats on becoming a Victory owner!
V4 engine is sweet would be nice in the naked bikes
I’m still riding my 94 Magna. It has ruined me for anything else. I’ve owned it longer than any other bike I’ve ever owned. It is addictive. That V4 is awesome. It caused me to buy the Honda CTX1300A for long hauls. I made my Magna my own. It was Black when new, now sports a Corvette 50th Anniversary Ruby Red Tri-coat paint scheme with the original Magna logo buried in the clear coat on the tank as the original was. I upgraded grips like yours, windshield, sagglebags, Mustang saddle, stainless steel brake hose, Dave Dodge carb kit installed and changing LED glow lighting along with polished forks and wheels. I installed Mitchelin Commander II tires and really increased the handling performance as well.
Your bike sounds amazing! It really is a versatile bike and folks can make it into what they want and ride it how they want. Really enjoyed reading through what you've done with it. Safe riding!
Love my KINGPIN❤❤❤❤❤❤
Bored to 72mm and stroked to 51.5mm for an 850 classification. An 18 to 20 liter tank. A 36 or 38 tooth rear sprocket. Optional cruiser fairing with LED lights and stereo, comfortable pillion seat sissy bar and hard case bags for touring and slightly softer springs both front and rear and foot pegs moved forward about 6cm. Obviously fuel injected as well! The perfect medium power cruiser for anywhere in the world! You could also offer it in a stripped down Bobber style for city cruising!
Now Honda just needs to review your comment and their work is done for them! Safe riding!
I'm a Victory crossroads rider who wears Indian Tshirts and apparel. Here in Sweden, the Victory owners club is Victory and Indian owners club. If only Polaris would do this, you suggested. That would be awesome. Cheers
Thanks for watching and safe riding! Awesome that the club is combined in Sweden!
04668 Maye Crossing
The questionable shops that I have seen become Indian dealers, I wouldn't trust one inch. Polaris needs to stick with snow mobiles and off road products.
I'll say the quite part out loud: Comparing the 2025 Scout Bobber to the 2007 Victory Vegas, I'd keep the 2007 Victory any day of the week! The only thing that's better about the Indian Scout is the power plant. And if they put that power plant on the 2007 Vegas platform then you'd have a perfect bike, in my humble opinion! The biggest downfall to the Victory brand in general wasn't the brand itself, but aftermarket parts. The Victory name alone, at the time, wasn't enough to inspire aftermarket companies to design and produce high end products. The Indian name, on the other hand, instantly jumped that hurdle! But I'm not pissed that Victory is gone, and you shouldn't be either! Most Victory owners are riding are rare and incredible motorcycle, that won't be copied! ;)
Thanks for sharing your take! Aftermarket is a good point related to Victory. While there were some, there was just never the overwhelming support compared to some other brands. Safe riding!
The Honda magna is a great bike, very powerful, especially given it's size, it'd hurt a lot of people's feelings on the drag strip I'll tell you that right now
I have a 2017 as you may be able to see in my profile pic. I added a set of Memphis Shades wind deflectors and A 13" Long Ride Shields windscreen.. Never had a problem after that. It takes a few rides to 'dial them in'.
Thank you for sharing! Love the bike color and also glad you found a combination of deflector and shield that works for you. Safe riding!
I've changed my stock filter once and then added a Lloyd's. For the life of me I could not get the fuel pump connection unhooked. I was able to change the filter without unhooking the fuel pump wiring. I wish I knew the secret.
It is all about positioning your hands/fingers in there so you can get the tabs compressed simultaneously and pulling out straight. However, this can be a bit difficult to do or it could take a few tries to figure out how to maneuver. Good luck for next time you give it a try! Side note, did you also install a fuel controller with the lloyd's filter or are you using it without one?
Totally agree with your take(s) ... I'm 6'3 and when I sat on a Cross Country Tour in the showroom (in Australia) when they were new ... it felt comfortable without any modifications ... in fact most of their range I sat on and they all felt so comfortable ... I regretfully went for a Harley Road King and even though I changed out bars, seats etc and it still never felt quite right ... all these years later I'm now looking at a Victory again ... lesson learned ...
Thanks for watching and providing your take. It is amazing how much better the ride is when you feel like the bike fits you!
Yes! - Victory Kingpin, Vero Beach, FL
Need a mounting video. Came with tons of straps but no instructions. Mounting mine on a Harley Fatboy. Got it done but probably not to Vikings instructions.
I do agree that this is an area that Viking could improve. I hope you've had success getting this to work on your bike!
A better choice but like the Magnum 21" front wheel looks better.
The Magnum sure did take the XC and give it some flair. I don't blame you. :)
Im going to go look at my first bike (hopefully) tomorrow 1998 250 magna. I used to ride dirt bikes as a kid but had to get a car for work. Now im in a spot where storage isnt an issue and I cant wait to ride very responsibly and never excede the speed limit (thats a joke for anyone who bristles, im 30 years old and very attatched to my skin)
That is awesome. Did you end up getting it? Be safe out there!
@chasingredlineofficial I didn't unfortunately, it had a lot of rust a nasty hiccup between second and third so I'm checking out a 2003 V-Star in a couple days I'll find the right bike eventually and join all the real warriors on the road
@@TheDarkurthe Love it! Good luck in finding the right one!
@chasingredlineofficial I've had my v star for a couple months now and I'm unbelievably happy with it. Loves the roads here and has been a very forgiving bike for a relative novice
Harley went woke Guys are exploding Good time to bring victory back Indian doesn’t really do it for me Cool thing about victory they were never woke Everybody look at a victory cross country all they say is that bike is hard AF
Still turns heads. Hard AF is good way of putting it. Be safe out there.
Agree 100percent
I Have a Judge and a Challenger, never been Happier!
That is a wonderful combination. Hope you get many years out of both. Safe riding!
"1000 miles in a day" I call bull 💩
:) If you haven't discovered the Iron Butt Association yet, I'd recommend you check it out. Might inspire you to attempt some longer rides. Saddlesore 1000 is generally considered the entry level IBA ride. Safe riding!
I purchased a 2015 White coated Cross Country today, I'm excited for long distance traveling, thanks for video.
That is awesome! Safe riding!
I had one miss it definitely would buy another
Awesome! Safe riding!
A fuel injected V65 would be cool.
Agreed!
Trying to save money, I put 15mm spacer behind wind screen. Worked for my 6'1"
Great way to get a similar effect for less money!
Would be interesting to see a photo g How it looks. Because idea os quite genius
My dad had a magna, its what i learned to ride on. I'll always love these bikes. This era was peak honda
I agree. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I just bought my fist bike few months Ago 98 magna . Great fun . Still puttering around town yet getting use to it. But you are right ,on open road pop that throttle for a few seconds and you riding over 80 . Stay safe
Thanks for watching! Enjoy the Magna!
The V-92 cruiser is the ONLY Victory ive seen any legitimate complaints about, mainly because they were the first bikes and part of a learning curve for Polaris. My Vegas has 34k and runs like a monster unleashed even with 20 years on her.
I own and love my 2011 Victory Vision! Wouldn't trade it for nothing! Owned it for about 3 yrs now. And went completely mad scientist had it completely rebuilt from the ground up. Built engine, trans, sound system and more. This Harley Killa is ready with only around 5k on the miles. 😊
The other thing i forgot to mention is that this bike is great for young and old. As all of us are getting older and the large 800 lb cruisers become too much to handle, this particular bike at something just short of 500 lbs gives us all what we want in terms of power, reliability, comfort and easy handling.
That is a really good point. I think there is so much focus out there in media on the new rider. I think the experienced rider that is looking to downsize is an important group as well. Thanks for sharing!
i had a 82 Magna which i bought used and thoroughly enjoyed it. I didn't ride it for a year and gave it away thinking i was going to get a new bike which never happened. I sorely miss the bike and some are available used. But nobody does a valve job on those bikes anymore, and so i haven't ventured to buy one. It would be great if Honda would bring it back retaining the shaft drive and some modernization such as fuel injection and rear disc brakes and possibly ABS as everyone is going in that direction. I would buy it in a heartbeat. Maybe we can all get together and put up a joint statement to Honda to bring it back which may make Honda take notice? I am game.
Great video. Thanks!
Hope it was helpful and thanks for watching!
Absolutely awesome motorcycle powerful muscle bike but your motorcycle yellow color and silly flames 🔥 ruined the look . Horrible color. Awesome bike
Can't win them all! :) Thanks for watching!
You do make a great point and I back this idea. The large issue is one thing that Polaris can't get out of this.....$$$. The people that designed and built these fantastic bikes are not in charge of the purse strings at Polaris unfortunately.
Bring it back ...MAGNA 1000R all disc brakes .factory fly screen !!!
Excellently done
Thank you!
To me, the Madstad was instantly beautiful the moment I first rode with it. I bought my XCT about 9 years ago and I really disliked looking through the stock barn door windshield and it was also ridiculously hot. The Madstad solved both problems. I remove the hard lowers during summer months and I still find the buffeting tolerable up to about 80mph. It keeps me in check.
Thanks for sharing!
What size did you get? 11 inch?
I got the 13". Seems to work well for my 6' 2" frame but is also positioned low.
