Teddy Tucker
Добавлен 28 авг 2023
Teddy mused that: ‘a day not spent in the underwater world, a day not spent diving, would seem to me a day lost, wasted and empty’. This love of the ocean was married to a hunger for knowledge, a sharp mind and a photographic memory.
'Here is a man who, on his own, has become one of the world’s leading experts on everything from coins to ships, to nautical history, to underwater archaeology, to painting and glassware. Here is a man who had been dismissed for many years by serious scientists, and only now have they begun to realize that he knows 10 times more than most of them do.' Peter Benchley (1994).

West Indian Top Shells - Bermuda
The re-introduction to Bermuda of the West Indian Top Shell, a large marine snail, is credited as one of the island’s greatest conservation success stories.
In 1982, Teddy Tucker delivered 86 healthy snails from the Turks and Caicos islands to the Bermuda Aquarium for re-introduction on Nonsuch Island. The remaining 150 animals he released in inaccessible sections of rocky shore along Bermuda’s south and western coast.

Teddy Tucker, best known as a salvage diver and shipwreck hunter was first and foremost a fisherman. On a fishing trip in 1994 he was asked for his thoughts on changes he had witnessed over his time fishing off Bermuda. One of the starkest examples of change on the reef is the disappearance of the once ubiquitous sharks. Other fishermen and hunters share their observations of further change the...

In 1976 the movie 'The Deep' wrapped up production in Bermuda. It became the second highest grossing film in 1977, topped only by Star Wars. In the film Teddy is played by Robert Shaw (Romer Treece) a gruff ...

The analysis of the array of artefacts found at a site can help investigators narrow down a date of the wrecking and in some cases help to identify the ship.
Very good video, I like your video, Thanks you
Great video. Very sad state of affairs. One wonders though if it's just fishing that responsible for the denudation of fish? It seems strange that it's almost worse today some 30 years after the pot ban than it was 10 years after it. Is it a coincidence that fish numbers and seagrass around Bermuda have disappeared in tandem?
Great video. The solutions will require full and proper licensing and effective enforcement of the plans for strengthening local fish stocks.
Thanks for the informative video. Sorry state that needs attention, no doubt..
