Yes, they're possible to exist in D2, but no, I have not found them. It's fun to theory craft the items and then put them into a speedrun, but theorycrafting takes a LONG time ;)

Yep, it comes off, but you could have those +skill items on when you cast it, then swap out items (as long as it's not tempest) and put on -enemy light res or +lightning dmg% or +lightning mastery (Cranebeak has this in BTD)

It's not just summon necro. There are other builds I haven't explored yet. As far as the -MF goes.. this mod was meant to be hard. So the barrier to entry was being very knowledgeable about the game and how to overcome the -mf and resists. BT wanted players to use runewords to get thru the early part, then shop MF gear & gamble gull dagger to start farming gear that replaces the early runewords.

Completely disagree. The -mf made you re-evaluate how you play the game and the different combination of items to overcome the -mf. You learn to shop vendors, gamble, stack set pieces, target farm low lvl items, etc. The difficulty and problem solving is what made the mod great to me.

This is 3 years old.. In this run I'm using gear i or our group had found or traded for - no jsp. If you wanna go faster get enigma, cta, verdungos (or arach for tele fcr) and better charms.

Yeah, same. This is nearly 3 years old and it wasn't perfect gear, just stuff i had found a few days into ladder.

Well, for barb you can kill something then swap to gull daggers or ali babas for horking.. but at the start sorc is the easiest for sure.

there are in act 5 town, one of the houses has a door you can enter that is rift level 1. its by the exit gate to the right

Also, the rifts can be terrorized (players 20) or not (whatever the player count you set it at: 1-8)

It just makes you better at the game and teaches you the value in early game vebdor shopping/gambling. Its a great mod if you actually play it through.

It's -199MF. It's meant to make Set & Unique items interesting and fun - I've been doing a bunch of theory crafting. As well as what @erick3755 said, he brings up a good point.

@jymnasium, this sentiment isn’t just mine-many of my friends have stopped playing this mod for this reason. Removal of MF doesn’t add anything interesting or enjoyable to the game; instead, it makes it dull and tedious. The entire experience in both normal and nightmare modes feels wasted. You end up spending hours gambling for uniques, turning the gameplay into a grind where you're just selling items like necro heads or shields, hoarding gold, and targeting specific items. It’s boring and feels completely out of place. For me, the early and mid-game stages are the most enjoyable. You start exploring the world, appreciate every gear upgrade you find, and are genuinely thrilled when you come across a godly, unique item. In this mod, that excitement is completely lost. It seems to cater to players who don't truly understand the beauty of the game or its real meta. The core of Diablo 2 isn’t about endlessly farming the same character and locations. It’s about building one character to a satisfying level and then starting fresh to experience a new adventure, even with the same class. And what makes that new journey exciting? The random, rewarding drops that keep you engaged and thrilled. This mod strips all of that away. It’s just frustrating and pointless. So f stupid.

@@jymnasium around 900 damage...combined with leap it's quite fun! :) it might also be good with war cry, if you can get both tempest with +2 to barb skills

@@martyjakob8611 iirc it is a kind of mod on D2r. Blizzard is very hard with modding on d2r, so the mod on d2r is tiny when compare on mod on D2

@@nguyenhuyduc9151 Blizzard does not allow hard coding nor online play of mods, so that's the difference, but you can do a LOT of soft coding to make nice updates to the game.

@@jymnasium I was thinking a build concentrated only on lightning. Also the gear that gives you pally lightning aura. You know just for fun. Don't forget the traps and some other gear that I don't know of.

Appreciate the thoughts. I agree that we need a buff tracker and less clutter on screen. Hopefully that alone will fix the need for sunglasses or turning down the brightness. The combo points or charges are meant to be built up and all used up, so that's how these skills were balanced and with this suggestion it would slow the draining of those charges instead of permanently keeping them.. Before the NHD changes.. in solo speedruns we were using FoF on sin runs for a portion of the run (now we use blade sentinel) until Wake of Fire. So FoF MA sin was meta for speedrunning, and is still an enjoyable starting build until NM.

I agree with you... The only Nerf the Mosaic assassin needs is basicly just a nerf to the dmg numbers of the skills. Or a change in how they work as a whole. Constantly saying that mosaic assa is too strong is the same that people said about the hammerdin in patch 1.12 of old d2lod. Then they released patch 1.13 bringing in Magic immunes which then made the hammerdin horrible in most scenarios of baalruns not to mention the nerfs to ubertrist Xp farm. If blizz should do such a big nerf to a build that is fairly new considering hammerdin has been a thing for 22+ years. Then they need to offer up an alternative build for other chars making them more fun. Druid for example has 3 builds, that being Fire druid, ele druid, and bramble "thorn" Pet druid. Same goes for Necro 3 builds. Bone necro, Summoner necro, Psn necro. Paladin has a bunch of builds. Some requires heavy investment others not so much. a Buff bar would be insane tho, i would love that :D Blizzard shouldnt nerf anything, they should buff the rest. Besides Blizz, fire, lightning, nova sorc. They are perfectly fine as they are. So is hammerdin and Fist of heavens pala. But rest needs a buff. Psn nova kills so damned slow. And im saying that with a char ive invested over 200 Jahs into!

That is an option. It's a bit more complicated to do that fix. This is just a simple number change suggestion

Some good points, but not as powerful as it can be - missing BO & BC, cube and tp book can be removed for more skillers. Second, as far as doing Ubers.. this build on current ladder does more damage in an aoe with multiple elemental types than a poke zon single target - that's wild. So for me, to have some awkwardness with the most INSANE build makes sense.

@@jymnasium oh, of course the build is super OP, no doubt about that. And I see your point of view, too. I myself wouldn't exactly prefer it this way as I remember struggling a bit even with build we have today. I mean, early on when I just got my two mosaics that rolled say average at best, and I didn't have enigma yet and any skillers, no to mention CTA with BO/BC. So if the build would randomly loose charges at this stage, that would be super annoying. My point is, you need all the good gear for this build to be that OP. An average one isn't that strong in my opinion.

@@marcindoman Sorry, but i disagree - the build is still too strong with just 2 mosaics and here's why: a cc aoe that's nearly a full screen freeze (charge 3 of PS) you lose damage cuz you're not using charge 2, but CoT, BoI and FoF give enough damage to compensate, then you're doing all 3 elemental damage types (plus phys from tiger strike, but early on without decent boots it's minimal), so there's nothing you can't kill. And finally, the sustain from cobra strike is insane. - I'll cover this with a naked sin except for the 2 plain mosaics :)

The issue with that is then any MA sin prior to Mosaic is completely useless :(

Infinity Nova Soso can do full p8 chaos clear without diablo in 1:30-2 mins. With merc of course.

@@jymnasium yea I honestly feel you can dial it back a bit more cause a lot of us were testing that %. I still feel it should cap between 90 to 95% but let the percentage vary on the roll. Which would help a bit with people wanting the best item. Of course those changes would affect how the people who don't want to farm for runes and wait on free gear play though. I'm glad its powerful I remember when no one ran it lol. So I do like it being able to creep in power.

Neat idea, but more complicated than the small changes they seem to do, so I kept it simple.
