      Hundreds of years ago we had a similar thing to your second amendment, it was about defence of the realm and not having a standing army. But that, although still on the books has been very much side lined. Plus, the shooting community is very fragmented in the UK, with some disciplines not supporting the rights of all shooters. EG, back in 1988 we had a shooting and the guy used self-loading rifles, our National Rifle Association, which bears little resemblance to your NRA turned round to the government of the time who were looking for excuses to ban SLRs and said we can see no reason, why sporting shooters need self-loading rifles and that was the end of that, when the major firearms association sides with the enemy. We had similar situations with our handgun ban, with some disciplines simply looking the other way, or coming down on the side of the ban. You guys should not get complacent, as they will try with you too....

      Ah a REME boy, what trade? Yeah I know about cycling and accuracy, just a demo. If we do something they'll come for us, if we do nothing, they'll still come for us. In this WOKE world, there's one group of innocents that have no rights: SHOOTERS, nor are we that organised, with some of our community happy to sell out another to protect their discipline. Sorry to be so negative, but I've been at this game a long time and suffered under two major bans, which did nothing but divide and decimate our community, so use it before you loose it!

    Had no idea there were British gun guys. Excuse me if you’re not from England. This was a unicorn video for me. Would have never thought I’d be hearing someone with your accent shooting an AR. Firstly I’d like to apologize for you having to shoot that rifle in that manner. A direct gas impingement gun should never be subjected to having a charging handle attached to the bolt in that manner. You should check out the BCM large mod charging handle. I hope someone buys you a ticket to fly over to the states so that you can fully experience the ar platform as it was intended to be shot.

    • @PCMGuns
      @PCMGuns 5 дней назад

      Mate, yes were are mad Brits 🤣I know what you mean, I'm an old man now, but pre the 1988 self loading rifle ban, I shot and collected military rifles. When the ban came in it broke my heart to give up all my hardware, especially my beloved AR15 A2 with Colt, 3x20 BDC scope on top, best darn AR I ever owned and a gorgeous M1 Garand. I know what you mean about 'neutering' the AR, but it was the only game in town and I was, and am, still happier shooting my side-cocking AR than using a bolt gun. At least I've had the fun times and look back with fond memories on all my toys, and feel sorry for the younger guys who never had the opportunities me and my peers did. Yes, love to come to the US and turn live into empty with anything that rock-n-rolls; who knows? Keep up the good fight! PM

      you know there are gun guys everywhere in europe 😅 300 000 sport shooters and 3 or 4 millions hunters here in france, I'm french and I have some nice toys including that schmeisser but in 18 inch heavier barrel, fixed stock and 222 rem... extremely accurate... some eastern europe countries you can even easily have semi autos, here we can too but it demands extra steps and autorisations. though it's easy to get any manually repeating gun. Any bolt action up to 338 lapua mag, pump shotguns, lever guns...

    Could you compare this to KALIKEY charging handle and maybe Troy PAR/SAR rifles that does similar thing but i wanna see if they all functions the same across the ammo loads

    • @PCMGuns
      @PCMGuns 5 дней назад

      Speaking from a UK perspective, I've looked into the KaliKey system and it's a solution to an 'American" problem only, with certain, US states banning self-loading AR15s, that allows you to convert the rifle to manual operation (man/opp), without surgery. Yes the slightly larger, or really large T-handles do help,, but the basic premise of awkward positioning for operation, without having to break your shooting position remains. Looking at some videos shows shooters lifting their heads off the butt or dropping the muzzle to achieve easy operation. You may feel a side-cocker is ugly, but in the UK it's a 100% improvement to struggling with a T-handle and also eradicates the majority of hard extraction problems;ems too. The Trot PAR, is a pump-action mechanism, which has been banned in the UK since 1988, so a non-starter. The SAR, shows much more promise and I like the way you can switch the charging handle easily. Hope that was of help? PM

    Only just noticed at the end i wasnt watching gunmart tv🤣, nice little option for a compact reasonably priced rifle. Ive owned a rossi 223 before, not sure would i go back to ss. That was with the intention of night foxing though and never got much use unlike my current tikka t3x and bergata b14. For stalking i could see a single shot as a more viable option! Guess the 16" 8-twist would be more versatile regarding non lead but no doubt kick harder. Would be hell of a short.

      Hi, Mauser made a custom version for me, using the green PH, Extreme stock with the adjustable comb of the Target version, I think they did it in 2010. So has been in continuous use for the last 14-years, with no problems, the screws are strong and tighten efficiently every time. What I really like is the fact you can slack off the two vertical steel pillars and move the comb left or right to suit use.

    • @PCMGuns
      @PCMGuns 10 дней назад

      Here's what I found; Schmidt & Bender offers you a lifetime of satisfaction on the performance of your new riflescope. Which includes a twenty years ready on stock parts availability, ten years warranty on assembled parts and a limited two years warranty on electronics. In the highly unlikely event that a problem occurs with your ZCO riflescope, we offer a transferable lifetime warranty that covers mechanical and optical defects due to materials or workmanship under normal use for the life of the riflescope. I like Schmidt's and own four, but you'd think you just get a lifetime warranty given the price. ZCO seems to offer a better deal on that front.

      @PCMGuns 12 дней назад

      As a baby boomer myself, I was of the same opinion as you. My Gen Z daughter turned me on to it and it has shown a marked interest in subscribers. Yes Ruger brought its A-game to the American, but and although the mag capacity is not a big deal, it's a strange choice.

    • @stonewallalaska7566
      @stonewallalaska7566 6 дней назад

      I have the Gen II in .243, and since it takes the AICS mags in .308, you can get five and ten round magazines pretty easy online. But with .243, I find any more than 5 rounds and you definitely need to let the barrel cool.

    • @PCMGuns
      @PCMGuns 29 дней назад

      The 3-12x50 S&B scope allows me to ascertain accuracy potential better, and if hunting, I'd fit something smaller. Ref the can, it's the only 5/8x24 UNEF one I have and it works, so I'm not bothered if its size offends you, as that comment is irrelevant. Dwell time, well, anything that can have a negative effect on accuracy, even at shorter ranges is worth bearing in mind.

    Good greetings from Canada, that is another great shooter from Savage!!! I have some range time with this model, 1000 meters with 25 centimeter target with no issues. Great design for shooting targets and paper but very very heavy. My thoughts are that all versions of American straight pull Savage Impulse rifle really need a GRS style stock like the Bifrost or Warg model or the equivalent from MDT or Woox rifle stocks (especially in the mountain hunter model different than the model in your video). Think of Sako Quest 90 Carbon Fiber stock design on this Savage Impulse design of rifle chambered in 300PRC with a 26 inch carbon fibre barrel on the wide open Tundra in the North or in the high altitude mountain hunts, that would be truly impressive even at the range in PRS events as well. The stock design in your video is more for a semiautomatic or to a lesser degree a turn bolt action like 110, 700, model 70, howas or tikkas . These thoughts are based on almost 30 years of Hunter's experience who enjoys long-distance shooting at the range, and as for thumbhole stocks they really and truly provide the best advantage for semi-automatic in terms of accuracy improvement, no real speed improvement for thumbole straightpull tun bolt actiins. Having said all that, I still go hog hunting with an early 70's Sako Finnwolf lever action (well oiled and very quick) chambered in 308 win for more impressive speed on target as compared to a straight pull out of the box.

      Yes, way too big, but it's the only 5/8x24 UNEF can I have, as Ive never had the need for one as much as the more common imperial and metric threads.

    Nice informative video. I personally use prism optics rather than red dots due to my astigmatism. I have several nice red dot sights mounted to some of my guns and the problem I have with them is that the reticles have a star effect so it's difficult to know where the center of the reticle is. Since I've converted some of my rifles to prism sights I find the reticles to be sharp as they should be.

      Yes, it's a practical alternative. A French friend of mine has the same problem and can't use a conventional scope. He has an AimPoint Micro on his Blaser R8 and has taught himself to shoot very accurately, at ranges not usually associated with red dot systems. I have a Leupold Prismatic, which is a x1 mini scope with conventional reticle and that is a practical, little piece of glass!

    Thanks Pete, must say those and the Reximex are a good value and very accurate PCP.

      Yeah, these days there's some good kit, without having to pay silly money and if the gun shoots straight, as they all seem to do, then it's all down to the nut behind the butt 🤣
