There are modified metros with GY6 conversions. The size of the frame and bodywork doesn’t accommodate them without some unsightly modifications. Yamaha had a version of the Vino (similar to the metro) with a 125cc engine, but it was bulkier than the 50cc version and I do not think it looked as pleasant. Honda would have to do the same, and, at least for the U.S. market, they already have offerings with 125 and 160cc engines (and soon a 175cc in the PCX), which makes it unlikely that they will rush to produce a larger engined version of the Met.

@@honkerman74 I really like the design of the Metro, same goes for the Vespa. I wanted to get the Vespa because it's a beautiful scooter, but the price is quite a bit more and the MPG is significantly lower. Those differences are great enough not to get one. I didn't know the PCX is coming out with a 175cc. I'm going to hold off buying any scooter until i see that one come out. Thanks for the reply.

Beari in mind that my commute is only a little over a mile and I’ve done a substantial bit of snow riding. Proceed at your own peril. It isn’t easy, but the tires do help a lot. This was more an attempt to show that the tires are very good in wet weather rather than to encourage insanity in others 😂😅

@@honkerman74thank you! My commutes are 5 and 7 miles. Don’t really plan to ride in the snow, but I do ride in the wet often. I’ve got a little dual motor electric bike thing. People ask if it’s an electric grom all the time, looks similar. It’s an emove roadrunner pro.

It sounds like fun. It’d be interesting to know how the battery life is in cold weather vs warm

@ it’s already taken a hit. I’m running 60v 90ah. Get about 100 miles of 35-40 sustained riding, 60-70 miles of stop and go in 40mph traffic. In the cold it’s less haha. Power also takes a hit

My headlight only has two bolts. The bottom part has two little nubs that sit in a pair of rubber grommets.

@honkerman74 mine has bolts but the space is so tight I can't get a wrench in. May have to remove the headlight piece, I guess

I’m getting this first thing in the morning and trying to get my brain to do brain things. I plugged one turn signal into each of the leads from the signal box, with the bike running and one of the directionals turned on. I had a led strip plugged in to each of the two circuits and watched to see which one would blink. Once I determined which was which, I then attached the strips to the bike.

Well, the two party system does seem to have a habit of trying to out-stupid itself, so why wouldn’t the lemmings vote for yet another incompetent turd nozzle.

That will depend on jurisdiction. Insurance is required in Pennsylvania for all motor vehicles. They won’t register it if it’s not insured.
