i like that they say their last name a lot as a kid i was in a not so great family situation but we were in it together and my dad would always put emphasis that we were -------- (im not saying my last name) it made me really love my last name even tho its kinda basic so i relate to bonding through our shared last name.

Something that never gets addressed is that if the Gallagher kids have it bad the Milkovichs have it worse. Gallaghers have each other for support, they love each other, and the father (as messed up as he is) will at least occasionally shows some love and support. But the Milkovichs are completely on their own and father is completely abusive in every way possible.

“I’m not sure if Emmy Rossum won any awards for this show” but with all due respect, a simple Google search would answer that question and improve your narration, but that’s the one note I have for you as you continue to grow in your content creation

I changed my mind about debbie. She is the counter characters of lip and fiona. Growing up with parents who are adicts lip and fiona want to do better because they both have to take care of their parents and siblings debbie turns out like the worst parts of the parents becase she always had lip and fiona to care for her she had parents just did not know it

Ian needed a toxic relationship to thrive. He and Mickey beat on each other constantly,committed crimes together and they call that love. Because they both grew up in muddy water they need muddy water to survive

No one ever mentions that the Gallagher kids and Frank, not Liam ,are sex addicts. Debbie believes that because her older siblings are sexually active she should be as well. Debbie, having daddy issues is the reason she appeared to be the ultimate dysfunctional sibling IMO. When Fiona took on the parental role she became the middle unseen child. EVERYTHING she did was a look at me, love me girl move. Her character is disgusting she raped Matty, tricked Derrick, and had an affair with her girlfriend’s underage daughter. She made an immature decision to have a baby and expected everyone to be happy to have to feed another Gallagher. She should have seen how hard the struggle of taking care of children without an education and good paying job was for Fiona and became allergic to sex.

Not finished with the video yet but in the Shameless subreddit I’ve seen a bunch of people talking about how Jimmy was Fiona’s best boyfriend and how they hoped she’d made her way back to him and frankly I think that’s kinda sad. Of course I love a good lovers reunion, but I think Jimmy represents a version of Fiona that should be in the past. To go through nine season worth of development just to have her make her way back to the first guy she dated when she was trying to find herself kind signals to me that nothing about Fiona has changed.

Season 1 acting was really hard to watch.

The show after season 2 lost its meaning

Season 5 really left a bad taste in my mouth. And a large part of that is how they treated the Jimmy/Steve character along with his relationship with Fiona. Season 3 showed that Jimmy CLEARLY cared and loved Fiona. He cared for the Gallagher family even if he didn’t want to be their guardian. And then all of a sudden in Season 5 once Jimmy returns, he doesn’t explain to Fiona that he was LITERALLY KIDNAPPED and had no choice but to leave. Fiona knew about Estefania and could piece together the circumstances that lead to him leaving. But, nope. He never explains anything regarding Estefania that Fiona knew about for two seasons. Sorry for the rant but I wanted that relationship to be endgame and it still pisses me off years later 😂 I wish they would have just had Jimmy/Steve go to med school and go with a long distance relationship plot line and how that dynamic effects the kids and Fiona.

it sounds like they’re setting up the potential of the show to get 1-2 more “true final” seasons on a different platform a few years down the line since they unambiguously left plot lines open/started new ones. unless the writers are that bad to break the number one rule of writing in general - not just in scriptwriting: never introduce new concepts in the conclusion. unless maybe the finale was written during the writers’ strike? i didn’t watch the show beyond a few tiktok clips, but that would explain why it went off the rails in the last few seasons

Idk but I just feel that I could relate to this show so much right when I first saw it. I was raised by my dad if you want to call it that. I got my first job at 15 to support myself. My dad was never around much. He would tell me to watch his friends kids while we were all upstairs in the apartment together. My mother never wanted to care for me and still doesn’t ever want to be in my life I would say due to mental health issues… I’d say because of all these things, it’s held me back in life and made me who I am today… always struggling. But I love my daughter and even though I only got my GED and work my butt off to not get very far, I’m happy there’s a lot of love in my life.

I was so!! Addicted to this show. I used to live tweet it every week. Then when they went to college ( so I'm guessing season 5 ish) I just lost interest and stop watching. It's been dragged out to long. Season 1 was amazing!!

To me this show just felt like it was exploiting middle class people’s fantasies of what they pretentiously imagine the lives of poor people are like and there’s so many patronizing tropes utilized throughout the show that stem from its middle class presumptions about lower class life. Couldn’t get passed season two.

They should have made Asher's dad abusive not an alcoholic. That's where I thought they were going.

I wish it was more football-focused. It became a teen soap. Jordan and Asher are my fave male leads and Layla is my fave of the women.
