How many clicks from full tight for decaf?
I counted up 90 from “0” so I think from full tight that would be around 95 clicks. That worked well for me with this decaf.
Quick question if tou have time. What setting for a drip coffee maker? Thanks, Mark
@@MarkMphonoman hey thanks for the question! I use 90-95 clicks for my pour over drippers using 15-20gram doses in an Orea flat bottom Dripper and in a V60. I’ve had feedback from people saying they find that to course and they prefer to grind around 70 clicks for a V60 Dripper. Are you using a manual pour over Dripper or an electric coffee Dripper? Also, what dose of coffee are you typically using?
Nice another coffee channel lol. What coffee bean are you using here. Looknice and light
@@ashoc0 🙌😄 yes another coffee channel here! This coffee bean is from Onyx Coffee Lab called “Tropical Weather” it is a light roast Ethiopia blend. I’ve been enjoying it so far as a pour over. For me it’s a very smooth and balanced coffee with sweet fruity notes.

What is the model of that scale?
It is the Cafesing Owl G2 scale. Nice size for espresso! They also have a G1 that is a lower price, looks exactly the same I think they just updated the sensitivity of the auto start timer in the G2.
Thanks, i"m thinking of buying one as well. Is it bloking at 0 to know you got back to original point ? Otherwise how do you know if you are at 0 , 60 or 120 ?
Nice! I think it’s a good choice. Yes, when you get to 0, actually a few clicks bellow 0 it locks. Then I go back up to 0 to start counting. Also, there is the little gauge with a “1, 2, 3, 4” on the side that helps you see how many full rotations you have gone. I’ll try to make a short to demonstrate.
@@runningon.coffeeThanks for your answer it's ok I've seeing the little 1,2,3,4
pour me a cup please! looks delicious and peaceful.
@@trystuff.coffee it was delicious! ☕️
Hello, is the quality of the funnel good? Or should I buy Normkor funnel?
@@arminchaharlang4872 great question! The quality of the Knodos dosing funnel is good, I use it daily and have no complaints. The size and weight are good, the magnets work well. It also came with a nice puck screen which is cool. I’ve never used the Normcore funnel so I can’t speak to how it compares but I know that is a reputable brand.
Curious baby interrupted pour-over brew session. 😄 Delicious afternoon decaf with the V60. I brewed this with a relatively low water temp at 190 degrees and a short 1:12 ratio. Came out smooth and delicious. So you enjoy decaf coffee or do you go full strength 24/7 ? Very Helpful video! By the way, K6 has a lot of statics, try to spray just a little bit of water on coffee beans before grinding (results are great!)
Hey I’m glad you like the video! Great advice to use RDT for reducing static. I should do that more actually.
I was on 30 clicks initially too, got a 15 seconds shot and was too sour. slightly better on 26 clicks but still got to go finer. I find the recommendation too coarse
@@Auggie246 thank you checking out the video and for the comment! Yes, the 30 clicks is definitely at the top end of the espresso adjustment. The adjustments definitely vary depending on the coffee, dose, and machine. For example, I used this same basket, coffee and dose on a Flair 58 and the shot sprayed everywhere at 30 clicks. I think I ended up grinding close to 20 clicks on that one. I will work on a follow up video to actually dial in an espresso with the KINGrinder K6, not just showing time top range. 🙌
Mine flows best around 22-26 from zero mark( which is about +3-5 clicks from locking)
Hi, a comparison with the zp6 could be interesting
That would be an interesting comparison. I don’t have a zp6 yet but, if I do, that will be a video to make!
☕️☕️
i do love me some pure colombian!
😂 somehow I feel like we are talking about two different types of Columbian here
Nice😋
Thank you 🙌
Hello. I'm a new Aeropress user. I love the way you reversed the pour. Does it impact the taste at all? Thank you!
@@caseygutierrez5349 hey thank you! 🙌 I think it does change the taste brewing inverted like this because you have no water passing through and dripping into the cup until you start pressing. All the water you pour in stays in contact with the coffee grinds until you begin to press. So, you may have to alter you brewing method a bit to account for this but I have prefer this method because I feel like I can control the brew better and have more consistent cups. I hope this helps!
how do you read the scale on the body of the grinder, what do the 1-4 mean?
It shows you how many full rotations you have gone through. Starting at “0” one full rotation is 60 clicks. You can do four full rotations for a total of 240 clicks. That little gauge on the side helps you see where you are. I hope that helps!
Nice! I have the Cafesing Orca and the new Go versions. I really do enjoy the ghost burr profile. The cafesing grinders are a little quirky, but the cup quality is nice!
@@braxtonjens7839 awesome! That is a great way to put it! It is a quirky grinder, but delicious cup!
Interesting. How do these ghost burrs this one compare to you kingrinder k6?
Great question, I’ve been planning a video comparison of the K6 and the Orca Ghost burr. The main differences I noticed are 1. K6 grinds quicker. 2. They both produce a good tasting cup of coffee, the ghost burrs just brighten the coffee a bit and highlight the fruity notes especially in a light roast. The K6 is more diverse in grind size options, because it can grind all the down to espresso if needed. I hope this helps!
@@runningon.coffee Thank you. This grinder seems so conflicting. Some really like it and others just don't. Some say similar things to you like how it emphasizes fruit and florals, while others say it's muddier and not as good as the comandante style burr grinders like the K6 and k-ultra. Have you noticed any difference in grind quality by holding the grinder at different angles while you grind? Since it's a flat burr grinder I suspect that holding the grinder vertically so that the burrs are parallel with the floor would just cause the grinds to sit in the burrs and regrind until more grinds from the prebreaker push them out. Whereas tilting the grinder should help facilitate the grinds to fall through the burrs by gravity.
@@chahahc you are exactly right. I have noticed better grind quality when holding it at a slight angle. Holding it vertically does drastically slow down the grind time and causes a lot of fines which does give you a muddy and pour tasting brew. I know compared to the K6 I would say it is on par with the quality, just highlights different notes. I have never used a comadante so I don’t know how it would compare to that one, in my mind that is like top of the hand grinder line haha!
Question for you Trent! How do you like the Orca Go? I have considered picking up the Ghost Burr version for on the go action but I've heard of issues like build quality and slow grinder speed for the last 10% of beans being less than optimal for the overall experience. Also this Costa Rican you brewed sounds delicious!
I have really enjoyed the Orca Go Ghost Burr Model, I’ve been using it daily for pour-over since I got it. The build quality has significantly improved over the original Orca G1 in my opinion. It feels really nice and like a more sturdy unit. It is a noticeably slower feed rate than conical burr hand grinders and this is most noticeable with the last bit of beans. I’d say it takes a solid 1:30- 2:00 to grind up a 15-20 gram dose. I haven’t had an issue with retention on this one, maybe .1 grams from some coffees. The original Orca G1 did have retention. The thing that bothers me the most is the catch cup feels short in my hand and with my long fingers I always feel like I’m about to drop it 😅 What I love about the grinder is the way it highlights fruity and bright notes in my pour-over brews, especially in light roast. I’ve enjoyed the overall experience with it so far. It is a great addition to my pour-over set up. I hope this helps! 🙌☕️
Also, that Costa Rica coffee is delicious! I’ve not had a Costa Rica like this one before!
I use 55 clicks for mine
@@classifiesconfidential4330 awesome! What dose of coffee do you normally use for yours?
This is hilariously pretentious. The fact that you go through all this for 4 ounces of coffee is insane. And you obviously you don't know what cherry cola tastes like because there is no way that coffee smells ore tastes like it. Thanks for the laugh.
Hey thanks for checking out my video🙌☕️
I also usually do 95 clicks for a v60! I think it makes a decently under extracted brew, but I love a good punchy acidity that just seems to be lost when going any finer. That was until I started to use distilled water remineralized with one of the coffee water packets. Usually have to grind at 87-90 to get the same tasting notes, but there is far more clarity! Do you notice that 1-2 click adjustments make a significant difference in the end cup? I sometimes do and it seems like such a small adjustment shouldn't affect a pour over so much, but I wanted to see what other people think!
That is awesome! I use remineralized water as well. I have noticed that one or two adjustments can make a noticeable difference in pour over. I am usually between 90-95 with my pour over depending on the coffee. It is strange one will be best at 95 another will be best at 93. I don’t really understand it but I can taste it 😂
Opus was my first legit grinder 👍 but I think I got a lemon, had to return it. Might have to try again some day 🤔
Nice! It has been a good grinder for me so far. It is definitely an entry level espresso grinder though. There are a lot of better options if you are willing to to spend a little more!
What does the name Ghost Burr mean? Sweet video! Thanks for making it!
The ghost burr is a style of flat burr that has larger knob type cutters and has more of a crushing effect compared to a more traditional flat burr. The Cafesing grinders off both styles.
Cool video! What is the circular piece of cloth the canister is sitting on? What do the numbers mean that ring the outside of it?
It is kind of a coaster. It came with the canister. I think the design on it is supposed to be a calendar or something, not sure but it fits perfectly under the canister and makes for a soft place to set it down on the counter haha!
That’s look quite exquisite 😻
Thank you! 😊🙏
My grind setting for the Tetsu Kasuya 40/60 V60 (light roast) recipe is 76-78 clics. For an espresso about 38-41 clics.
That is great information! What dose do you normally use for V60 and for espresso?
How many clicks
@@papantlaflayer-l-9062 for the Timemore C2 most of the time I grind between 16-19 for the aeropress.
I have the same set-up. Its great isn't it?
Thanks! Just got my K 6 and this was helpful 😊
Excellent! I’m happy to hear this was helpful. Congratulations on the new K6 grinder :)
is that evo or classic?
It is the Evo, I purchased it July 2023
Would love to see a video dialing in for an aeropress, been using 68 clicks on the k6 for a dark roast
I will work on a video for that! I usually grind between 60-70 for aeropress depending on the coffee

Does it fit inside the aeropress?
Unfortunately it does not fit inside the aeropress. It is just slightly too large.
ruclips.net/user/shortsUymfZcJxDKQ?si=30Z9PDM4fnBSriDt
Interesting, I grind much finer at 70 (110 on the dial) clicks for a v60. But I do a slow feed by holding the grinder almost sideways and that will make the beans coarser and produce notably less fines.
That sounds interesting, I’m going to give it a try. Do you count 70 clicks or 110 clicks for this method?
That is very satisfying to watch and listen to. I close my eyes and imagine all this happening next to me... Then I'm bummed that my drink isn't next on your bar!
Thank you! 🙏 it was fun making this ASMR style video. Glad to hear it was satisfying to watch!
I'm curious about your grind. I just got one, but haven't used it yet. Waiting for my Anza to come. They say espresso is between 1-2 for the Opus. Have you noticed what types of roasts you're going higher with?
I should probably make a longer video about this. Most of my espresso is with what would be considered a medium roast. I have noticed for me the dark roast = courser grind (closer to 3) and light roast = finer grind (2 or below) There are a lot of other variables that would change how you need to grind. I’m not familiar with the Anza but I believe it is a higher end machine than my Gaggia so that alone could change things. Here are the other parameters of my espresso shot with medium roast. - 20gram DEX (deep extraction) basket. - 1:2 ratio with 18 grams in 36 grams and out. - For most of my espresso shots I aim for about 25 seconds from pump on to pump off. - I do use a thin puck screen. For dark roast I will typically go for a 1:1 ratio with 20grams in 20grams out. For light roast I will go for 1:2.5 ratio with 18grams in and 45 grams out. The grind setting is different for every bean I use so but the range is usually the same as mentioned in the video with only a few exceptions as needed. I hope this helps! I will try to make a video soon to help as well
nice grinder..looks small but sturdy
Thank you! It is a very sturdy grinder. Size is similar to a timemore but this one is slightly taller and the handle is a little longer I think.
Gonna try this one, thanks!
Awesome 🙌 let me know how it works for you!
That is looking nice!!
Thank you! Making progress little by little!
Yes! This is a helpful video, thank you! Like and subscribe! ❤
Actually just seeing that your grind setting is where it’s at is super helpful. I’ve seen so many videos with the setting is between 1 and 2 and I can’t even seem to pull a shot but I was scared to go up too high so I was moving small increments. I definitely think it’s just too fine.
Awesome! 🙌 I’m glad that helped. Dialing in espresso can be frustrating but once you figure out the range that works best for the coffee you are using it will make the process easier!
You’re not doing anything though. What’s the point of this video? No tips or advice or settings…

How's the tamper working for you?
It has worked well for me so far. Fits good in the portafilter, the handle is comfortable and I’ve pulled good shots using it. I go back and forth between this one and my clear handled Ikape tamper.
what about V60? how many clicks? i've read that there are 120 clicks but i dont see it written on the grinder i dont know how
65 to 70
I’ve used 90-95 clicks for V60 with a 20gram dose. That is just what has works for me. As far as how to count the clicks I am going to make a video on this but 60 clicks is one full turn. So you can turn the adjustment dial multiple times around you just have to count the clicks. There is a gauge on the side that helps you keep track.
What is the grind set?
I usually go about 60 clicks on the Kingrinder K6 for aeropress.
