This fantastic video was made by intrepid WWOOFer Lily Bell who has become something of a WWOOFing legend here in the UK (and in every other country Lily has / is WWOOFing in) Lily offered to make some videos for us which offer advice for those who'd like to hear from someone who's out there doing it!!!

Land-based practical skills are more popular than ever with the challenges of the climate emergency and post pandemic era, so now is the best time ever to explore the UK countryside and learn relevant knowledge in a very practical setting through hands-on experiences.

I love you all.
Glad this pathetic organisation has been banned as a conduit for untaxed slave labor and abuse by UK farmers (weirdos in general), wwoof administrators condone the abuse too, with their silence and gas lighting Very happy to advise on TWO farms I worked at regarding their fraud, tax evasion and practices in Devon and Truro. SEE BELOW, nobody will even put their own name to this, letter sent, I bet they did not refund anyone, that's to be expected. READ Letter SENT to mugs who paid for a s*it-scription. .WWOOFer It has recently come to WWOOF UK’s attention that an amendment to UK National Minimum Wage legislation is likely to impact on WWOOFing. Following receipt of legal advice our interpretation of the situation is that hosts who accept WWOOFers may be considered to have broken the law. We have therefore had to advise them to consider whether, in the short term, they should continue to host WWOOFers. The result of this is that for a number of months there may be fewer WWOOFing opportunities. To help minimise this we have temporarily paused the recruitment of new WWOOFers. To be clear, you will continue to be able to make visit requests as some hosts may not be affected by the changes and others may choose to continue to host as normal. We appreciate this will be disappointing news. Ultimately it is a host's own personal decision whether to continue to host WWOOFers. This may mean some hosts decide to cancel booked visits. However, you will still be able to visit if a host decides they are willing. We believe that it is right and necessary that we let you know about this situation. At this point we can give you no further advice. However we continue to believe that the Government does not want to block the WWOOFing movement within the UK. The changes were designed to protect au pairs and domestic workers from exploitation. However, the fact remains that WWOOF seems to have inadvertently been caught up in the same net. We will be doing everything we possibly can, as quickly as we can, to ensure WWOOFing can be viewed as a legal activity. This might take the form of further legal advice / or lobbying and advocacy. Either will take time, especially lobbying and advocacy. As soon as we are able, we intend to hold online meetings to air any questions. At this point we will also be inviting any WWOOFers with ideas and expertise to step forward to help ensure we can exempt WWOOF UK from the amended National Minimum Wage legislation. We appreciate what a truly unexpected and undesirable situation this is, and we promise we'll be back in touch with you just as soon as we have any further news or information. With best wishes, The WWOOF UK Team"

Hello dear How can i apply for work
Hi, Thank you for your interest in WWOOF UK. Here's are links to our website where you can find everything you need to know about how to join our organisation and arranging stays with our hosts: wwoof.org.uk/ and answers to frequently asked questions here: wwoof.org.uk/en/how-it-works Just to be clear, there is no application process to become a WWOOFer. You simply join and then contact the hosts. If you live outside of the UK then you must read this information before you join and travel to the UK for WWOOFing: org.wwoof.uk/visiting-the-uk-visa/ There is no paid work on offer. WWOOFers stay as guests of the hosts and immerse themselves in the day-to-day lifestyle of the host, learning through practical, hands-on experiences. Many thanks. The staff team, WWOOF UK
@@wwoof_uk thanks a lot dear But I understand from your words that in a WWOOF you do not submit an attendance claim, or in other words, a visa to attend

Hi, yes! There are two hosts in Namibia and you can find out more about them and how to join WWOOF Independents here: wwoof.net/destinations/ Btw: WWOOF Independents is the organisation that looks after all the WWOOF hosts in countries where they don't have their own national WWOOF organisation. hello dear
Hello 👋🏽
Are you still wwoofing? What length of time do you typically stay for with each of your hosts? Do you not find it tiring being on the move and not having your own place?
Is there a number i can get in contact with you id love to have a chat?
Met some great people on my woof ing experiences 2009/2010. i had an amazing and refreshing time...didnt want it to end to be honest....
Thank you for sharing your feelings about WWOOFing here. We're so happy to hear you enjoyed the experience so much ☺
This video is criminally underrated for being so well produced. This is a really a good insight into volunteer work and I'll be looking forward to seeing more videos like this 👍
So glad you like the film and the production. We totally agree with you, such a good insight into volunteering. Keep 'em peeled 👀
Fantastic film. Well-done and thank you. I am going to try harder in my garden this year. Sally
Thank you. We're so glad the film has had a positive impact on you 😊
In my younger years, I did some wwoofing myself and it was indeed a life changing experience that I will never forget. Now, many years later and after few years of various health issues, I have decided to go woofing again to reconnect with myself and nature, which is the best medicine there is. Best of luck to Hannah, I hope she is doing well.
Thank you for sharing your story here, Alex. We'd like to wish you the very best of luck with your next WWOOFing experience - welcome back.
Very nicely shot
This is so heartwarming to watch. As a trainee psychiatrist I'm listening hard to what you have to say. Best of luck Hannah, you are very brave and have all the tools within you to recover.
Lovely story I’m very happy for you x
I've only just heard about wwoofing. Do you know of a Shropshire wwoofing group I can get in touch with?
Hi Lozzahips, the best way to find a Shropshire group would be to join WWOOF UK and get in touch with one of the hosts there. We know there is an informal network of hosts who are friends and WWOOFers often stay at one farm and move on to another. Good luck and enjoy! wwoof.org.uk

It s good idea
We are very happy that you think so! 😊
@@wwoof_uk yeah i would like to have a farm too. But not easy to find a place
Just a question, is wwoofing considered as a work for the administration or we are considered as tourists ? Also, the thing is, I'm still a minor, so I would need some more permissions ? Thanks ;)
Hi Sacha, Thank you for your interest in WWOOFing. To answer your first question, WWOOFing is volunteering. You could regard it as an energy exchange i.e. helping organic farmers and food growers in exchange for learning through hands-on experiences plus food and accommodation. So you are not volunteering for WWOOF UK, we are a membership organisation facilitating these volunteering opportunities. The minimum age for UK members is 16 years of age. If you are younger than this you'd need to be accompanied by a member of WWOOF UK to go WWOOFing. Here's a link to our website where everything is explained and more. Enjoy 🌻
Thanks a lot, very helpful

I love WWOOF's proposition. That's the way! Nature, people, help, travel, learn values, ... so many good stuff. Looking forward to get the opportunity to be there... somewhere... WWOOFing a bit. Tks.
I would love to do this. I've only recently come across it and immediately am interested and it sounds fantastic. I'm not quite sure id be any good at it though I can't even keep a plant alive 😅 😕 🤦♀️ but I'd certainly love to learn and know how to grow my own food its definitely given me something to look into abit more and one day I may be a wwoofer myself!!
All you need is enthusiasm and the spirit of adventure. Go for it! If you're lucky there might be a host farm or smallholding near to you, so you could pop over just for the day to 'dip your toe into the water' 🌻

Can we visit the UK from Canada to WWOOF with current restrictions in place?
That's a good question right now. The answer is to take a look over on our website. We have a page on the covid-19 situation with links to relevant government sites; also we have a page dedicated to visa and immigration issues. Here are the respective links: wwoof.org.uk and wwoof.org.uk/how-it-works/visa-information We hope this will give you everything you need to know. Good luck and if you can't make it to the UK this year we know there's an amazing choice of WWOOF Canada hosts to choose from. 🌻
