So when land is allocated it must also come with infrastructure, police, busses, trains, schools, small hospitals small supermarkets, parks, community halls, sports grounds, and swimming pools community day care centres fore the aged and disabled. All of these services create jobs so the flow on becomes self sufficiency and pride over time. Council offices, and council staff to maintaine the infrastructure. Single lane, highly congested, no emergency lanes, often no rail or bus links. They pay high tax and have a daily commute of 60 to 90 minutes each direction to work and home. The N2 is certainly not perfect and was planned when there were a lot fewer citizens in and around Cape Town. Who knew the city ould have to accommodate the influx and would grow to almost 5,000,000 citizens excluding tourists?
