I would never have started listening if I had k own how many adverts were interspersed,,,, the first times I listened to these series there were very few,
Nice! Love this narrator, and the series is very entertaining so far! Keep them coming!
Just started listening. I like the voice of the reader and the book seems interesting❤
Really good book excellent narration. Thank you x
Thank you!!
Thank you once again for introducing me to this author, my bookclub bill is testament to how much I have enjoyed this series.😊
2 hours in and if it turns out to be someone in a disguise is the killer that would be disappointingly similar to the previous book
Excellent and so much twists and turns. Narrator is the best!
Love these books but an ad every 5 minutes takes away the enjoyment....
Brilliant story.
I like the story but really don't like this narrator, and so many cosy murder books are narrated by him, damn!
Very good stories, pity about RUclips being brain dead over adverts.
i like the series but the whole story relies on a fantastic coincidence that just isnt credible. Bringing 3 targets to the same remote village through coincidence, its too much
I enjoyed that so much! Thank you
Great book great 1 narrator thank you❤❤ and
I think the comment by @ryannevanderburgh6031 should either be edited to remove spoiler or identified at beginning of comment that it contains spoiler information The book is now spoiled for me.
Thank you for this Audiobook! I've been looking for authentic stories and authors read by real people, actors and thespians who understand how a book should be read. Lovely characterizations. You've made this old English Major very happy.

I've enjoyed this book. The only thing I find is that Ellis repeats herself quite a bit. She's very fond of saying things like "Steph, who had know Oldroyd a long time and so knew what he was like" or words to that effect. I think it comes up several times in the book. We only need to be told this near the beginning and not again and again.
Great narrator but that story was weak. They talk about 'the 80's ' like they were the 1880's. A 9 hr story that was only about a 2hr story.
I read the title wrong.... thought it said something else 😭
Way too many adverts which spoilt the enjoyment of this recording.😡
Not sure who was more annoying, Karen or Sophie
This was really really really good. I really hope the sequel comes.
Labor Government > the river yurin…
1 hr + and enough.... so Slow and Repetative... not much of a plot...

Yes he's a great narrator
Thank you for this great book
Cant stand the narration and too much padding
One person's padding is another person's atmosphere❤
too anoying
I hate all the adverts . Every 4 minutes . Its my opinion that harsings the listner with so many adverts chases them away from RUclips
In most of these books after about 4 hours or so the ads stop. However until then, it's extremely annoying. Especially if you're listening while driving.
You tube wants you to buy the ad free version. Just like Prime does.
The narrator Michael page is the best narrator ive listened to for many years . Ive been listening to his audiobooks now for last month and he brings every character alive ..great books to listen to no matter what your doing ...

I am especially fond of Yorkshire. I cannot say why . Maybe some special feelings for this part of England. That is why I am facsinated with all works of this author. I appreciate it very much to be able to listen to this wonderful author.

It was interesting seeing how Carter started off in this book series, Ive listed to later books so watching him develop is enjoyable. What I like about Ellis is that we are given all the clues quite early on and it gives a sense of accomplishment to figure it out before the characters do. I think that is what the author intends, to make us feel that eureka moment.
My introduction to Ellis, like it!

Okay, I 'll be the odd man out. I find this novel a load of twaddle. The leader (Lord help me, I cannot understand what his name is. It as if the reader is saying it with a mouth full of marbles.) is an idiot asking questions and pursuing lines of inquiry no real detective would The supporting characters are wooden. The reader's range of character voices is limited. When I started listening to the book I figured I would listen to this to the end and go to the second novel in the series to see if it improves. Coming this far, I will not go beyond this one. I'll listen to the conclusion. It is rare that I will walk away from a book. But where are my manners, thank you for the time you took in posting this. Many seem to enjoy it. I'll keep listening, but I doubt that I will respond to any comments, that is if anyone wishes to. Cheers.
Cuz the character HAS marbles in his mouth. So he’s just …. You know. … acting that out 😂😂
"Woke" in these stories clearly means treating others as you would like to be treated. The fact that this appears to be a foreign concept (or even a source of irritation) to some folks, probanly explains a lot about the mess wherein we find ourselves irl.
Can’t decide if it is the reader or the tell that keeps me coming back 😊
Thank you! Excellent. Great narrator. Enjoyed it so much.
