Thats correct, unfortunately three of these fish have died, including the black fish. The last couple of winters have been particularly harsh winters, and I've lost several fish since this video was made, I had even increased the depth of the pond.

i bet the black one is male and the other three were females lol ^_^

Unfortunately the black died in a white spot outbreak early on this year. I still have two of the shubunkins shown in this vid though, the one thats mostly white with a large red patch and the one with large black blotchess, which is now even more blacker. So I'm guessing shubunkins may sometimes become more black with age.

you are lucky loo black shubunkins are kinda rare kinda difficult trying to find a place that sells . i would pay £20 + for just one !!! Lool

It was from my brothers pond and he got it from a friend along with 5 other fish, although three of the others had died sometime before I got them. So I don't know where to get them from. Although I'm guessing black shubunkins can be bought anywhere that sells shubunkins

@sydissydable I don't keep them in the tub, I only put them in there to show them off. There actually kept in a pond.

@Obliv69 The same can be said for any calico coloured goldfish. I prefer the calico fantails, I have one which has no colouration at all, just a solid pinkish white, which you can see in another vid of mine.

shubby's are the best. each one has unique markings or cool patterns

@littlelauren971 It could possibly be a baby goldfish. I take it that you had no idea your fish had babies, because goldfish do eat there young while they are small and only a small percentage survive, unless you remove them from there parents.

@MOMOFAN001 Yeah they were in the tub just to show them off. I keep them in a pond and at the timje the vid was taken I did a partial water change so I put them in that small tub to show them off before returning them to the pond.

@anthonybarrett79 well goldfish can breed any time of the year, starting from now. I've even had them breeding in October. Although I'd say it'll be better to wait till May if you plan on breeding.

@4k3el yeah to stop cats and heron from taking any. and yes, when they finish spawning I remove any babies I can find and put them in a seperate pond and sometimes I remove and pondweed with fish eggs stuck to it.

is that a net on top so cats dnt try attacking them? what do u do after they spawn? take them out?

@nakiaguppy23highway Yeah when the fish chase each other around like that, it is usually some males trying to mate with a female, by pushing her into the pondweed. Then she will lay her eggs which will be fertilized externally by the males. The eggs usually hatch within a week depending on the water temperature. My goldfish usually breed from anywhere between may and July, but they can breed as early as April all the way to october if the water is warm enough for them to do so.
