    I really like the way you meticulously make sure your grip is correct even on practice swings. I'm guilty of forgetting to do this.

    I once had a teaching pro tell me that you hit the ball with your body, not your hands. I said, "Why don't you stick the club up your ass and see how far you can hit the ball?"

    I like this thought of the right knee move. I have tried this and it really works as it definitely holds my shoulders back, and therefore I feel that my head has stayed behind the ball. Rather than thinking weight shift left I just think as you have explained, right knee to left toe. This is an easy move to adopt.. It would be really good if you could eventually produce some improved quality videos with better sound and in a better environment, as your advice is well worth listening to.

    Ok, here is the deal. I’m a mid single figure handicap who rarely plays. I have a lot of speed even in my 50ies, eg Ball speed with Driver 172mph. Irons are pulls and poor although strike is ok. Went to the nets before a round today and 5 minutes in I thought I’d try your technique in the backswing. Result, room on the downswing, flushed 5 on the bounce. I then took it to the course and I can honestly say, I was striking my irons like a tour pro. My playing partner, who I don’t know thought I was a scratch handicap, which given the new handicap system I probably am. Thank you so much, you have saved me time, money and brought I smile to my face. I don’t worry about the downswing because it happens automatically. I would like to see a video on driver. I have an overswing, across the line with overextension of my thoracic. I would like to know your thoughts on the driver swing. Thank you again😊

      @shaneowen-progolfcoach9835 4 дня назад

      My friend that comment was so uplifting, thank you. 172 ball speed is a pro speed, I’ll have a think and make a video on driving 💪💪💪

    • @stenson6685
      @stenson6685 4 дня назад

      Yes, I have maintained speed over the years, no loss at all. No training or stretching but I have good mobility. I gain my speed to the 170ies by casting the club head behind me to lose the lag which increases the radius. It’s difficult when you have an overswing because the body has to stop to get the hands back on plane. Where are you based in UK? I’m in Surrey …

    Why can't you move your wrists? And keep the hands and fingers quiet.? The wrists have to move.. be loose and movable to allow the swing to function..

    • @shaneowen-progolfcoach9835
      @shaneowen-progolfcoach9835 5 дней назад

      Hi, the point I’m trying to make is the wrists will move reactively anyway, the main focus should be on correctly positioning the hands.

      Just started watching your videos a couple of weeks ago. I commented on another video that the right knee to left toe was a lighbulb. I played last Saturday and had the absolute best balls striking of my life. Moving the right knee to the left toe makes it easy to drop my hands and get the club in the slot. I hit a par 5 in 2 for the first time ever at my club. I only (slightly) fatted one iron which was my wedge approach on the 18th and that was just when I started thinking too much. Thank you for making me feel excited about my golf swing again instead of trying all these crazy bowing the wrist and extreme body rotation move that made me so inconsistent.

    Why golfers use their arms? Because they don’t rotate down and through nearly enough so the arms are the compensation. 😢

    As a guy who jacked around with lag dozens of times, I found it never works in the end. You can screw around with it for awhile in your swing but it just never is the real final answer. Lower skilled players think artificially produced lag will give them more distance with an easier swing. And it will. But again, it is never the final answer. Too much unrepeatable timing ultimately creeps in. In the end, lag that is created with enough of an athletic swing that the wrists can't hold back will be the swing you will end up with as an accomplished player. Whether you care to believe it or not, hitting the ball 300+ yards is going to take an emotion filled athletic swing. There is no reliable artificially produced lag shortcut to that. The average "hack" does not want to believe that. They read all this crap on RUclips rather than prove it to themselves on the range.
