Which orchestra is this?
This is the best interpretation of this piece that can be found so far...😮😮😮😻
Amazing!!! I cannot believe that Mr. Liu is a survivor of the rare type of muscular atrophy that literally paralyzed him.. Piano must be in his soul to sustain him and lead him to more than overcome.
such a beautiful piece
such an amazing performance
Wikipedia thinks this is a variation on the 24th caprice theme - this does not appear to be the case

marvellous !!!!!!!!!!
How great is this! Using Paganini's caprice via Liszt
bravo
watching his hands play is a pleasure: his hands play with grace, with style, with seeming effortless: such is the power of mastership.
Taiwan Proud!
12 years & 1000 views but no comments and only 13 likes...how come? It's a lovely piece, well played 😁
Who thought it would be variations on the 24th caprice theme?
Proud of Taiwan
I assume that the theme is omnipresent but I hardly recognize it through the variations.
The art of variation is not primarily about recognizing the theme you're making variations upon, but to create new material from it, transforming it into totally different shapes, transferring it to far away places that seem to be unconncted to the original idea but really are not, there are always hints and clues that derive from the starting material and have been developed to take you on this journey. Plus: you don't always have to take the theme as a whole, you can take bits and peaces from it and develop them independently into new structures and forms, so that you don't hear the original theme any more.
It is La Campanella and is there all the way through
@@FranzKaernBiederstedt this is well explained however i don't agree on the fact you don't recognize the thema even in contemporary/modern music. See Lutoslawski !
@@FranzKaernBiederstedt i don't like this rhapsody... it is anecdotical, not intense enough
@@pauljackson1029 with the score and for the eyes?
Excellent!
Lovely and well performed
This guy is spectacular.
Thank you.
amazing!!!
😍😍😍
So crisp
A wonderful artistic violinist. When I was a young violin student, I was fascinated by his superb recording of a Paganini concerto which I listened to many times, and looking at the record cover was wondering who he was and about his nonexistent career. He sounded fabulous. I heard many good things about him over the years. It was interesting that he was kind enough to play with his string quartet for my father's memorial concert in Northern Illinois University in Dekalb Illinois. My. father was Jacques Singer a wonderful musician, a conductor and violinist. My father was in the Philadelphia orchestra under Leopold Stokowski, and was a student of Leopold Auer (teacher of Jasha Heifetz) I still don't like this piece though.
Wow it is amazing
Stunning! the control of your touch. It sounds like you really feel to sing this time!
Very happy to see unrecorded Liebermann works on RUclips. I wish his complete music was out there to listen to.
Like Aaron Rosand and Oscar Shumsky, Mr Ashkenasi is one of the great artist-violinists who isn’t a household name, but is deeply admired, respected, and loved by his colleagues, peers, students, loyal listeners, and a discerning public that appreciates his unique artistry.
oh wow. That is so impressive that he picked such a virtuous piece for the encore....
Can't imagine Liszt sight-read this one..
Remember, he did so from the original manuscript and he gave commentary while playing.
Yo tambien vine por eso jajajaja
Beautiful!! ❤️
Very enjoyable. Top class performance!
so good
I think I knew 劉孟捷 when I was still a elementary school student at 塩埕國小 in Kaohsiung.
What a superb pianist, what a discovery last night!
Outstanding performance.
Meng-Chieh Liu - Thank you again for this performance!
Wonderful ... truly wonderful and insightful performance. Thank you Meng-Chieh Liu!
It sounds confusing there’s so much going on it distracts the main notes they cancel each other.
