We were looking for one of these old onion toppers for quite some time. Put a new C-face 1 1/2 hp motor on it and built a simple loader so we keep all our digits. Make sure you get one with a screen! Saves us many hours of hand work. Doing some for retail now but will put them in bins for winter CSA.

Here's our barrel type carrot washer from Willsie Equipment in Canada. Does a nice job with very small footprint and no mess. Instead of recycling the water with their pump, we have a direct line in which means cleaner, safer wash water. Then we use their pump to drain the tank. Works well on all our root crops.

Shows how we gently loosen the soil so root crops can be easily lifted. In these clips we're undercutting parsnips for our winter CSA.
