I have been playing a chromatic for 60 years and a diatonic for 15 years.once you learn overblow, most songs are possible in diatonic .the newer harps like Trochilus from china have the advantage of a slider or scale changer with diatonic tuning and bendability

Thank you for the useful information. I understand that some harmonicas also have valves besides the reeds. Further, I understand that the less expensive ones are lower in cost because they don't have valves, and are not so airtight. Is there an error in my understanding. Should one choose a harmonica with valves as well ? Please advise.

I waited for you to play all the notes of all the octaves individually. I just bought hohner 270 Deluxe. It's second hole draw note is not sounding properly.

Well friends, you can' compare the two. They're two different types of harmonicas. Each one is designed to play different types of music. You wouldn't play Blues on a chromatic. You could, but it wouldn't sound the same. The diatonic is more for folk, country, sitting around a campfire...you get the idea. A chromatic can play song like Waves of the Danube, Jazz tunes and so on.

I been looking for the Non-Slider from Seydal and found on a better price but not in C as most classes seem to be but in Bb.... I a chromatic Non-slider... Will I feel I am missing out somehow if I chose this model in Bb and not keep looking for one in C? I really like this model both the feel of it, the function and the look.. but the one I found is in Bb.. please help me understand if this is good choice or is better to look for one in C? I like all kinds of music, so is also why I liked the Non-slider that felt more close to how pianos are built up.. but I know too little to tell what will be better to play on a Bb vs a C? what music will Bb be better for than a C for example? thanks for nice video!
