Discovering Thailand on a Motorcycle 7 years ago was one of the best things that happened to me. Since then I have logged 350,000K on several motorcycles and visited and rode in Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam. Malaysia , Myanmar, China , and an Epic trip to Tibet.
I have visited every province in Thailand and there is great riding everywhere but what makes Touring here so great is the kindness of the Thai people. Affordable accommodation, great roads, awesome food , and so many interesting places. From Beaches to Mountains , Thailand has it all.
The Beauty of Thailand is that you can actually travel here on any size motorcycle on any budget and get to experience one of Asia's best countries.

Indochina Tour Part 5 Kampot and Bokor Hill Cambodia with Mike FreeRider
Today we cross into Cambodia from Vietnam and will stay for 2 nights in Kampot. Great spot and the following day we will visit Bokor Hill , bult by the French Colonials for vacationing as the elevation is over 1,000 meters above sea level , so nice cool nights .
The Khmer Rouge also used this area and it was easy to defend.

The Road from Nam Nern Night safari is really in bad shape with lots of dirt sections and broken ashphalt. Thankfully riding the CRF300 was definitely the right choice. Nong Khiaw is a great place to kick back and relax and also take some boat tours upriver and enjoy the many restaurants as well.

Great video Mike, I can hear you talking and the music is fine IMO, not a problem 😎
Thanks for sharing! Nice video and landscape, but not so nice sound levels. When I have the "background music" on a pleasant level, I can only hear some mumbling I guess is you talking.

Traduction: Hi Mike, I just discovered you on the web! I thought you couldn't drive your own vehicle in Vietnam...how did you do it? (I am preparing a long trip from France to Thailand, via Vietnam, my motorbike is also a…750 dct (from 2014) and I am 61 years old. In China, is it possible to ride alone too? Best regard Didier
@@didiermazzer7956 spell to travel in China you have to travel with a group or at least join a group and there are several ones that ride across China but you will not be allowed to go solo. As for Vietnam it's the same criteria you need to have an agency and a group ride to ride your own motorcycle. If you go there and rent you can do whatever you want but if you import your bike then you are subject just to the rules of Vietnam. It's a silly rule but that's life.
@ ok, thanks Mike. I will therefore avoid China and Vietnam, and as the borders of MYAMMAR are closed, I will pass through Pakistan, Russia, Mongolia, Russia and Japan. but here I am stuck, how to reach Thailand or Malaysia is my obstacle today. Thank you in any case for your very clear answer.

Thx for the video👍 Regarding the stickers...instead of removing your view from the seat with a screen full of stickers, maybe you could stick them to regular papers, and keep all the papersheets in a folder in your frunk? Take a picture of the oød windscreen, then you kinda have them all with you 😊

Sure that's from a helo and not one of the An2 Colts that went down or the A1E Skyraider that went down there in 1968? It wasn't just the Pathet Lao that attacked the site. PAVN/NVA was very much involved with the majority of the forces coming from PAVN/NVA creating a roughly 3000 man strong assault force. Sappers and commandos scaled the cliff walls do disarm antipersonnel mines and quick fuse grenades under the cover of an artillery strike used as a diversionary tactic. The PAVN/NVA commander on the ground's after action report is readily available if there are questions regarding the involvement of the PAVN/NVA.

Life is great in Thailand. Language is not a big issue as you can always get by. Google translate is your friend. Enjoy your new suspension
素晴らしい! 私のNC750Xは60,000kmで乗り換えを検討していましたが、考えを変えました。
I have the same bike and also love it. Do you have any videos of your riding in New Zealand?
Unfortunately no just postings on my Facebook page. At that time I wasn't doing a lot of videos and also the schedule was quite tight as we were riding every day. But I can tell you I have fond memories and hopefully next year i'll go back for a couple of weeks
I'm sure it was amazing Mike. Couple more questions when you have a moment... I dream of visiting Thailand and New Zealand. I'm wondering how easy/hard it is to tour if you're completely foreign to the driving, language, culture, weather, hazards, etc. Renting a bike would be another concern (safe, reliable, support if broken down). Based on all these uncertainties are there any organized "Touring Companies" you can recommend in Thailand or NZ? Probably expensive, but I like the idea of be led by a local and enjoy a group ride. Sounds like you may have done something similar in NZ, but I suspect you shipped your bike. Nothing like the comfort and confidence of having your own bike when touring! :) PS. I just subscribed to your Channel. Richard
@@Richard-dh8ny to be honest Thailand is quite easy to travel and you can rent bikes in many places. Cost of rental can be very reasonable depending on the motorcycle you choose. I do some private tours and use the CRF 250 which is nice and easy and convenient and you can ride less travelled roads. There is a series that I did with Gilles and we rode a month together, just the 2 of us . You can contact me on my email address at mikeggs@msn.com. Regarding New Zealand I was on a Honda Sponsored trip for a week so I used a NC750X manual. Since that trip I became good friends with many Kiwis who have come many times to Thailand riding with me , many videos of our trips together.Tours there for sure are more expensive.i don't have any specific touring companies to recommend.
Laos is a very beautiful country but the Laos governments need to improve their way of life fixing all roads everything else this is 21 century still a very poor country hoping one day Laos country will greatly improve
