On both of ours, the clutch return spring at the engine wasn't secured/mounted the correct way. You'll know right away when you try the clutch. Have fun! ADVrider forum is a good source of information and fixes!

No sir, but they were both pretty much out of gas. I switched to reserve once I got on trailer. I think we might go back to stock exhaust also, just too loud. The little research I did suggested possibly an un-metered air leak, so I need to check the vacuum hose that goes up under the tank. I hope to have them out again this weekend.

Figured it out. The pilot jet (the one with the cover on bottom) was only 1 1/4 turn out. After screwing it all the way in, I moved out 2.5 turns. they both run so much better. We are at sea level.
