    I more so say this because the sensory input is much nicer than in an office or retail environment. Not only is clay amazing sensory wise but its probably a more tolerable light and noise level. I imagine you work in an enviroment you have some sense of control over which sounds relaxing

    Is that mayco silk screen thickening you are adding to the underglaze? I make my own transfers on white tissue paper as well but trace them using a glaze bulb needle like tool. So does this work the same way as a regular transfer?

    • @loriyugen5430
      @loriyugen5430 6 месяцев назад

      Do the transfers come off easily? I’ve tried on tissue but the layer comes out too thick.

    This technique is totally also the clay version of Damascus steel and nobody can tell me otherwise. 😊

      Never heard of damascus before I started seeing it all over the comments for this video on Instagram and Tiktok. Sounds cool!

    what does this do? like what purpose does it serve? asking genuinely, not trying to sound like a dick or anything

    • @manoceramicstudio
      @manoceramicstudio 9 месяцев назад

      Thanks for asking! Wax resist soaks into the pores of bisque-fired pots, like this mug, and then dries, preventing other liquids like glaze from seeping in. If I were to stick a pot with a glazed base in the kiln, it would fuse to the kiln shelf. The wax resist (or other techniques like just wiping glaze away with a wet sponge) keeps that from happening.

      @@manoceramicstudiooooof interesting, nice to know! after stumbling on your channel, and spending the last few years in deep drug addiction, throwing away all my hobbies, friends, perpetually bored and finally 3 months sober, its reminded me how much fun pottery can be, and doesnt require me to take it toooo seriously, so i’m trying to get into it, 😅 thank you so much for the information/reply!

    It would be a lot more then 2 million cause it’s 20 doubling every half so it’s about 49,493,040 but I’m tired my math may be off

    • @manoceramicstudio
      @manoceramicstudio 9 месяцев назад

      I know the audio isn't great on this one because I sped it up, but I actually said 20 million. I'm not a math guy, but the folks over on TikTok put it into a formula for me: 20 x (2^20), which equals 20.9 million.

    What kind of paper are you using?

    • @manoceramicstudio
      @manoceramicstudio 9 месяцев назад

      I use plain white tissue paper. It's so much more affordable than specialty papers and it seems to work just as well, at least for me.

    Lolol. No they won't stand up to water. You shoukd have put them in a bucket and poured that new stuff thats water proof over them then they would. Did you shellac the bottoms????

    • @manoceramicstudio
      @manoceramicstudio 11 месяцев назад

      Interesting, haven't heard of that. They've done well so far and are still nice and flat. I did four coats of shellac on each side and on the edges.
