I still have the 'skinner' model of this knife in D2 from around 13 years ago. I thought I'd lost it once, but I found it while cleaning a former truck stuffed into the back cab seams. It had rusted up, but I cleaned the rust with lemon juice and baking soda, and it still looks like new in 2024. It's still one of my favorite knives, and I have about 50 of them, ranging from cheap to $600+.

Opinels are so much fun to customize! They are light weight excellent very affordable knives. The Buck 110,and 112 are the best built and like Opinel offer the best value for the money. A Buck 110 will last for generations to come!

A Matter of personal choice, I have both, I prefer carrying the Opinel 6, 7 and 9 according to what my day is planned. Same with the Buck 110 or similar. I prefer the Opinel lighter and thinner blades, if I am going to cut vines, light wood I go with the thicker larger blade.
