      I see nothing in the users manual about a minimum The AC300+B300 supports two PV inputs. Each individual input supports up to 12A and the charging voltage should be between 12-150V. The AC300+B300 can achieve a combined maximum of 2400W of total solar input.

I only use the AC300 now stricly for Multiple bad weather days in a row in situations where i would of had to fire up a gas generator, and whenever I have a super sunny day whatever extra power I have left over from my main system I just dump the power into that for the next bad weather situation.

    I have my solar setup on the EG4 Brightmount Ground Solar Mounts with Two 6x6x10 posts cut in half using Six Hq195w Panels on it, with 8 East facing 460w Bifacial Panels and another 4 on the roof. The one thing you should get for your current setup is the Bluetti PV Step down module. It's worth it, with that you don't have to worry about the Volts coming in, You'll get the Max 2400 watts off each unit.

    6 x in series is too much. You need to give about a 20% margin in calculated VOC verses the charge controller (the bluetti's) maximum input voltage. So 150V - (150 * 0.2) = 120V. 120V / 24.3V = 4.94 panels in series. So I think you can safely put 5 in series, but not 6. The panel VOC can also be exceeded in very cold sunny weather (colder weather increases solar panel output), and also when bright clouds are just exiting the sun and create really bright conditions for a short while. The bluetti will periodically run a MPPT sweep as well as stop drawing down the panels when the batteries are full, and both can temporarily allows the panels to go VOC or close to it, so if you are over-volting the error can occur under quite a varied number of conditions. As another alternative to keep the 6-panel series configuration, you can big a resistor between the "+" and the "-" of the solar panel feed, calculated to dissipate say 2-5W. So for example, a 2.7 KOhm 50W resistor would work. That's roughly 120V / 2700ohms = 0.044A. And (Power = I*I*R) 0.044 * 0.044 * 2700 = 5.2W. This will cut-down the VOC a bit and hopefully keep it in bounds of the Bluetti. OOPS (EDIT): 150V, not 120V. So maybe use a 4.7 KOhm 50W resistor. 150V / 4700 = 0.032A. 0.032 * 0.032 * 4700 = 4.8W. Perfect. A 50W resistor should have no trouble dissipating 5W in open-air without an additional heat sink beyond the aluminum casing it already has. Search "50W 4.7k resistor" on e.g. amazon or something. Look for aluminum-cased resistors. Make sure the value and wattage is correct. Find the correct resistor and that will do the job. Be careful if doing electronics to not accidentally short the solar and properly use heat shrink and electrical tape after soldering the wires to the resistor (etc). But the easiest solution is to drop the system down to 5 panels in series. -Matt

      Thanks. Bluetti is who told me to do two strings of six. The panels were completely covered in snow when it happened. My so who is an electrical engineer told me for some reason the panels went into open circuit. Perhaps the snow?

    • @junkerzn7312
      @junkerzn7312 7 месяцев назад

      @@johnkayak10 They will go into open-circuit of the power station or charge controller stops pulling power from the panels. The VOC voltage is just the voltage the panels produce when there is no electrical load on their output to pull it down. There are many reasons why the bluetti might have stopped or momentarily stopped pulling power from the panels. You can't depend on the power station (or any solar device) always providing a load for the panels. So when that happened the panels went to VOC and when the sun came back out again the VOC was high enough (even through the snow) that the bluetti got the over-voltage error and shut-down the solar input. -- Bluetti's tech support probably doesn't have much actual knowledge about their products. But in any-case, they are incorrect in this instance. Particularly in cold weather climates (cold increases solar panel efficiency), or with the added brightness from reflecting snow and clouds and such. Charge controllers, grid tie inverters, and power stations have two high-side voltage specifications. One is the maximum voltage for efficient MPPT operation, and the other is the abolute maximum voltage the device can tolerate on its solar input. Most power stations just have the absolute limit specified on their data sheets. In this case, 150V. You don't want the solar panels to get anywhere near that limit. The power station can detect the over-voltage and try to avoid damage by shutting down, but there is still a limit, not far above that specified maximum, where the passive voltage can permanently damage the unit. To be safe and to avoid error conditions like this, the sum of the panel's specified VOCs in series should not be higher than roughly 20% below the power station's maximum voltage specification. -Matt

    Hello, I have AC300+B300 and I wanted to ask you a question about this. I think you mentioned it in a previous comment. To charge the battery I have two inputs, each with 1200. I read in a previous comment that you could use 24x100w or 12x200w. But could you use, for example, a 550w panel? And make a 4x550 connection? And thus have 2200W. Fanility in my case is to reduce the space as much as possible. I look forward to your help. thanks so much

    • @johnkayak10
      @johnkayak10 7 месяцев назад

      Yes each of the inputs for each of the inverters on your AC300 can take a max of 1200 watts and max of 150 volts. So you could use 2 of the 550 panels hooked in series for each input. The watts are under the 1200 watts but you will need to calculate the volts. To do that , when panels are hooked in series for each panel you add the voltage of each panel. There should be a label on the back of your panels that will tell you their voltage. Add it and if your under 150 volts your good.

I am not an electrician and it is very difficult for me to understand all the technicalities and acronyms when we refer to amperes, watts, wh... I get very confused but I am trying to understand it. If I can ask you a few more questions I would be super grateful to you. I'm reading and rereading the BLUETTI user manual and I can't "figure it out." I'm very sorry if these are actually super basic questions. Specifically, I am reading POINT 10, CHARGING METHODS FOR AC300+B300. HOW TO CHARGE WITH SOLAR PANEL. And this point i), in one of the examples they mention the BLUETTI D300S. When the following is true: 150V > PV VOC > 550 V is when you should use it. I understand that for the aforementioned I do not need this device, do I? After this, I can see in the example ii) VOC of PV < 150 V and the solar system is > 1200W I have to turn ON the PV Parallel Enable. But in a previous point, it tells me that I have to turn OFF the PV Parallel Enable if the maximum power is 1200. I am super super confused, I don't understand anything.

    • @johnkayak10
      @johnkayak10 7 месяцев назад

      Not sure exactly what the manual is saying there? But to make it simple for you your AC300 has a cable that has a pigtail with four mc4 cables. That is the power PV input cable. Connect the round end into the PV input on the AC300. Then two are mark PV1 (red and black) and PV2 9red and black) those connect the solar panels to the 2 inverters in the AC300. So hook two of your panels in series and connect them to the PV 1 wires and do the same with the other two panels and hook them to the PV 2 wires .@@CoteTattoo

    God bless you for doing a thorough report, I just found your videos and I dont want to get the bluetti panels as they are too expensive. I know you probably made a video before on how you connected your renogy panels to the bluetti ac 300 but; Could you tell me the exactly parts, cords, and adapters is needed for connecting the renogy panels to the bluetti? as I have a feeling they are not directly compatible, I apologize sincerely if I missed that video. Do you use series or parallel connections and up to how many panels can you connect before you have to start a new sequence? I also have a feeling if I connect 24 panels that's 100 watts I may fry the bluetti?

      Yes when I started the solar info can be overwhelming. We learn as we go. The AC300 has two inverters so there are two sets of MC4 cables that combines to the plug that goes into the bluetti. From there I have number 10 mc4 cables going from my garage out to my garden where I have two arrays of 100 watt panels. Each array is 12 100 watt panels they are renogy panels. Each inverter of the two inverters that the ac300 has can input up to 150 volts. To be under that my arrays are wired 6 panels in series and then using a Y connector connecting the the two 6 panel series strings together in parallel. That gives you 120 volts. Here is a video I did back when I had just the one AC300. Hope it helps ruclips.net/video/5uJ9I6ls6ik/видео.htmlsi=no4BWiibAiy11upI
