I worked for him when he had the Checker’s franchise in Atl. We were in one of his mgr meetings where he announced Wendy was pregnant. He was asked by one of the men if he knew if it were a boy or girl…..he quickly made eye contact, cleared his throat and said “it better be a boy, you don’t think I’m leaving all of this to some b**** do you”. I disconnected from him emotionally at that very moment. I knew how wrong that was and saw him very clearly in that moment. I updated my resume’ and left. He acquires a lot BUT, everything he touched failed. He had plenty of cash because he didn’t pay his bills as promised. Total con. Believe what you will…..I was there.

This man is to be respected. To see where he came from and how he rose to own so much, should inspire each of us that we can also become successful with hard work. Granted, you will be on the radar of the Govt, especially if youre black...but, we have so much inner strength that it is impossible to stop a person who will never give up. As a former urban city teenager using the bus line to and from school; I found this very enlightening. The bus ride experience for me depended on the time of day I rode. I found some rides a pleasant experience in a comfortable seat of choice, then there were times I had to stand and ride the bus from the time I stepped on until arriving at home.
