Alan, check out Acts 3:22, where Peter tells the Jews he is preaching to that Jesus is the Prophet Moses was prophecying about in Deuteronomy 18.

Deut 18:15-16 is referring to Elijah the Prophet. Answer comes to you in malachi 4:4-5 and psalms 68:4 and deut 18:18 answer is 1kngs 17:24 MATT 17:12-13 PROHECY in that oder! Psalm 50:23.. Maybe?

Thanks brother Chuck. Good stuff as always. BTW, the Greek word in John 14:2 is μονή and does not mean mansion... KJV folks were way off there. It comes from the verb μένω to remain. Here is what my lexicon not biased by protestant seminaries says μονή (feminine noun) from verb μένω a staying, abiding, tarrying, stay, Hdt., Eur., etc.; μονὴν ποιεῖσθαι to make delay, tarry, Thuc.: a stopping place. In next chapter (John 15:9-10), Jesus uses the verb μένω commanding the apostles to μείνατε (remain) in me, just as I (μενω) remain in my Father by obeying Him.... Same idea, this "abode" is the spirit of Christ remaining in us, if we obey him, which makes us share in God himself, who is our heavenly abode. As you pointed out, Jesus says in John 14:23 that if we obey Him, the Father and Son will come and make their delay or tarry with that person, i.e. if we persevere in the Passover abode via obedience, they will persevere in us, i.e. the HS wont leave but will remain. Scroll up to see same greek phrase in the lexicon definition that is in John 14:23 μονὴν ποιεῖσθαι to make delay, tarry, Romans 8:9-10 calls the spirit of God we receive, the spirit of Christ.

When Paul speaks of Jesus unifying with his bride he said "and the two shall become one flesh" mystery will be revealed upon Christ's return because the promise is that those found worthy to inherit eternal life, will become ONE with Christ and become just like Him. 1 John 3:2 Jesus prayed to His Father in John 17 so that He and His Father who are ONE will become ONE with the faithful, i.e. those found worthy. We will share in the divinity with God THROUGH Jesus. This points to the Eucharist. Genesis 1:26 is God's plan, i.e. making man in the image of God. In the end, his mission will be accomplished.
